You are so funny and down to earth, thoroughly enjoy watching you and your feathered family. What a great toy box for small birds, loved the soft wood for them to just rip apart, soft “bird safe” wood is all I need to know for names 😉, but I see Wendy C, has already educated all of us, thankyou. Peach and Mango behave so much like my Meyers girl, ‘Yuki’, never sit’s still unless she’s worn herself out, and into everything and always wants to know what I’m doing and trying to help 🙄, love her to bit’s. Thanks for sharing.

🤗 that’s really kind I appreciate it so much. Yes!! I love that mango wasn’t having to be overly aggressive to chop up any of the toys he was able to be so gentle and still stimulated.

Hmmm might have to indulge in one of these these boxes ... all my birds love the yucca and Sola and especially the mahogany pods... great video

I didn’t want to spoil it by opening the box first I had no idea what the toys were made of! Learning now 😊 totally do it they’re packed full my birds are still playing with them!

We love this toy box at our house! Its our ringnecks favorite!! I ordered 2 boxes and already need a third! The ones are yukka wood, cork is mahogany pods and sola slivers for soft beaks!! I love the safe leather bird tricks tags aren't they cute?

this is a great box of toys. they even make great "foot toys" for bigger birds, like cookie or sam! (they obviously don't /last/ very long with big birds, but it's still lots of fun!) Birdtricks is already having a hard time keeping the toys in stock xD it's such a good price for the box... even with the cost of cross-border shipping, it's probaby worth getting up here in canada, too! ...i still should probably get the bird first though xD

Yes! I’ve tried foot toys but my birds rarely are on the ground or a flat surface and didn’t show any interest. I wound up tying the toys up with other stuff so they’d chew them 😂

My Senegal has the strongest beak. He would destroy those toys fast. He would love it though!! Btw- Your house is beautiful!!

Had a parrotlet that like the flat toy that came in box. He used it to rub the top of his head a lot but mostly during molting.

the "cork" stuff is actually mahogany pods! you did a great job on the video!

The cork texture stuff is called mahogany wood. And the wood that resembles an almond slice is called sola wood. And the kabob is made of yucca wood. The colorful toys all seem to be made of palm leaves.

Oh someone else already commented this. Oops. Well, the sticks on the sides of the Audi’s hourglass toy seems to be jute sticks. And it looks like raffia, corn husk, and some other materials in the middle. It appears that there is also some chunks of cork bark in some of the toys.

The eggshell like material on the eighth toy is called a pod cup also known as a bael pod.

Jamieleigh had the leather in these toys treated in a bird safe way, I remember her mentioning that in her vid about the tiny toy box. Usually you have to be careful about leather coz it can be treated with chemicals that are not bird safe. 😊

Veggie tanned leather is what you have to look for. I personally don’t buy leather tho, too much of a hassle to find out whether or not it’s safe. I use paper cord and pieces of paper instead.

@@mansishah6579 yes that's it! Veggie tanned leather... I couldn't remember 🤣. Thank you! Me too, here in South Africa it's way to difficult to find out anything about most bird toys in petshops so I just make my own or buy from small businesses that I know are knowledgeable bird owners and non of them use leather because they can't find veggie tanned leather...

I ordered these toys and gave them to my sun conure (Paco) he destroyed them in about five minutes. That was money well spent! Lol It was very entertaining.

My sun loves yucca, its her favorite and I'm definitely going to buy some of those mahogany chunks after watching this video. What are your thoughts on (wooden) sleep boxes for sun conures? I have read and hear so many different opinions from professionals. I'm aware of boxes and huts causing hormonal behaviors in parrots, egg laying, not to mention crop impaction with those fabric huts. But at the same time I have also read and heard from others that suns are naturally hollow crevice sleepers and do not perch to sleep in the wild.

I guess it would depend on your personal preference. If you have a female I might be more inclined to discourage it just to avoid the risk of your bird becoming egg bound. I noticed a significant difference in the behavior of my parrots when I removed the sleeping huts. My parrots have adjusted well to perch sleep, I might say a corner perch would do them well (no roof, but a flat surface and corner walls). Would be an interesting experiment since I have two... thanks for the thought provoking question. I’m going to think about that.
