The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back. This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary. The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.
This video discusses the causes and effects of a Strong lead hand grip and how to correct it, you must also change the rotation of the torso and lead arm.

I had my lead hand more in the palm, and I was inconsistent and hitting more shots to the right (blocks, fades). Today I was hitting my wedge and it was so inconsistent. Some great, others short and to the right. I knew it had to be my grip. I put the club in my fingers on my lead hand and OMG, every shot after that was solid and straight. I came back to make sure that is what I should of been doing all along. And it was. What a major breakthrough, and yet so simple. Your videos are so detailed and helpful.

Hi Todd, what I like about your video's is that you speak with the knowledge you have in your heart/head after being with Moe for many years, you don't have an auto queue, you just speak your mind as you are so knowledgeable of Moe's game! I (like many others) have went back to their old swing as change is hard for everyone, then back to Moe's swing! But as you have said once - there are so many pieces of this puzzle that needs to be taken in/watched! Unfortunately I (like many others) have been impatient! But now the penny has dropped, so I am leaving out so those variables as you call them and just keep watching your tips! Thanks ever so much Todd/Moe!

Todd, Moe always said that took it STRAIGHT back 2 ft. I can did that for 20 years and was always inconsistent. Taking it back low and inside as much as possible has finally made me strike it pure. What a feeling 3 days in a row. Any other fix only lasted a day. THANKS for that tip. The swing happens automatically now.

Wow Todd where were these videos when I started 10 years ago lol. I bought your DVD set back then but you have really upped your teaching of Moe's swing recently. Your content today is so much better than when you first started. I am really starting to get it after switching back and forth between this and the conventional swing. The little details you give away now free God bless you make all the difference. Moe would be very proud and I hope his family are aware of what you do to keep his memory alive.

This is awesome. I am 53 years old and I was a club pro and PGA member from age 20-38. I taught and played conventional this entire time. Playing since age 10. I have a strong lead grip with short thumb. I agree I have had to play by over rotating. The last three years I have steadily gotten worse going from a 3 handicap to now a 10. Nobody even myself have been able to figure out what is going on. In the last month I have been watching a lot of your videos and you are absolutely on the mark about simplifying the golf swing. Now I know what to do with the grip change....stop over rotating. Thank you!

Hello Todd!! Thanks so much for this timely video.... I've been struggling with this same issue for over a year, and look forward to implementing this change.

Thanks so much. That one tip of rotating the hand is probably the best ever. The single best way to make sure you aren’t coming into the ball with a closed face which I know I have been doing.

Thank you for this video! I have the same issue. Was really frustrating to not understand why the right issues were happening. Totally makes sense. Now if I could only go to the range. :)

I would suggest to Mike, practice the SPS model using the neutral left hand and the right hand non-rotational grip. Work on only 60 yrds shots high, med, and low. Make sure contact is clean and video and compare to the model. I too used a strong grip with my old traditional swing. When i switched to SPS, i felt more control of the face and stopped flipping my wrist into impact. GGA has great content with the gold program to help guide on the correct path. Plus when you in grain impact and then switch to the long game it happens without even trying kinda feeling. Because you studied impact like blueprint. Good Luck MiKe! Great video Todd!

Another big issue for strong grippers is that the clubface looks wide open at the address here - which can freak out anyone used to traditional golf set up with a slightly strong grip - which would look slightly closed. That alone can make you not trust the swing and make compensations in the downswing if you are used to looking at a traditional set up.

I've watched you and Moe for a while. The one explanation that I heard was when Moe said he swung under his body, rather than around. Having said that, it was the best for me. Not discounting your wall explanation. I intend to practice with both in order to correct my tendency to "push" during my swing change.

@@pocket1719 look on here for as many moe videos as you can find....look for the one that has "bagpipes" in it's title, it's moe doing a clinic, hitting shot after shot after shot through every club, starting with PW all the way to driver, then sand trap! He talks about it in that video plenty....watch him over & over like I have been....cheers

Would it be fair to say that Moe liked to minimize clubface rotation through the swing and hit with the back of the left hand?

Hello from Canada. Pro's must hate you for letting the "secrets" of golf slip out. Thats my go to set up here in canada where we can only play like 4-5 months of the year and have to find our game every spring. I find it actually hard to shape shots anymore just baby fades and baby draws. Can you point me to one of your vidoes on shot shaping. Rip moe. Good work todd.

I am just like Mike. One of the other things the stronger grip does is to promote a backswing that is too upright and not enough around. This causes an outside to in swing. So for now 16 years I have fought pulls and fades. I’m sure I have learned to turn more to compensate. When I make the neutral grip, it’s amazing how the backswing goes right onto the proper plane. But the resulting big cut shot has stopped me from going further. Now that I understand the whole picture, I am going to convert to neutral. Thanks, great video.
