It is really sad his mom and my mom sound like they could be related by another mother cuz my mom it still is verbally abusive. When we were younger when my brother he would not sit still while my mom brushed his hair she broke a brush over his head. Then one other time he was crying so she felt he's being a sissy she put him in a dress and pushed him outside. I had a speech problem and she said this is what you sound like when you talk. And today she still mean as a snake to my dad and number of times has called me fat. I never could figure why my father stayed with her as long as he did.

My father was sexually abusive to me from ages 4-16. This was in the 60's and it was very taboo to speak about. He would also drag me around by my very long hair. He killed my cat in front of me and said, "Here love it now" and broke his neck threw him at my feet. Smashed a 10 gallon fish tank during the night. We had a collie, and my father would kick him, and of course my dog would nip at him. Again, he would kick him. He was a mean man. I'm sad for Johnny. I, get it. I love his voice, so calm and soothing. How can you not, love this man? His smile or slight grin, so endearing.

I can listen to him 24/7. His voice is so calming as well as sexy. He is an amazing man with all that he can do & all that he went through. The biggest heart ever & his success never changes the way he appreciates his "relatives". You can feel the love in his heart for people, and its unbelievable that an evil woman such as his ex took advantage of such a wonder caring man. He had a lot of patients with that evil witch, I'm sure she brought back bad memories of how he was treated when he was a boy. All the bad things she did to Johnny will eventually come back to haunt her. What goes around comes back around! warning:stay away from that evil 😈 man or woman. She will destroy you....pure evil..... I hope Johnny will do more movies. He is so talented. He truly becomes the

Judith Martel - ditto here... I have always adored him, and, his talents; but when he was on that stand my heart went out to him and I wanted to embrace him with heartfelt love. I also cried for the pain he went through as a child and witj the AH. I, too, fell deeply and irretrievably in love with him forever. I was in hospital of recent and when nurses asked if I needed anything, I replied, "Yes. Johnny Depp." They all smiled. I was in pain, but not when I thought of him. He is an Angel of Blessings.

Johnny lived in my neighborhood in miramar Florida and we attended the same high school for a year I was 2 years older! His dad worked for the city of miramar at the water Dept and I remember walking past his home hearing and seeing him and his first band members. At school he was quiet and kept to himself. When he became more well known we where all taken back and kinda knew he was someone special!

One of us has also experience such difficulty in our childhood that such unforgettable experience especially living on a single parent while growing up. And it is so horrible really f u had only living with ur own mother. It's difficult really that there's no father on ur side. Seems to be u r standing only with only one toe.

I do all so! childhood abuse is so hard to take and hard to get out of! Going to school and being black and blue all over was not new to me and others! One of my Teachers called the law at East Carter High School in Grayson KY! I was never beaten again after that!

That’s how he became a beautiful soul. Had he gone the other way, he’d be dead, in an alley, years ago. But, his destiny was in place, before time was ordered. We include him, & his family every evening when we{my husband & I}say prayers. We have included him since the onset of 💩’s 1st lie. Wrong cheek, wrong colour, for her bruise, absolutely no swelling,(when you fake bruises, you must pinch the area, till the cheek, or the eye. You can’t have a person wind up( 💩& swing the phone at her face-Turds words, NOT MINE)with his right hand, & hit the right cheek. Logic dictates that it would hit the left cheek. These are things I’ve wondered about since they happened. Her bruise on her right cheek was concave! Bruises don’t go inside your mouth. They swell outwardly. What a phony! And, no one noticed the sparkly glitter blue eyeshadow on her eye- brow, above the left eye. Oh, it was there! Goodnight…

People that are abused as a child. Will often be the opposite to their children.Which is kind & loving.Both physically & emotionally.And pick a partner that is loving and kind to them. I chose a man that was so kind & loving to me ,like my father had been to me. Just like Johnny's other woman were loving & kind back to him. AH unfortunately used Johnny's kindness & love against him.💔.Johnny will find another woman that will love him for himself. The kind & loving Man he is.

