Jessie releasing her dustox is STILL emotional considering how she was willing to let dustox find love (though team rocket’s release is still the most emotional out of all of the Pokémon released by the team rocket trio but the dustox release is the second most emotional for Jessie)

@@ProfessorAlexSilver honestly hard to say which since the bonds that they all had make it more meaningful but Jess releasing dustox to start a family, releasing arbok to tag team protecting the koffing and ekans and releasing mimikyu to stay in alola all prove how impactful like with the release of butterfree since the team rocket trio, while still villains, care for each other and the well being of the Pokémon under their care (though I’m still curious if the Pokémon Jessie and James got in unova will ever appear again after being given to Giovanni at the end of best wishes)

I LOVE how the writers gave Jesse her own version of Bye Bye Butterfree also, plus I also liked how they gave Dustox yellow hair ribbions that werte simmilar to butterfree's yellow scarf. I teared up when I saw how Crossing paths weas similar to Bye Bye Butterfree & I loved how Jesse showed how much love towards Dustox after it evolved.

I personally think that Dustox's release was more heartstring tuggy than Butterfree's. For one, we knew Dustox longer than 20 episodes and while it wasn't the best.....or good most of the time it tried it's best and was still a great Pokemon for Jessie overall. For two, it hit way harder. With Butterfree, sure it didn't want to leave Ash but it still got the courage to leave and have a family. Dustox on the other hand is the dictionary definition of bitter sweet. You can feel the pain as Jessie smashes that Pokeball under her foot. She doesn't want to do this but it's not about her, it's about Dustox and it's happiness. It just hurts but....in a good way.

I think that's fair, but what I like about Butterfree's loss is how tight his storyline was. Much like Lapras, there wasn't much filler involved. The story is all meat.

Dustox also has her merits in winning a contest for Jessie and staying around throughout Hoenn, into Sinnoh where Wurmple is natively found too. It was a journey like watching your child grow up.

Ah, yes, Dustox... Sinnoh's version of Bye, Bye Butterfree, but just as emotional. Seriously... Team Rocket... Join the side of good already. After all, you have literally helped the main characters out numerous times and even brought couples together that didn't even involve your own Pokémon, like that one in that Battle Frontier Episode that I shall not name...

i would love it if geovony was about to do something extremely horrible (mew2 army) and Jessie and james rallied all the team rocket grunt to stop him by expressing how much they love Pokémon and what team rocket means to them. after that they take it over and convert it to some kind of pokemon charity/activist group. (plus would love a 1on 1 fight with Meowth and Persian where meowth wins do to his size and brains)

@@ProfessorAlexSilver With Ash's traveling companions rotating with each new region he explores and Team Rocket constantly chasing after him to try and steal his Pikachu, I think that their rivalry could only last for as long as May continued to be a main member of the cast

Who knows with Ash region hopping and J&J following him one of his trips to Sinnoh might let them cross paths. A Dustox mating ritual, sounds like something Cerise would want to look into.

“Dustox lost to pretty much everyone else” Oooof. Gonna need a Burn Heal for that one. XD Dustox may not be the best battler, like you said, she’s great for showing Jessie’s more tender side. I really like how Jessie’s clearly affectionate for it. Thanks so much for covering such a great bond and a great episode during the Sinnoh season, Professor!

I feel like this is going to be the case for basically every one of Team Rocket's pokemon except for maybe their late-era Sinnoh team and Mimikyu. I wish they would handle Team Rocket better. They're a non-threat because they never really win. So it feels like a waste when an episode's central conflict revolves around them. We know how it's going to end. They're much better when they're being reluctant heros. Aiding Ash and his friends. They were handled best in the Team Galactic arc. Speaking of Team Galactic, maybe fewer but more significant appearances would go along way for Team Rocket. Saturn's Toxicroak felt legitimately powerful in the anime. Like a gym leader's ace. Dustox and Seviper could have felt that strong but we seen them lose in almost every episode.

Watching this, I realize that Jessie and James should leave Team Rocket and start over as Poison type gym leaders. They could even build a sanctuary for the Ekans and Koffing in Hoen to keep them safe and reunite with Arbok and Wheezing!

It could certainly prove to be an interesting "what if" scenario to say the least. They have even had a couple of episodes in which they got to fulfill the role of gym leader: in the first, they took over the Viridian City gym in place of Giovanni (or the Boss, as they like to call him), while the second time they did, it was as part of a scheme of theirs that ultimately failed (as usual), and more notably, ended up with Brock catching his most iconic Sinnoh Pokemon, and fan favorite: Croagunk!

Not that you're referring to the entire Team Rocket. Their infamy for Pokemon cruelty really separated goodwill of Jessie, James from the bad heart of the rest of the team.

You can legit feel the emotion Jessie was going through when she made the decision to release Dustox. The way she smashed the pokeball was heart-breaking. Like the goodbye was just an emotional rollercoaster. Bitter sweet but damn the tears were flowing. 😭😭😭😭❤❤❤❤❤

I've always found Yanmega to be interesting, since it's the first Pokemon that Team Rocket ever owned that they successfully got away with stealing, and it even evolved during that very same episode!

