Today's vlog: We have a Q&A with all the random questions we received from you. Questions about Hermens ostomy, piracy in Somalia, how we do church on board and our relationship. Another time we will answer the questions about the topics: the goal of our trip, our background, the preparations of this journey, and future plans. Enjoy!
On the 17th of April 2020 we left marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :)
This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. We got the sailing- skills on our friends yacht 'Shalom' when we joined them on a trip from the Netherlands to Spain. / @sailingshalom . In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'. We left may 2018 and started vlogging from the beginning, we made 15 minute video's of our adventures, the nature and the many special people we met. We cooperated with OM to visit their projects and film them on our way. Since 19 of March we started with a daily vlog due to the corona situation. We plan to keep doing this the coming months.

I would like to say that you are an example of how to threat each other right . Although of course I see only what's on video, still it shines through in so much you are saying and doing to each other.. Thanks for testifying in a way, with that.

I sailed Egyptian coast from 16 years , and when I got an exit stamps the authority told me you are not allowed to stop along the coast because you are out of the Country ...How do you manage that ! Sometime I stop on Dolphin Reef or others but always I was very scared to do it ...Bravo for your courageous style of life ..Jack

Hello Jacques, I don't know exactly how it works. Agents told us too that it was 'actually' not allowed. But we have been checked only once in 2 months and these man from the coastguard did not seem to have any problems with it. We will answer this question more extstensively in one of the coming vlogs. We are happy to hear that there are other people enjoying to sail the red sea other then just passing trough :) did you enter from the med and leave from the med as well?

Hey! Ja beetje openheid maakt het leuk toch? Eehm we krijgen niet zo veel mee van de situatie, we zitten behoorlijk geïsoleerd op ons bootje :)

@@sailingmessenger8125 geïsoleerd 🤔 hoe kan dat dan nou weer wat hebben jullie gedaan dan 😁😁😁. Ff serieus nu, krijgen jullie dan niks mee dan van waar jullie zijn. Of van andere zeilboten in de buurt . Wanneer gaan jullie weer verder of zijn er nog geen plannen.

We hebben nog geen zeilboot gezien onderweg. 1x toen we in een baai lagen kwam er een groepje langs ergens in de verte, maar nooit dichtbij iets gezien. Toevallig net wel zeilers gesproken die we in Port Ghalib hadden ontmoet. Lijkt alsof het inderdaad ook hier begint te versoepelen.

No, most of them we don't really know. But we got to know the names of people that respond often. And we chat with them sometimes. So it feels like we know them a bit :)
