Hey Mike! I’m currently serving as Active Duty Military, I just wanted to say that I look up to you! I see that you design and fly your own aircraft, and that’s enough to leave any aviator amazed, well, at least me lol. I’m 20 years old and everyday I aspire to be like you someday in the future! Love the projects, keep up the awesome work! It’s absolutely humbling to be able to see every little thing come together to make a beast! Stay High Above The Best🤘🏽

I stumbled on to the "Scrappy" build somewhere in the early teens of the project videos. I was so impressed with both the project and the fierce enthusiasm, mad skills, and mind boggling work ethic of Mike Patey, that I went back and pretty much binged the series up to this point. Loved the four bar, complete with airfoil, landing gear solution, by the way. Anxiously looking forward to the next installment. Beyond my role of spectator and fan, I just wish there was some process where I could get a transfusion of whatever powers this man. Super impressed.

I have an idea for the doors seen at 25:00 into the video, that yellow around the edges really is a grate indicator to show if the door's are shut, open or accidentally opened some how. Mike I'm a young individual who is working far far from home on farms and haven't seen my family in over 2 and a half years to save money to do my pilot licences and chase my dream of being a commercial pilot, when times get tough and I find my self asking why I'm doing this I remind my self by watching your videos. We completely rebuilt a couple of Champs, a Chief and a Tri Ppacer, adding mods and updating them to the latest specs. My Dad has been gone for 10 years and I am now 69, but I know that he would have loved to watch all of your videos, as I do. The Draco series is still my favorite...Now THAT was some cutting edge engineering! You are a master craftsman! Get back to work!

Mike's comment about saving a 100 grams lots of times adds up to a significant saving, reminds me of F1 design philosophy. They do the same thing but not just with weight. They look at every component and assembly, trying to gain a fraction of 1% improvement with each one. That sounds so like what Mike is doing with Scrappy.

Another amazing episode and far more learning for me... Wish I had half the knowledge and ability that Mike has... Can't wait to see more episodes... and even more so the new and improved DRACO project when that comes up!!!!

I always enjoy your videos. Seems like the kind of shop I would love to work in. Always seems like a fun place to be and a unique learning environment. Even you learn something new every day. My goal is to build my own STOL.

And inventors are not nuts right ??? LOL you need to be crazy or you never would think outside the box. Great job Mike keep up the good work. Maybe one day we run into each other in person when you come down to Florida.