Johnny was to dog gone nice and polite during the trial. Amber Turd showed alot of hate and anger. She had it ALL backwards , Johnny was the one that had the right to be seriously angry at the trial. He was the one abused not her. The nerve of her saying her dog stepped on a bee and her saying he could not look her in her eyes because he's guilty. She had pure evil in her eyes when she stared at him during the trial. I'm no Doctor but it's obvious that she is insane. I once knew a narsisitic woman that was so very jealous of anyone or anything. She was so dumb that she didn't know why her Doctor put her on Xanax. But she was to stubborn to take the pills. She didn't go see a Doctor because she's a narsisitic person. She saw the Doctor over a minor health issue , but she talked like a me , me , me , type of person. The Doctor knew she was a narsisitic nut so he wrote her a Xanax prescription to calm her nutty mind down. I tryed to be her friend but I felt like I needed Xanax just to deal with her.one day I just told her to stop calling me and to not come to my home anymore , I was tired of her narsisitic ass. This woman made her whole family miserable . No one that I know in this small town I live in likes this woman. But in her narsisitic mind she thinks the whole town adores her. She's fat and ugly and she truly believes shes very beautiful. She annoys anyone she comes in contact with. But she love bombs people when she first meets them then after a little while her true colors come out. She also love bombs anyone she knows that has a good income . She leeches and mooches off others. And she has a decent income , she's just greedy for money. She don't want a slice of a person's pie , she wants the whole pie. I swear she must be related to Amber.

It's too bad that your Dad couldn't take you with him. He should never had said to you that ,"You are the man now. It is good that you have forgiven him I know this sinario all to well. My parents were divorced when I was only 2. But he was my Savior. But I lived with my mother & Stepfather. You are so right. You raised your children the opposite of how you were raised. JD has endured great emotional & physical pain. His hardships should have hardened him, but instead he’s genuinely sincere, compassionate & kind, perhaps influenced by his father. A person’s childhood forms much of their personality, life & aspirations! Not everyone has the strength to stop the passage of abuse from 1 generation to the next. He deserves much respect & admiration!

This is such an emotional story for those of us that have experienced trauma. It is real to desperately need to medicate to make it all go away for even a short period of time. This testimony is a testament to the love he feels for his mom. Facts without anger, but love and understanding of a wounded human. It explains how he has loved so deeply and generously all his life. When he talked about knowing how to raise children, I knew exactly what he was saying. That’s what my sister and I said when we both had kids. If you’ve been through it, it makes absolute sense. He didn’t know it but he married Amber in attempt to relive what he went through with his mother and fix her. Of course it doesn’t work that way but many people have to try. AH could never be this stripped down and honest.

...it could also be a sense of 'normality' in his life. That is a factor in abusees who keep going into situations like this. Those damn abusers/narcs - i call them pencils - will never know the damage they inflict on others. I applaude him (JD) for moving on. me, the demons still haunt me... it is almost as if we need the turmoil in our lives. I am an SA / DV survivor.

It’s so hard to understand how AH was able to have him talk to her with his gentle, soothing voice any time she wanted…and yet she routinely screamed at him and verbally abused him. She threw away the gifts he could give her. He was so much more patient with AH than I would have been. She nearly destroyed this beautiful human being. Thank God he escaped her! I have always loved Johnny Depp and have had posters and pictures of him in my house for many years, as I do now. I, too experienced physical and verbal abuse from my XHusband of the worst kind and was lucky to get out with my life. If I could imagine that I could be with anyone I chose, I would choose Johnny Depp. He is just the kind of man I would have dreamed about in my youth. Kind, patient, understanding, caring, soft spoken and loving. I always thought when I first got married that we would grow old together and take walls together holding hands but that did not happen for me. I was married to that man for 25 years and left him a few times but he always wooed me back and I went back, I thought at the time, for the sake of my 3 children. I am 72 yrs. old now, have never remarried and only dated a few times since our split. I was so touched hearing Johnny talk about about his painful past and being married to a woman so like his mother. I wish him all the best and pray he will find the woman of his dreams that will have all the beautiful qualities that he has. You are such a beautiful person Johnny and my wish for you is that you'll find a woman as beautiful as you, inside and out. By the way, you are also the most handsome man than I have ever laid eyes on.

Johnny was so right about raising kids … If you talk to your kids,explain things to them.. they do understand and they’re kinder people because of it !…. I woke up last night at about midnight and couldn’t sleep. I listened to this for about a half an hour and fell asleep. I then had a dream that I helped Johnny Depp put an earring back into his ear. It was one of the gold hoops that he wears. It was a great dream.

Johnny needs to read for Audible! His voice is so smooth and stable I am instantly calmed. Just that monotone sound is great and relaxing, he could just mumble incoherent words and peacefulness comes over me. Please just keep talking!

