Ashleigh, the coroner hesitated before saying “yes” when you asked her if they were found in beds. You didn’t ask if ALL of them were in beds. So by saying yes, she wasn’t lying if someone was actually on the floor. And she likely hesitated to verify if saying yes would be a lie and/or in line with what the police wanted the public’s to know at that point.

You say that this is in “direct conflict” but the arrest affidavit literally says that Xana was on the floor and Ethan was “also in in the room”. Based off that I knew right away that he was not in the bed either. In the audio played here the coroner says “yes” to victims being found in their beds but she wasn’t asked if ALL the victims were found in their beds. Also, as for Ethan being slashed, I just want to point out that in the PCA the description of Ethan’s injuries were different than the rest of the victims. Instead of saying he had visible stab wounds the PCA referred to the medical examiner and said his wounds were later determined to be caused by “sharp-force injuries”.

She wasn't thinking about DNA and she certainly wasn't thinking that she should spread it around, knowing she couldn't overpower the murderer. She was fighting for her life. Period. When confronted with a knife-wielding maniac dressed in all black in your home in the middle of the night, you fight. She likely couldn't run and was cornered by him. She would have been in a state of terror with her adrenaline pumping. Cuts on the hands from grabbing at the knife is something found in victims of stabbing murders. It is a common reflex to grab for the weapon that your assailant is using, even though it will only hurt you to grab at a blade with your bare hand. I'm sure Xana did everything she could to survive. I feel so bad for her and her friends. It's heartbreaking. But let's not make a superhero storyline up about this horror. Xana wasn't trying to spread her DNA. She was trying to live.

The affidavit doesn’t say “DM didn’t hear screams.” It lists a few things she heard and saw, but there will inevitably be more to the story that comes out at trial. Also real life is not always like horror films where people scream bloody murder at the top of their lungs. Sometimes people go into shock or just start fighting back or cry or have other responses. We have to wait until trial to get the full picture.

One thing about the timeline that always gets me, is the fact that Xana had ordered DoorDash and it was delivered minutes before they died. Nah… he was already IN the house prior to 4 am, when DoorDash dropped off food. I think he was either already there lying in wait when the kids came home from their outings OR he snuck in once they were all home and in their rooms - very likely at least one door or sliding glass door was left unlocked. Why those girls? - poor Ethan was just in the wrong place at the worst time. I agree it looks bad for this guy. He was in the same area, was allegedly seen by others on that campus when that was not the college he attended, found the girls on their Instagram and actually messaged one a few times. The Coroner did not contradict the facts coming out now. She omitted information. And with the first question about whether there were Stan wounds or a cut throat with any of them, you actually didn’t let her finish her answer, you may have found she might have said more if you didn’t jump in so quickly. But in truth it was early days, and I think the coroner did not want to shock anyone anymore than they already were. But she didn’t ‘change her story’. Some people were found in bed. And some people might only have had stab wounds. So no lies there, maybe you should learn to ask more specific questions.

This makes me even sadder, that young girl had a gdf horrific last moments. If BK is guilty (likely IMO) he deserves whatever he gets in prison.

I am picturing him frantically swiping at Ethan's head/neck in a backhand motion when he met him in the doorway... could be totally wrong, just a feeling

I don't think they were asleep just yet perhaps on the verge but that first knife attack was enough to wake them up , it makes no sense they were sound asleep while being stabbed multiple times.. Truly heart breaking

Hello. When Kaylee & Maddy called Kaylee's ex over & over. I haven't heard much about why they called. Especially, if it was SO late. When Kaylee made her last call, I think it was close to 4am or so. That would be close to the time she was killed. Anyone, have info. on that?

Wow had a feeling she fought back. I’m assuming maybe they heard something and she asked Ethan to check it out and then he was met with the killer..so sad that she had to witness her boyfriend getting murdered and at the same time coming to realization she may die..so scary. So proud of her for fighting until she couldn’t fight anymore. I do believe he went there to kill either kaylee or madi..I think he was met with Ethan in the hall so he just killed them too

I wonder if he came in the house went to Kaylees room first, she wasn’t in there so he went into Maddie’s room. Killed them both. Xana said to Ethan ‘There’s someone here’ so Ethan went out of the room to check just as he was coming downstairs to leave. Saw that Ethan had seen him, so launched at him and slit his throat. Ethan fell in the room on the bed, Xana realized and started to cry. Then he went into the bedroom and said ‘Don’t worry I’m going to help you’ perhaps closed the door and then went at Xana. I’m so glad she put up a fight, it’s completely tragic. Then he left but Dylan had opened her door / stood in the dark because of the noise and either he saw her, but was too exhausted to kill again or he was just focusing on leaving at that point and didn’t see her. This whole thing is super scary and upsetting! If you are not safe at home in your own bed, where are you safe?! Also can I just say the coroner/medical examiner was very vague, definitely not clear perhaps she wasn’t allowed to say much at the point of that interview. These young kids and their poor families it’s terrible, so so tragic. I hope justice is served!

This has been pretty clear to me since we heard D's statements. She heard "There's somebody here" (maybe just the uber eats driver for Xana?) She thought she heard kaylee playing with her dog. (This was where Bryan started. My opinion is with Maddie first which is why Kaylee had worse wounds, she had a little more time to fight) Then she heard crying. (This was Xana in the corner of her room witnessing Ethan being killed in the doorway) When asked if D was on the 2nd floor, an official said "yes, initially" So I think after D witnessed Bryan leaving (from Xana's room to the back sliding doors) she locked herself in her room & began texting the others. When only Bethany answered, D decided to run down to be with her for the rest of the night. Maybe it was one of those moments where it's dark, you're scared, & she just ran as fast as she could to and down the stairs with B. Then they're together, kinda scared but just assuming since everything was quiet & nobody else was answering that everything was fine, that guy was just someone's friend, and everyone must be asleep. They slept until like 11 because they were COLLEGE kids who were up late most likely drinking & didn't assume a quadruple homicide just happened above them. Then when morning came, everything was quiet still. They go up the stairs, look to the right and see Ethan laying in the doorway. They don't go closer bc they remember the weirdness of the night before so they call Ethan's brother to come check it out thinking he's just passed out. Then mayhem from there. Idk if it's true someone ran out and passed out and that was the unconscious person or if they were referring to Ethan. Someone said they were in so much shock all they could say was "dead"

And I don't think the coroner had conflicting statements. Just answering vaguely. When she said they were in their beds, she just meant bedrooms. And I think she described the wounds accurately, just less gruesomely.

The one who passed out was one of the surviving victims, they ran out the house and were hyperventilating and the 911 operator heard it over the phone so they sent cops

That makes sense to me and I imagine it was a while before she left her bedroom. In one of the interviews with Kaylee’s dad he was asked about Dylan. He said people need to leave her alone and then he said no one should have to see what they saw. He didn’t elaborate and didn’t answer any more questions. From that comment I took it to mean the two survivors found them later that morning. Most likely they ran outside and that’s when 911 was called. Honestly can’t imagine anyone staying inside after that. I’d have run too.
