Anyone else annoyed by the long loading times when exiting a game to the main menu? I timed it, and it is 15 seconds quicker to use taskmanager to end the BF5 proces and re-launch the game..

As of writing this I have over a 100 hrs in BFV and I have over 2 days of playtime on the support class alone and here is my take on things: Support guide from a support player. Weapons : 1. The KE7 is a great overall weapon that can be used for both attack and defence. Its got great accuracy and low recoil so you can take most fights and be the victor. The only downside to this gun is that the ammo capacity is low with only 25 in the mag so pick your fights carefully. 2. The MG34 is a easy to control and fairly accurate MMG which should be used on defence only as its fire rate wont allow you to even try to take on 1v1 fights. Specialise its accuracy and how long you can fire it for. 3. The 12G is bloody great for defence and offence, anyone in very close range will be shot dead without them even having a chance however don't go past very close range as you'll only annoy enemies and give away your position. I'd advise to specialise the left side as you'll get more ammo and more punch per shot. 4. The Bren gun is the supports most accurate LMG (I think so anyway) It might fire slow but with a 3 times scope and all specked into accuracy you'll be able to have a DMR like weapon that will be able to annoy enemy snipers and keep people at bay from attacking your objectives. Try to specialise its accuracy over anything else and learn tap fire with this weapon. 5. The Lewis gun is the middle ground LMG its good on both attack and defence but you must stick in that middle engagement range in order to get the most out of the Lewis gun as it doesn't fire fast enough or do enough damage at range. Its easy to control so specialise it how you want. 6. The M30 Drilling is a brilliant weapon for accurate and not so accurate players who play in close-mid combat. I advise only using it on defence as its got a very limited ammo capacity however anything that is in your sights should be killed in one shot. Plus the rifle shot is great at medium distance to get a quick 60dmg on most targets. 7. The FG42 is the supports best aggressive weapon (in my opinion) as you can deal with most medics and assault with little to no problem as long as its you that shoots first. However at anything past close to very mid range you're simply going to lack the power to kill anyone at medium ranges without having to reload and try again. 8. The MG42 is highly versatile being able to play both aggressively and offensively. If you decided that you want fire rate over ammo capacity then you'll be able to beat most enemies when pushing an objective. If you decide that you want ammo capacity over RPM then you'll have 250 rounds to put into anyone who attacks your objective. This gun has a lot of vertical and horizontal recoil so its best to use the Machine Gunner role in order to fire for longer and with more control and accuracy. Playstyle : Play to your weapons strength all the time, if you have the Engineer role be sure to stay near friendly tanks and keep infantry off them whilst keeping their tank repaired. Don't get too cocky against medic classes at close range as they and snipers are your worst enemy when your pants are down. Build Ammo crates and Medical crates on objectives for your team and place mines down where traffic is most popular or save them for when you need to get up to a tank. If you have the machine gunner role play behind your team but also whilst in font of your snipers as you need to suppress and spot the enemy whilst providing suppressive fire for your team. Focus the objectives so that you can maximise the use your of role. P.S I'm not great at writing in general so sorry if things don't make sense or if you see any errors.

Not sure what you're talking about. I find the Bren to be one of the best guns the support has, especially once it's upgraded. It's incredibly accurate and powerful. Also with a medium or long range scope it's perfect for killing/surpressing snipers.

Ironic that the FG42 is notable for its recoil, whereas in real life it is actually unusually controllable. Not a surprise, but amusing.

I just LOVE the support class in this game. There's nothing better than setting up on an objective and just cutting down the enemy team as they dare cross my path

Boy this some great education. Wow holographic scopes, that makes so much sense considering the time period this game takes place.

My fav feature is just the 'advanced' option when looking for a game, can pick a server myself instead of having it quickmatch me. Always worried w/shooters these days that i won't have that feature, very glad its there. Not so much an issue while the game is new and there's a million games of every time going on all the time, but its a must have feature as the game ages or when you're looking to do a specific assignment or when you are playing with a large group of people.

I’ve been using the MG42 with recoil buffer, light bolt, flashless propellant, and quick reload and i honestly prefer that loadout to extended belt, chrome lining. While the EB/CL loadout is good for drawn out defensive engagements and suppression spotting, i felt it was leading to me getting killed more because I wouldn’t be afraid to lay down overwhelming fire with those pesky tracers and muzzle flash leading my enemies right to my position. Light bolt has in my opinion made close quarters hipfire engagements much easier, because you can absolutely rip through 2-3 foes as long as you have decent recoil control. Plus the reduction in muzzle flash helps to keep you a bit more concealed. Because you’ll mostly be using the buzzsaw while bipoded, it’s easy to duck behind whatever you’re using as a mounting point, slap in a new 50 round belt and get back to work thanks to quick reload. The only downside to this loadout is your limited engagement distance. The insane 1200 round per minute fire rate makes it IMPOSSIBLE to engage targets at longer ranges because even while bipoded the recoil is tremendous. While burst firing can help with this, it’s still a challenge to land hits in longer midrange to long distance engagements. All in all, I think you’ll also enjoy this loadout if you’re not afraid to lug your buzzsaw into the heat of battle.

Lewis Gun with a 3x scope, quick aim, ported barrel, barrel bedding and recoil buffer makes it a fucking beast. The Lewis gun is my favorite lmg atm.