He always ran away from violence. He never hit his own mother, who is so abusive to him. It is part of his nature to run and retreat. When things like this happened to him and one, Amber was doing the things he was she was doing he would leave and she hated it because she just wanted to fight. It’s part of her personality because she’s bipolar, I feel so sad for him to have to go through this in his childhood and then have to deal with this in his adulthood with her. I hope she just crawls in a hole and just lives her life and leave him alone and let him move on and enjoy the rest of his life and happiness with his kids.

She's not bipolar. She has borderline personality disorder. Very different. Bipolar disorder is a *mood* disorder, like depression or anxiety disorders. Borderline personality disorder is a Cluster B personality disorder in the same group as histrionic personality disorder, (which I believe AH has also been diagnosed with, though I may be wrong), narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder. There can be a bit of overlap in the symptoms of these disorders, which is probably why so many people called AH a narcissist during the trial.

I had always been a hard-core fan but never really knew anything about his life as a child growing up. This had to be hard for Johnny to tell the world. He is an amazing man. I admire him for being so open and honest about what it is to be Johnny Depp. It's a story about a someone who came from a very disfunctional home who grew up to be one of the most ironic men that touched so many different people's lives in so many different ways. He had a life that most of us can't begin to imagine 💔. This trial showed us that Johnny is not your average player in Hollywood. The truth about who he is much different from what most of us may have thought. We learned that he is kind hearted intelligent humble generous thoughtful compassionate loving father who only wants to love and be loved. He is a man who has felt great pain and came through extreme heartache to show the world that he has what most people only dream about but is just as vulnerable as anyone else. I honestly appreciate all that he is. Love ❤ Johnny

I fell in love with Johnny Depp after watching this testimony!💔 My heart broke for him when describing his childhood. I pray his Mother expressed remorse for her behavior. But again, she’s diagnosable. And Johnny married a version of his Mother. He needs therapy to get over that he’s deserves much more than he is willing to accept!!

This is why he survived Heard, he was hardened to abuse, from not just the physical but the mental abuse also. One learns from a very young age how they build up just before they release Hell onto you. Hide, be quite, make yourself small. This came into play when Heard would start, take yourself away from the abuser. When JD spoke he was the voice of all that truly know abuse. 💗

It's been said that a mans' first love is his mother. A boy learns so much from the mom. Parents should uphold children in their hands, in protectiveness and love. He and his siblings were denied. I get where he's coming from. It's a terrible heart wound. It affects every aspect of your life. What a burden he carries. He still was the man of the house when he took care of everyone.

I feel this has truly been his hero's journey - to become fully integrated and to heal the trauma, all of this needed to come out, for him to be seen completely, nothing to hide, and to be utterly, totally received and loved by all of us, the world over as a result. He is so worthy of it!

This is healing listening to this. My dad and his mom were from the same model, and his dad and my mom were totally alike. Listening to someone talk about it in such a empathetic way is incredibly healing. And yes, you have to create and it has to come from a place of truth.

I know exactly what Johnny talks and felt about his childhood, I could have been my stepmother. 😢 I watch this again, it's August 5th, because Johnny became my HERO in many ways. 🙏❤️ Sounds strange, but I also watch the trial over and over again, because I miss his warm voice, his warm true eyes and to watch his pretty mouth. Many times I would loved to hug him and tell him, everything will get better for you and your beloved once. I'm not American, so my English is very limited, sorry because I would love to leave so much more here, but guess nobody cares anyway. We need much more JD's in the world and non of AH.

Watching this is heartbreaking but he had to say it to help others understand him. I admire his strength to take this on. He really put himself out there. So now let us leave him in peace about it. We know who he is and how he thinks and how he works only because he allowed us to see and hear it. I believe it is his legacy. Now he and we are free to enjoy him and all that he creates. Thank you Johnny for giving yourself and your private hell to us. Some parts of your story is also part of my story regarding your mom and your dad. You could be speaking of my mom and dad. It was a harsh upbringing. But we all (ten siblings) came through it better and we are all good and caring and attentive and giving parents. Our parents, as yours, were the best example on how not to parent. I love my kids and grandkids and they love me. No one is afraid. Or worried. So thank you mom and dad for showing how not to be you. Still I loved them.

