While my dog Mason and I were on a boondocking 4x4 off-road truck camper camping trip just south of Wickenburg, Arizona in the American southwest we took the 1994 Geo Tracker 4x4 on an exploration adventure down some desert back country roads when we get into a bad situation. We get down into a valley between two mountains (Vulture Peak) and can't get back out!! With darkness falling I take one last ditch effort to escape the trail by taking a small trail I found on "ONx Maps". Little did I know that taking this trail would lead to me almost flipping over the Geo Tracker while dropping down off a steep rock shelf into a wash.
Once back at camp I cook up a campfire recipe and enjoy the evening. ‪@forestyforest‬

Hi Larry, there's a guy he has a KZfaq channel in wickenburg called nugget shooter journals, he swings metal detectors all around there and finds gold, probably something you and your 4 legged buddy could get into, lots of gold can still be found around there, the minelab gold monster 1000 is the kind detector, take care, dig the channel, 👍🌵🌵🐶🇺🇸🇺🇸

Oh my gosh Larry! Just watched what you told me about on the last video. When i had my Chevy S-10 i was in a flip roll over accident. I know exactly how you must have been feeling at the moment you went down that hill. Im so glad you and Mason are well, and nothing serious happened. It's pretty simple. Unless it's your gate, if it's closed, close it behind you. If a gate is open, leave it open. There are times an open gate is the only access to water for cattle in the area.

Larry, if it doesn't kill you, it only makes you stronger :) I was thinking the same about the mapping. If it gives you more awareness of your surroundings, probably a good addition. But a little more information can be dangerous. Glad you made it and really happy to see your channel doing well.

Yeah, I think I learned my lesson! I’m currently filming a video without the tracker. But I will definitely be using the tracker on more videos. I just really like exploring the desert and I can’t do that in my truck camper. Yeah, I’m pretty excited about the channel taking off. I’m just giving her all I got to try to make it full-time! No reason not to keep doing it until it is laying upside down in a ditch like that car you saw. I'm looking forward to seeing my camper at least get to where it is "weather-proof". Not sure it will ever be "done". Maybe this spring, hopefully. Just need to get it here where I live now. I know you're subscribed, so you'll know when I post anything new. I might post a few vids on all the hiking I've been doing around here. Keep it up, I know some day we will have a joint camping video :)

Yeah that last trip actually freaked me out quite a bit so that’s why I haven’t had it in any videos since. I plan to stock the tracker up with more safety and recovery gear and stuff to camp out just in case I get stuck. lol Thank you for your concern and for watching 🙏😊

Glad it all worked out for you both. Please be more careful going forward, after seeing that car flipped down the way made me nervous. However, I am glad you were so open and honest about how you were feeling in the moments that gave you a scare💯. Moving forward I plan to have the Geo tracker stocked with enough equipment and food and water to be able to stay the night somewhere so that Mason and I will be safe if we ever got stranded. You should go camping in Sasquatch country in my state. The forests are thick. The climate is cold in the winter. Mild in the summer. Abundant wildlife.. You think you're in paradise.

YES, on the the bathroom reno! I moved two houses to our almond orchard and my husband and I did most of the work ourselves, except a few things like drywall mud and texture, the concrete pours into the fondation forms, the guys from MID helped with those. So heck yes, let me see your house on wheels get renovated.

The more security measures for safety the better. Referring to maps/map apps, etc. Our reality hit one adventure where we thought a road was a road and wasn’t. Jeep was okay enough and we did listen to our instincts to finally turn back, but it could have been an extremely bad situation. Would love to see any remodeling projects you’d like to share.

When I use to 4 wheel I hated leaning sideways. When I was riding with someone I would have to get out and walk I was ok if I was driving LOL!! You did good but thought you were going to tumble at the last!! Whew you did it!!! That's a beautiful area you are in!! He was running you to pay back for the trail ride you had him on!! Good video!! Ok, hear me out for a second: You do a great job at 4x4 videos for a few reasons. 1.)You are a normal guy with a normal vehicle. 2.)You drive and act like a normal guy, not a rich daredevil. 3.)You relate very well to more 4x4’ers than most, in my opinion. If you are really in this for the long term (7-10 years minimum), how about a second channel? I’m not saying you shouldn’t include the 4 wheelin like you are now with the camping. BUT, how about showing some camping with a 4 wheelin channel? A second channel 👍🏻. Just my humble opinion man. You may reach two very popular audiences instead of just one, with almost the same content. Either way, keep up the great work! Love your videos!

Your Tracker does a better job than my Sussucky Samurai did. A smoking trans, replaced twice, rewelding body parts and a grenaded engine caused me to get rid of it. Only got a hundred off road miles out of it, but, managed to carry two seperate bull elk out of the Carson Nat. Forest in NM. I would kill for an old M151A1 GI jeep.

Yeah, so far I really like the Geo tracker! It does smoke out of the tailpipe at times but I think I recently figured out what that was. I think it’s the transmission vacuum module. I’m gonna replace that hopefully next week and then see if that stops the smoking. Other than that, it starts up and runs great! Sorry to hear about your samurai. Think samurai looked better than the trackers but from everything I’ve heard I’m glad I ended up with the tracker. Ha ha ha Thank you so much for watching. 🙏

Bathroom remodel would be interesting. Maybe not a whole video on it though. Step by step still shots would be a good way to present it. Curious what kind of toilet you have. I finally figured the perfect toilet system. It’s somewhere between a composting system and a cassette. Let me know it you want info on it.

Might want to consider a cassette toilet for you remodel. They dont require a dump station which is a pain, still not pleasant to clean but you can do it anywhere.

I got stuck once in my little 2002 Ford Escort trying to leave a sandy river bar. It was essy enough going down but not so much going back up. I then took my knife, which had about an 8 inch blade and cut down some nearby vegetation, basically very thick weeds and placed them in front of my front tires so they would have something to grab onto. That got me out of there like a charm. For better results, tire wide strips of fairly thick rubber that you can place in front of your wheels might help for the next time that happens.

Man when you are 4 wheel in you got to get plenty of momentum in certain places speed will help keep you on the road the place your at right now if you would get a good running start at it you should go right up it no problem

Yeah, I’m pretty aware of that, it’s just different when I’m out there by myself. I’ve been four wheeling for years but usually with other people. So my thought process is if I take it slow and go easy I can’t get too stuck. Ha ha ha. Thank you for watching. 🙏

In situations like when your tires were just spinning. You can power brake it, two foot it , feel it out and it'll cause the open differentials to lock up and give you true 4x4 and hopefully help you climb on up.

You would be amazed at where that tracker can go. We ran Suzuki samurai, and Suzuki trackers all over Arizona and that Wickenburg area, when in doubt gas it out if there’s any sway bars on that thing disconnect them, way more flex and articulation.
