Along with asanas, the breathing pattern gives deep conscious relaxation to the body, mind and sharpens the senses. It increases self-awareness, which in turn increases the energy levels.

My yoga guru once told us ( in 1997) that there was one great yogi who used to perform 108 Soorya namaskars everyday and did no other exercises. I was so inspired that I slowly reached to the level of performing 36 Soorya namaskars ( at 3-45 A.M) everyday. Thinking back I wonder whether I did the right thing by pushing myself to this extreme level? Or is it THAT which is still keeping me on my own two legs after all these years? Also "Why at 3-45 A.M "??? I had to get ready and attend my VEdic Chanting class at 5 A.M and had to walk a mile in the darkness all alone, to attend it! Those days were safer for women!

36 Surya namaskaras everyday is not a bad thing if done right, provided your body was given enough time to recover. Rest, the time will tell. Lovely! Yoga and vedic chanting early in the morning🙏 what a way to start the day! 😍 I'm sure the struggle was worth it😊

Hi mam. Thank u for this beautiful follow along suryanamaskara video! Is it necessary to have a yoga mat?can I use something else as a replacement? Also, when is the best time to do this? Sorry for the loaded questions mam 😅

Hello! Yoga mat is not a necessity. You could do it on the floor or grass or wooden floor as long as it is not slippery. You could use blanket or carpet as well. Ideal time is during sunrise. As the name suggests, it is sun salutation! But there is no harm in performing them during other times of the day.

Thank you for the wonderful explanation , I am a mother of two kids . After delivery it is very hard to get back to dance . I saw your video to getting back to dance is there some yoga for lower tummy to be reduced . It is hard to gain back the core strength for dancing . Can you help on it . Thanks

Ma'am,very nice video. But I have a doubt. In our school,we were taught 12 poses and I am wondering how it has only 10 poses. We were also taught a mantra which we need to chant while doing the Surya Namaskara and that also had 12 parts.I think you missed the rabbit pose. The mantra we learnt is:Om Hiranmayena Paatrena Satyasya Pithitam Mukham Thathva Bhushana Aaparnu Satya Dharmaaya Dhrishtaye (Said at beginning) Om Mitraaya Namaha(1st pose) Om Ravaye Namaha(2nd pose) Om Suryaaya Namaha(3rd) Om Bhaanave Namaha(4th) Om Khagaaya Namahe (5th) Om Bhushane Namaha(6th) Om Hiranyagarbaaya Namaha(7th) Om Marichaye Namaha(8th) Om Aadityaaya Namaha (9th) Om Savitre Namaha(10th) Om Arkaaya Namaha(11th) Om Bhaaskaraaya Namaha(12th) Have I gone wrong somewhere?Please clarify,ma'am.But all your videos are so nice☺️.

Pranamasana or Prayer Pose Urdhva Hastasana or Raised Arms Pose Uttanasana or Standing Forward Bend Ashwa Sanchalanasana or Equestrian pose Phalakasana or Plank Pose Ashtanga Namaskar or Eight-Limbed Pose Bhujangasana or Cobra Pose Parvatasana or Inverted V Pose Ashwa Sanchalanasana or Equestrian Pose Uttanasana or Standing Forward Bend Urdhva Hastasana or Raised Arms Pose Tadasana or Mountain Pose These are the 12 poses done in this video.