Wow, you opened up about everything... this was an aha moment for me... I felt like I just went to a therapy session, which I have tried. You have given me more than I got in therapy... just want to say I will listen to this each time I try to cover my past with medication or alcohol. You have changed me....in a good way! I see just telling it like it is, makes you address what is going on in your head. Just want to thank you, because I need to do this. I've kept secrets and I don't know if it's because I'm ashamed of myself or thought I caused the abuse. That I was so weak? I have been going in circles for a long time. I'm an invert and just want to stay somewhere safe. If I go out guys just hit on me and I can't stand it when they invade my privacy. I freak out and have a panick attack and then the cycle starts to go back in my head, to everything that I went through and I just want to forget it, by drugs. Just, thanks for what you have opened up about. It really helps me to understand what has happened is not my fault. I have to just go forward and learn from what has happened to me...but I still know I can't go out in public because it will set me off each time. Thank you, for telling your story. X

Johnny is an amazing man. My heart broke hearing about his childhood. Then for him to have to go through a very similar experience but worse when he got with AH again was heartbreaking!! Johnny has always been one of the most humble, loving, caring actor ever!! That golddigger used him for his fame to try to advance her career, because she's a horrible actress!! To hear that she got him hooked on drugs and tried to overdose johnny because she thought she would get all his money and assets is so scary and disgusting after that man took care of her and all her friends for all those years. AH belongs in jail for all she has done!!

I was in tears when he talked about this. My mom was mentally ill but luckily she was not abusive like this but I did witness nervious breakdowns where she just spoke nonsense or at times didn't finish sentences or she would light every light, candle or oil lamp in the house. One time she did charge at me during an episode of a break down but just when I thought she was going to hit me she grabbed my face and kissed me. I was a kid and grew up full of anger, but now that I am older and have kids of my own I can reflect back. I now realise that my mom was an amazing women that did an amazing job all while dealing with an unbelievably hard and cruel illness with a strength that is beyond any human capacity. I now have nothing but the utmost respect for her. I never got to tell her that. . May she rest in peace now❤

My mother was mentally ill. She would sneak up behind us and smash her fist into our faces. I actually understand what you went through. I never treated my child with anything but love. I know what living in fear was like. Needing eyes in the back of your head. I never knew there were others like me. My son was raised with all the love I could give him. I never would want him to go through what I went through.

Just one word RESPECT for this man ! 🙏 I think there's really very little personns in the world who can have the generosity, the altruism, the humility of JD after all he had passed through ! I remember this when he was in court 3 months ago and it was the hardest thing to hear 👂 how he explained how his mother was and all the abuse he took and what his dad went through too and it made me cry 😢 and sad 😞 for him why because what I went through as a child and my brother too and hearing johnny help me understand him more and know him more and my heart ♥️ goes out to him and his family and what he went through with amber and he didn’t deserve what happened to him and from time I was born. Went through so much abuse and domestic violence and Verbal abuse I know where johnny coming from and I’m so glad he free from everything he went through in his life and even after everything he went through it never changed his heart ♥️ and his personality who he is and I’m so proud of him for telling his story of his life and what amber did to him and I went through something with my ex husband and I was bullied and pick on and belittle me and he hit me once on my face before I met him I went through abuse and domestic violence years later again and I’m free from all that and johnny story help me stand up for my self and when it comes to my ex husband

I grew up in an unstable home. Hearing Johnny talk about his childhood is heartbreaking. We learn as young children, when we have an unstable parent, how to sense when the switch is about to flip and bad trouble was coming. We learn to make ourselves as small and invisible as possible, to retreat and hide from having that anger and abuse directed at us. I remember my father had a white belt, we called it his Elvis belt, that he used on us. My mom would use whatever was handy. A spatula, a wooden spoon, and often would have us go pick out a switch to be whipped with, if we didn’t get a good enough switch, we would get it worse. Johnny used the lessons he learned from childhood trauma to deal with conflict in his own adult life. He is non confrontational, will shut down emotionally, and remove himself from the situation.

Hearing this reminds me of my childhood. My mother could be verbally, emotionally and physically abusive. She could turn on the guilt and blame even if she was the cause of it. If you brought up something from the pass she would say she didn't remember it happening. She was loving and attentive but she was also narcissistic and abusive. Cool to see that i can relate to Johnny in this way. Always admired him. 👍

He needs to do a sleep story for the Calm app! I could listen to him read the phone book! But in all seriousness, its heartbreaking to hear his tragic upbringing. But to see how humble, loving and kind he is says a lot about his strength and character.

I had a very tragic death happen at my home, an unreal and unimaginable event that has made life undearably difficult. Listening to his voice has helped me thru the most difficult days, sometimes on a loop. Not just the calming sound of his voice or his raw and real story, but the message he gives, his view of life, his back story, the sense of hope. He has helped me in ways he could never know ❤
