Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people's cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It's not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy.

Your best option if you are unfamiliar with the markets is to seek advice or help from a consultant or investing coach. I know it sounds simple or generic, but talking to a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and increase my portfolio to roughly 65% since January. For me, it's the best method to enter the market right now.

The prediction of a 32% business failure rate in 2024 suggests a challenging landscape ahead. Factors contributing to this potential "business apocalypse" should be carefully analyzed, including economic trends, industry shifts, and the impact of global events. Adaptability and strategic planning will be crucial for companies navigating these uncertain times.

The FED lowered its inflation objective to less than 2% in 2012. They changed the target to a long-term average of 2% inflation. Because long-term interest rates are set at inflation plus a profit margin, the implication is lower interest rates. I consider high interest rate to be a very serious issue. It will cause more investors to withdraw from the market. Although certain investors continue to earn over $365,000 regardless. Wish I could accomplish that.

Great point. 401k distributions / loans are at an all-time high these days. This is the equivalent of a farmer eating his seed corn so he can survive today and never mind what tomorrow brings when he cannot plant next year's crop. 401Ks and other retirement plans all have a number of barriers against taking the money out of them before one actually retires. There are good reasons for this. This money is FOR retirement and not for spending along the way to retirement and then finding out at the end that it is all or nearly all gone. Two things that often go unmentioned are: 1) if one is laid off or fired, any 401k loan repayments are demanded immediately, so the loss of a job is accompanied by a huge bill that is not easily repaid; and 2) when one borrows from a 401k plan, the money that is used to repay the loan is after-tax money, not pre-tax money. Because of this the amount of the loan is actually taxed twice, once when one repays the loan and again when the money is withdrawn in retirement. This makes a 401k loan a very bad deal for most who take them out, even if they don't lose their job before the loan is repaid.

The world might not just ditch the dollar, but US bonds too. This is why the FED can not ignore inflation, no matter what.. Who is going to buy a 10 year US bond paying 3% if inflation is 4%? Nobody. There is no mathematical scenario were you can have 4% inflation and 2% borrowing cost because no investor on the planet is going to buy debt with a guaranteed loss. The FED could in theory just buy all the US Government debt but that would result in double digit hyper-inflation. Investors buy UST's with existing dollars.. the FED buys them with brand new ones they create out of thin air. There is zero inflation impact when an investor buys a UST.. but when the FED does it it's pure inflation.

One of the things I have learned in my 60 years is not to completely move in or move out of investments, if you have quality assets. It is better to trim, and then hold some cash for buying opportunities. That way if things drop, you have some funds to buy in. If things go up, you still have a solid chunk invested. Because long-term interest rates are set at inflation plus a profit margin, the implication is lower interest rates. I consider the current rising interest rate to be a very serious issue it will cause more investors to withdraw from the market. Gold at $35 per ounce? Two problems with that: 1) That's not accounting for inflation, i.e. that's not talking about today's dollars at all. 2) Even if you ignore the above, gold hasn't been equivalent to $35/oz t since 1934, so in other words you're claiming to be almost 90 years old; maybe you are, but I strongly doubt it, I think you're just full of shit. Gold is extremely cheap right now when you consider what utter garbage the digital toilet paper of the Fed really is. When the Fed starts to desperately cut rates and monetize more debt, gold is going to skyrocket in terms of that toilet paper, because unlike that trash gold is actually real money, and always was.

If you actually believe that, you're a moron. Real inflation is at least 20% in the US, the Fed would have to raise interest rates to above that level to have any chance of counteracting inflation at this point, but that would instantly obliterate the entire US economy, so good luck. Rates will come down to zero again, and then they'll start to monetize more debt, and at some point the entire world will stop using US digital toilet paper as it hyperinflates to the heavens.

The investigation was looking into whether some of the bank’s customers had engaged in tax evasion or money laundering..Last year, the NY Tomes reports, banking officials in Puerto Rico moved to shut down Euro Pacific, claiming it had inadequate capital levels. Mr. Schiff subsequently reached an agreement with bank regulators to liquidate Euro Pacific and agreed to pay $300,000 in fines. The international tax investigation, led by a group called the J5, has not filed charges against Mr. Schiff or Euro Pacific. But in February, tax officials in Britain said they had arrested two of the bank’s customers on “suspicion of tax evasion and money laundering” in connection with a related investigation.