My problem with the m30 drilling is that if i switch to the rifle mode, i have to switch back to shotgun mode before i can swap to my sidearm. It has gotten me killed more than a few times when some one runs around the corner and i can't get to a gun fast enough to react.

I would recommend fully unlocking the MG34 if you're leveling support. You'll only use the gun situationally, but it will tear up enemies in medium range chokepoint situations in breakthrough.

The MMGs are some of my favorite machine guns from WWII. It makes me sad I can't run and gun like I did in BF4 : , (

The lewis gun is the gun i like more in BFV yesterday just got the golden skin :D It is a powerfull gun in the right hands is almost half track an MMG - LMG i have almost the same upgrade tree but i choosed the better bypod and it is almost a laser!!! Plus the M30 drilling is powerfull but its a bit buggy, the sights some times go crazy and you cant aim properly but it will be fixed!!!

Wouldn't the Slugs in the 12gauge be good to try since you didn't like the range of the shot? I haven't gotten to try it yet, but that's usually what the slugs are good for.

im a fan of the bren. when you lay down with the right upgrades its like a laser

The KE7 is absolutely amazing. I win at least 90% of my firefights with it, more than any other gun in the game. If you have good reactions and can aim for the torso/head specifically, you will be unstoppable at any range, even when your opponent gets the drop on you.

With the MG34, I use the right side of the specialisation, because of 33% less heat and a fast reloadable magazine! In the MG42 I used the same tree, but used faster reloading at the last point! Its my most favourite gun! Its so much fun, defending Positions with this Monster! It honors the MG42!

I was #7 in the world for AWS in BF4 on xbox for awhile. I ran it with smoke, claymore and airburst. Often used IR scope pre-nerf. I was a one-man army and flanker bc of the large mag. It was also a very accurate gun even at longer ranges. What loadout and custom tree choices might help me with this sort of hyper aggressive yet unconventional/circumventional play in BF5?

Just got into the game today, and this guide helps a lot, but I find myself struggling HARD with the tanks in game. It seems like you just get spammed by Anti Tank weapons and there's nothing you can do to avoid being swarmed unless you just sit back. I used to be really good with the tanks in BF3 and BF4... but at least with the Valentine I'm having an abysmal time, especially since the 2 Pdr main gun has a painfully small splash radius.

i literally went like 40 or 50 and 2 with the bren 3x, the accuracy at range is wicked. close range has no recoil either making headshots a every gunfight occurrence.... then again i havent unlocked the fg42 so

They fixed the m30 not being able to weapon switch when on the rifle round but now it seems i can't change fire mode whilst reloading. This is quite bad for the m30, i hope this is not intented and gets fixed soon

Can you manually place the bipod like you could in bf4 ? , i love playing support but right now i don't rly see a difference when aiming prone or not

Does anyone else have the bug for the FG42 where if you put on any specializations the scope gets messed up? I can use the gun stock and it’s fine and thats what I’ve been doing but as soon as I put any specializations on it the sights get screwed up.

I keep finding myself going back to the Drilling shotgun, 1-2 shots up close - med distance and a goddamn sniper mode xD

i think the shotguns are the best weapons for the support class. I got the 12g to the max level in no time and the drilling straight up destroys people at any distance

PLAY THE M30 DRILLING it's a ton of fun. The most satisfying weapon in the game. Outsniping recons with a shotgun. Although the hipfire lethal range can be kinda ridiculous.

I haven’t seen many people talking about the uniforms you get for completing the mastery challenges. Ill tell you the german sets cause i dont know the brits. Assault is silver dagger, support is hades, recon is canis horibillis, and medic is veiled threat.

The KE-7 is actually god-tier. It's only downside is the small mag and long reload, but i love the reload animation so i dont ever mind reloading

Hmm seems the recoil of the FG-42 is for balancing as a real FG doesn't kick a huge amount compared to other weapons of similar type. Forgotten Weapons has one such video of Ian firing one and complementing the weapon :P

Im starting to get a grip on the game. I used to run around alone and kill everyone in BF1 but this game is so much slower! I need to adjust my play style and play a little bit slower and get a good squad.

Loving the gunplay in this game, and I have no complaints about all the free WW1 guns being added, but it would be nice to have a few more proper WW2 guns in, just to make the setting feel more grounded. But I'm sure they'll come further down the line!

I thought the MMG’s were called MOUNTED machine guns... as in they have to be mounted on an object via the bipod.. I’m just curious as to where “medium” machine gun came from

My Fg 42 is bugged. All the sights are out of wack. Bullets are going beneath the reticle instead of on and the back post of the AA sights completely blocks the front sight. Its become unuseable. And I like the gun too. Dont know how to fix it

if you take the 1200 rounds upgreade you can easaly outguny anyone from the hip in close distance and in long range but youll constantly reload it just like the real gun

Hey levelcap...so im having an issue. I have reached assault rank 13 but have not recieved the stg 44...im actually almost level 15 now and it's rather annoying. The same thing happened to me with the MP 40 but i eventuality unlocked it like...3 levels after it said i would. Do you know why this is or what i can do about it?

Damn I was wrong about the game! It took me a couple of matches to get use the feeling and set my settings for the best frames but this game is amazing! It really doesn’t feel like bf1 not even close. The TTK is really fast idk if it’s just me but I like it though
