I was in a relationship once where I was expected to submit to my then boyfriend's wishes. When we had a disagreement, it was like the topic became a poll in his family, everyone siding with him and calling me stubborn. His wishes were seldom negotiable, while my needs often got compromised. The hardest part was when I started to think I didn't want biological children. It became a huge debate and as I spoke to a mutual friend/therapist, she told me my uterus was not just my business but that my partner also had a say in if I would be pregnant or not. Luckily, I got out of the relationship, but the way my whole identity would have been erased on the expense of submitting to him is scary.

I'm very sorry that you were subjected to this from your previous partner. Unfortunately, some people think submitting in a relationship, be it romantic or otherwise, means completely outsourcing your mind to another person such that, you must agree with everything that person does and says. You are not allowed to have an opinion of your own because, if you're a woman who does not score extremely high in agreeableness on the Big Five, that somehow makes you "masculine" or a "boss bitch". That is not a healthy relationship dynamic. That is not a true companionship. That is one person being intellectually and spiritually subservient to their partner. Fortunately, the number of men who expect this particular behaviour from their spouses or girlfriends is very small in the general population. The vast majority of men want women who are kind and nurturing and still challenge them intellectually, but do not nitpick with them about insignificant mundane things. The men who hold those extreme views of women, like what you describe, need to be avoided like the Black Plague.

The sad thing about pick me behavior is that they're wired to believe that other women are the enemy. So they spend a lot of energy putting women down to boost their egos (instead of developing ways to self-improve.) Whoever was the primary caregiver for the children in the marriage or relationship usually get PHYSICAL custody with shared legal custody and regular visitation with the other parent. There is a LOT of abusers that use the family court system to torture the other parent when they try to leave the relationship. Women also have much fewer resources and money when they leave, due to being the primary caregiver to the children. That means less or no money for legal representation during a divorce.

The amount of times that I see online the phrase "men get screwed over in divorce" is alarming. It seems like then they just want to date forever. Then we have a situation, where all these 35+ year old men are making fun of women of the same age, saying they should have gotten married in their 20s, and YET, they were the ones who just dated their potential wives for years, wasting their time, because they were too marriage-phobic to get married.

One of the biggest things I've noticed that people forget in marriage, is that you are human first. I always try and remind myself that other people you interact with throughout the day, that we are all human, we all have our own thought processes, emotions, past experiences. She only talks about the side of women needing to submit to men. She doesn’t talk about the man’s side of that equation which is to respect, honor, and cherish your wife. Not to dog on men, I love men, but how many married men are really out there fully respecting & honoring their wife in everything they do, and then coming home and cherishing their wife consistently so that she’s in a place of truly feeling comfortable submitting to him like that? Men aren’t just entitled to submission, even in that belief system (or whatever you want to call it), they have an ongoing obligation to uphold their duties in the marriage as well, which isn’t just providing monetarily.

The thing about submission is that in the Bible (which is where a lot of people claim to take that part from) it basically says that wives should submit to their husbands, and husbands should love their wives ask Christ loved the church, enough to die for them even before they love him. If I have a husband that is willing to love me enough to die for me, I can submit to him. Pearly wants to say that wives should submit to their husbands and husbands have every right to treat them like crap, which is rediculous. Selfish husbands don't deserve submissive wives.

I’m glad you explicitly state this is your own personal view about your own relationships. Honestly I think as an agnostic women the quote is such an exhausting one to have to deal with. Women don’t owe submissive when we get treated with humanity. I could devote my life to my husband, which many women do, and I’m still the only party expected to have no will of my own and submit. Devoting your love to someone doesn’t then mean it’s a trade off for obedience. Especially when men can get their own life AND have someone devote themselves to them.

@m0rgg459 I also don't think submission means what people think it means. I think in the end, it is just that you let him lead, not that you don't have a voice of your own. We discuss things, and he does have final say, but I have a lot of input.

