Update, by using a flahslight you can see the full form of the crack & is about three inches wide. I was fully compensated by Amazon. With a immediate refund to place a new order, a $100 refund to my Amazon account & a real feedback report followed by free pick up by the end of the week. It took two days & several complaints for a special rep to realize they allowed someone to damage a $2,000 investment, & the new unit doesn't come up until next week... It's a game of incompetence, & patience allowing someone to do the right thing. Me & my dad will just take our time setting it up next weekend following the instructions properly & using extra measures to ensure a safe setup, instead of trusting a frieght company to set something expensive up~

neker rivera wouldn't call the 930d a disaster.

I used to have the 930d, and there were a lot issues with that tv, from the first day bad light bleeds, bend frame, software problems etc.

+neker rivera Congratulations to you man for getting the two best TVs currently available in my opinion. The best LED TV in the shape of the Z9D and the best Edge-Lit LED TV in the shape of the 930E!

wouldt have wasted my money on a z9d unless it was the 75" , the 65" is a rip off at 5500 dollars, could buy a g6 OLED. But I am excited for the A1E from sony in may.

+JtTech sure it's not cheap, Especially since you prefer OLEDs then it's definitely not an option for you. But consider this, for someone who prefers LCDs, he would say 'I'm never going to pay 6000 dollars for an OLED and i can't even get half the brightness i'll get with the Z9D.' So i guess it's all about personal preference. Considering Reviewers such as Caleb from Digital Trends who is an unapologetic OLED fan, he said that the Z9D makes him believe in LCD's again! It is a TV with a record 640 Zones of FALD!! The best mix of OLED and LCD. Best of both worlds! Consider all this, and consider that the QLED Q9 which is EDGE LIT! Has been priced at 6000 dollars! You'll see that the Z9D is much better value. Again, that is my humble opinion.

If you already have a sound system, the A1E is a bit overpriced because you're also paying for the sound technology integrated into the TV. Between the MU8500 and 930e, the 930e is objectively better in picture quality. It'll likely have a more realistic color range than either OLED or the Samsung in average to bright scenes, but the OLED would be much more crisp and better defined in the dark scenes. If OLED is where you'd like to go, the B7 or C7 are great

I also had all those issues on the 930e, but calibrating it mitigated everything. It's not an OLED TV so going in with the expectation that it will be as crisp and black as OLEDs get is unrealistic. Fact is, OLED image retention is still a lingering issue, so unless buyers are willing to change their usage habits (and most will), it'll always be an issue with the technology. It's not as if OLED completely trumps LCDs in picture quality either lol.

Marcos Priateli 900e isn't really worth it IMO. To me it's kind of a waste of money since you don't get Dolby vision or the upgraded processor. Less longevity in terms of features. Might as well save up the extra $600 for the 930 so you get HLG, Dolby Vision and better HDR picture.

Sal Morales The 900E actually has HLG coming in an update later this year. As for Dolby Vision, only 12 bit panels can do it properly.

David Lagnado every tv is getting hlg update, even 2016 tvs. That's nothing we will be able to use anytime soon in the US market at least. Dolby Vision is more than just 12 bit capability. It has dynamic metadata that a 10 bit tv can utilize. It makes HDR rendering/shades more realistic on a scene by scene basis. Sony wouldn't of put Dolby vision into their 10 Bit tvs knowing it wouldn't work. Technically their X1 extreme processor does 14 bit then Down samples it to 10 bit. The reason it down samples is to have less banding. With that in mind Dolby vision would work perfectly. Also Dolby vision is meant to work on any tv no matter capability. It's a SoC that is smart enough to where it actually works with each tv differently based on spec of tv. It adapts to every tv. Dolby vision will be the best HDR format until probably HDR 10 dynamic Metadata becomes a reality in the next two years. Then that's when it'll be more of a competition. Current HDR 10 is static metadata, which does not dynamically adjust HDR rendering on a scene by scene basis

I just bought a 930e because of the same bright room situation, and it's great. Picture looks just as good in the day as it does at night. The settings described in this video makes the picture a lot better as well

Well, I have a Sony Xbr65x900c and it has some issues, so Sony is upgrading me to a new 900E. Not a good set?

you either get 30 ms with Sony and some of the best picture processing, picture quality and hdr and the best 4k upscaling money can buy with also a high quality build or a Samsung 20 ms with worse picture quality, a lot of judder, bad processing, all plastic build and the dreaded panel lottery and fake QLED. With Sony your always getting the panel you expect to get as long as you no which model your buying and wonderful tech inside each tv. I owned a ks8000, returned it for the crazy blooming it had, this tv with its FALD has minimum blooming which can be completely removed when you tweak the settings unlike Samsung. I just got this 900e at best buy and I love it! I've been playing Horizon Zero Dawn in HDR and WOW!! The 930e also has some slight blooming from what I saw at best buy so I would recommend the 900e same tv basically for alittle less and it has FALD and more size options.

Ryan 2e omg good luck on your sony brainwash. Any sony rep telling you input lag does not matter is lying his ass off, and have you actually asked what the x1 chip actually is and does, nobody knows it is all marketing. New 2017 samsungs will have best input lag in business again, qled has 100 % dci p3 color volume coverage which is different from dci p3 color gamut coverage. New q7 has better contrast better color than both 900 and 930 from sony. Go to a store with a magnolia inside bestbuy and you will see on the comparison wall that all premium brand tv's have no issue with motion.

BerkemasterNL sounds to me someone is Samsung brainwashed, I have owned the ks8000 and couldn't stand the horrible juddering and blooming, so this is coming from experience having owned tvs from both companies and yes you can get info on the new 2017 X1 HDR processor from Sony and everything it does for the TV just do a simple search, one main plus is the wonderful picture enhancements it does for sdr content and judder free motion for 24p playback which all Blu-rays are and which all Samsung tvs are horrible with. 900e has a FALD back light, not edge lit like Samsung. it's OK to be a Samsung fan like you that is if you like all plastic builds that come apart and the panel lottery not knowing if the TV u got will have a cheaply made one or not. the q7 and other qleds are fake qled and are actually performing worse with brightness then last year's Samsung models, and over priced for an LCD TV!!! my source is rtings. look at there reviews of the q7, they actually say it's a step down from last year. ouch :(

Ryan 2e first of all rtings is a review, based on someone with a certain taste for image, second of all go to a store where they put all screens next to each other like a magnolia inside a best buy for example, then you will notice that motion is not even an issue on any of the brands. I myself still use a 2014 panasonic plasma. Motion became an issue because sony suddenly said it was while it never was before, i never owned a single television that had motion issues, and now suddenly we need a x1 chip in your brain or else motion sucks yeah right. You sir fell for sony marketing, sony is pushing x1 chip, like samsung this year will push color volume, and lg will push contrast again and black level performance. But please for anyone who is a gamer do not fall for the sony, because input lag does matter. And for you ryan, the q7 trumps the 900e in picture quality, all it takes is to see them side by side and let your eyes do the judging, and not some sales person that will just try to push their product down your throat. And in the end it will also come down to personal taste, the ks8000 is obviously not your cup of tea, then do not get one and stay with your sony. Every brand has their strengths and weakness. Ow and since you like rtings so much, isn't the ks8000 the best under 2000 dollars everytime lol.