Dustox story was a great one. We can say that Dustox was for Jessie what Beautifly was for May. The Pokémon that inspired them and improve them both to be the Coordinators that they are today. Sometimes I am thinking how it would have been if Dustox would be in the Grand Festival Final against May's Beautifly. Think it would been nice to see.

Jessie's expression on seeing Dustox was Unexpected!, Like a 360 degree turn(when I watched this ep for the first time, I really thought that she would be heartbroken or something and will always think of the marvelous beautifly she COULD have got, but good for Dustox that the trainer instead cares for it.)

Jessie’s Dustox was an early instance of team rocket having a third Pokémon That stayed on their team for a while. It counteracted Mays beautifly and for a while Jesse didn’t even know she was getting a Dustox as she thought she had a silcoon. Dustox exit was handled so gracefully like James cacnea and funny enough Dustox lasted longer than the better looking beautifly. While yanmega Eventually replaced Dustox the goodbye was very reminiscent of ash’s Butterfree leaving it was still very sad nonetheless as Jessie has had it longer than a lot of her other Pokémon. Great video.

I remember Jessie’s Dustox, she had it ever since it was a wurmpole back in hoenn. She used it in contest and there was this time when she got disqualified for using a gadget that creates sparkles. And later in the Sinnoh saga, she released it to be with its mate, I know it was hard for dustox to accept but she wanted it to be happy and that was the same thing Ash did for his butterfree years ago.

I remember crying from her releasing Dustox! There was definitely strong "Bye bye Butterfree" vibes! I had seen their bond grow so much, and it hurt to see her go. Hopefully, Dustox is having a great life with her family!

While Ash always had his competitive nature to explain why he leaves most of his Pokemon behind when he goes to a new region, the same could never be said about Team Rocket. James usually leaves his with his grandparents but for the most part, their Pokemon have to be released! But it leads to some great moments! (I still hope the Arbok & Weezing return! And poor Growlie!)

@@reimuhater2781 Only their Unova Pokémon were given to Giovanni as far as I know. The others were either released(Arbok, Weezing, Dustox, Mimikyu, etc.), given/traded away (Jessie's Lickitung, James' Cacnea), or stay either at Team Rocket HQ or with James' Grandparents.

I always find it cool when the show reminds us just how good of trainers Jesse and James are, like legitimately if they just cut out there Team Rocket nonsense they could be real contenders as trainers and coordinators, but because they spend so much time with there schemes and fighting people like Ash they never really get there.

The best thing about Jessie's Dustox to me is that it shows that even though Team Rocket are villains, they're still people underneath it all who only turned to a life of crime because they felt they didn't have any better options for their future. And with Dustox in particular, it shows that Jessie, not unlike myself, really, has unfortunately never had the best success in finding love, and proves that she's a caring person despite her short temper. It honestly makes me think that a big part of the reason why she's so bitter and quick to anger is not because she's truly a bad, mean person, but rather because she's just torn up inside about her past failures. It really makes her feel like a more three dimensional person that has had to struggle with her fair share of issues during her life, and it makes me kind of want to see her eventually turn her life around one day

Dustox's release was much sadder than butterfree. We knew it for a whole series. It had fun momemts with jessie and arguably jessie favourite mon. Unlike bte bye butterfree. Dustox wanted to stay with jessie but jessie was able to convince dustox to live a life of happiness and love.

I never cared about Dustox until that episode. It was heartwarming seeing Jessie wanting the best for her Pokemon, as well as Dustox finding love/living its own life. Absolutely beautiful episode

Even though Jessie's Dustox lost many battles, she was loyal to Jessie. Two bug group made great displays, that being the Dustox love display, and the Volbeat and Illimese love display.

LOVING these videos. ive been catching up on all these classes since i joined the curriculum late. I like the original English dubbed voice of Jessie's Dustox, which was voiced by Amy Birnbaum in the 4Kids Entertainment dub. She made Dustox sound pretty hilarious in my opinion.

Dustox was easily one of my favorite Team Rocket Pokemon, almost as high as Arbok and Weezing, Even tho the parting of her and Jessie was really heartwarming, the fact that it basically was just the "Bye Bye Butterfree treatmend" took a bit of this scene, also it gave me the other PTSD from back then ^^"

Jessie releasing her Dustox was equally impactful as her releasing Arbok. Even though Arbok was her first Pokémon (if I’m not mistaken), it felt like she had as much as a bond with Dustox. It was fun seeing her raise it from a Wurmple the same time May raised hers, and with Dustox, Jessie was actually really good at contest and Dustox basically started that for her, and Jessie even stopped cheating after a while and got creative with Dustox and her other Pokémon.

I really disliked how the rest of the Sinnoh squad & Unovan mons were sent off. It seemed like a major disservice to those Pokemon for jessie & james not to say goodbye. I especially thought it weird that James was willing to part with Mime Jr so easily. Poor guy should be back with his grandparents :/

The anime with Jessie and Dustox made me really love dustox and I always use it anytime I can. I took it all the way to Cynthia in Brillianf Diamond. Still one of my favorite poison type mons.