@@aina3387but why would you want him to have the final say lmao, important decisions that influence both your lives should be split absolutely 50/50 😂 there's no "I have a lot of input", you should be a damn equal

@@xLiLlyx98 Because sometimes there is a tie and one person has to be the tiebreaker. Most of the time we rate it by how important it is to each one of us (so, for instance if the issue is a 10 to me but a 4 to him, I win, and vice versa) but what if the issue is a 5 to both of us? Or a 10 to both of us but isn't an issue we would get divorced over? Then someone has to have final say. Now, that is where trust and "loving enough to die" comes in. I have to trust that he has my best interests at heart, not just his own and it is his duty to think of what is best for the family as a whole (currently just me and him) rather than what he wants personally. But, since we are both givers, often "submission" for me means letting him sacrifice and take care of something rather than me doing it myself, tbh. And it definitely isn't him micromanaging and telling me what to do on a daily basis.
@xLiLlyx98

@@aina3387 okay, but then why make it sound like he gets the final say in all things concerning your relationship? What you just wrote is actual equality and NOT giving the man the ultimate say in everything. Sometimes someone has to be the tiebreaker, yes, but if it's always the same person and they dominate, I'd say that's unhealthy. Idk. But this way, yeah, I guess that's valid.

This is why i like you and your videos GC. i have the same views as you especially about marriage being something we need to work together with. So a clear line of communication is most important and transparency of course. And i think it's much easier for an Egyptian Indian like myself, because our culture focuses on this type of marriage, where things are foremost based on companionship. But there will be inevitably, some amount of compromises.

Seems like your video got cut off. I think you should call it what it is - society wants a dichotomy of truths and “right vs. wrong”. There are so many other factors that go into relationships and our personal decisions. It’s easier for people to digest “yes, no” than it is for people to think about reality on a spectrum. I applaud you for identifying this channel as one that only shares one point of view, largely for one person/community, and then preaching it to the masses. I’ve noticed more and more, as I’ve gotten older, that people have it all wrong about self-esteem. They think that people who have high self-esteem go out and achieve shit and make themselves proud, but it’s the opposite way around: people who go out and achieve shit and make themselves proud… they have high self-esteem because they watched themselves do that. Pearl was raised by wealthy parents, and as such she probably didn’t have to go out and do much-everything was just brought to her. (I say that as someone whose parents were certainly not wealthy, but I had a privileged upbringing, and I have some low self-esteem too, although it doesn’t manifest in me parroting ridiculous manosphere garbage.) Her self-estrem would probably improve by leaps and bounds if she stopped trying to stand in the way of women out there accomplishing what they wanna do, and BECAME a woman accomplishing what she wants to do. Would she stop spouting this garbage if that happened? I dunno. None of us will probably ever know. But at least she’d probably settle down and find a man and perhaps be less annoying, maybe even personally happier.

So, I think she's tripping herself up there.

Right off the bat, I definitely identify as a feminist, and am here to remind that feminism is NOT about putting women above men. I personally am really into intersectional feminism (because feminism without intersectionality is just self-help) and I cannot stress enough how much feminism is about fighting oppression as a whole (whether it's for the LGBTQIA+ community, the disabled community, POCs, etc...), and pointing out the fact that the patriarchy ruins everyone's lives, men's included !! It saddens me that "feminism" became such a bad word recently, but I swear, it's a cool world to dive into ♥

Here's my take on it and despite Pearl's claims on being pro-traditional, here's why I think she isn't actually traditional. She claims to be against feminism and to be pro-redpill and yet the irony is that it's made her exactly the former where she focuses solely on career and behaves like an immature 14-year old dude. And she isn't seemingly looking to get married as a traditional person would, and yet complains about marriage being a problem for men as if it's her problem too... but she's a woman. So she appears to pretend like she's a red-pill guy but she's female. I don't understand that at all. I don't have an exact idea as to why she's behaving like this but what I say is that you can make alot of money and profits from either side of the culture war, left or right, feminism or redpill, etc. And if you go back to some of her past content, she has displayed support of being proud to be rich, as well as implying the support of white supremacy by interviewing one of her guests who was for KKK and a racist against blacks. This is what I've found but I'll let you guys research and draw conclusions for yourselves. But in my opinion, she's not all mentally there.
