This friendly ewe has flystrike. We check our sheep for flystrike on a regular basis, and treat them right away. We use our Handypiece portable handpiece to shear our affected sheep right away, where we find them, without having to run them all the way back to the woolshed.

Destroy wildlife habitat and blame them for being there protecting their families. Pigs r some smartest animals n world top 5 ocean life mammals r slaughtered for meat don't need and culture! That's a large area of fly strike. We check our flock daily we can usually spot first signs in those with flystrike by their behaviour. Though saying that we've had a ewe off her legs within 24hrs and when trimming we could see they had burrowed tunnels from her back end it was the worst case we had seen in such a short space of time she was depressed head down losing her mind we trimmed and cleaned her thoroughly thought she would die but she made it threw and fostered in her later years. They are bustards those damn things. Good job

Lot of times there's not a specialty /livestock vet around and if you find one they're *incredibly* expensive... if you have a whole herd of sheep or whatever animal that would multiply out of control very fast. Keeping animals turns you into a specialized vet tech out of sheer necessity lol. Never would have imagined myself doing some of the things I have for injured/sick chickens and goats but it's rewarding when things go right and you can help them and I feel more confident when things inevitably go south again (chickens especially love to just randomly malfunction or die lmao but I love em)

It's flystrike m8. They get it mostly rear end and over the shoulder. It's part of the life of sheep. You should do a stint on an Australian merino sheep property. You soon get used to it.
