Roundtrip Length: 10.7 Miles
Total Elevation Gain: 2300 Feet
Avg. Elev Gain / Mile: 430 Feet
Highest Elevation: 7255 Feet

Amazing view from the top of the other side, but a recommendation. At the top on the other side, make sure to go maybe .25-.5 miles on the trail that goes along the ridge of the red rocks. You get a spectacular view of Old Sun glacier that you don't get from right outside of the tunnel. Its worth it

This was awesome to watch. I live in Montana. My goal has been to hike all trails in Glacier. We did want to do the Ptarmigan hike. It’s difficult to get into Glacier now.

never taken that trail (Ptarmigan OR Iceberg) and NOT seen a grizzly bear. NEVER. love it!! one of my favorite Many Glacier based hikes. and there's lots of great hikes out of Many Glacier. For moose, take the Swiftcurrent Pass trail. good video...
