Volkswagen and Audi make a heat shield covering that snaps together OEM. And they go for all their wiring for their catalytic converters and O2 sensors. You may be able to pick them up at an Auto Wrecker. All the best from Canada

Long term projects allways have little snags, don't worry you doing a great job, to work on a later date. Parts waggon is allways the same order then delivery date changes but that the nature of the beast. You are moving quiet fast now hope it's done soon.

Dear J.C. Smith projects couple. 👍👌👏 Very well done again and as always (video and work). Very impressive too. There seems to be simply nothing that you cannot do. What I like the most is, that you started to finish all your unfinished projects to get rid of them. Respectively to be able to sell vehicles and gain space in the workshop and garage back. This will be very rewarding, simultaneously good for your bank account and also relief personal pressure (3rd is the most important point). And it's definitely something I should do too, sigh. 🙈 Of course I'm eagerly looking forward to watch the next video. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and health in particular. To both of you of course.

I have same flare tool it's awesome. I have the full kit with push to connect and the gm Mopar trans cooler adapters. Mine has an extra part your don't have. It's a stop for the line when your tightening the clamp it stops pipe at end of die. It flips out of way after tightening clamp

Phenomenal work J.C! 😁👍 It's inspiring how you adapt and overcome. I hear you on the aftermarket items. Most of the time that stuff is supposed to be "plug and play" but usually still needs tweaked in some way. Better to just make what you need. Happy wrenching 🔧🔩

If you run into a problem where you can't pressurize the heating system for inside the car where the overflow tube goes to the overflow bottle for the restrictor in there to 5/16 and that'll fix all your problems with the coolant going into the heater

@@j.c.smithprojects talk and text is never good I built a 408 and put it in my suburban 2001 I needed a bigger radiator the radiator didn't come with the restrictor that you need for the coolant system to pressurize inside the engine the forest coolant into the heater And you need to restrict it in a 5/16 hole in a brass or aluminum slug inside the half inch hose going to the overflow bottle will fix this problem

How much psi can those nylon gas lines hold? Because mine are steel braided lines. Just curious. Also, you know the transmission and engine is going to get extremely hot. Might need to wrap those lines. Just noticed that.

Question JC. I watched all videos on this LS swap. Why did you not use the 4L60-E instead of the TH400. the overdrive would have given better gas mileage.
@j.c.smithprojects
@j.c.smithprojects Жыл бұрын
this truck has a rear end ratio of 2.73. an overdrive would only be useful if he wanted to do 90 mph or more. simple is reliable! the 400 is definitely simple and reliable. between the increase in hp, the light weight of truck and rear end ratio, it should do mid to high teens for mileage.
