In this week’s episode, we take our foggy forest landscape photography journey to Bethania, North Carolina. This morning hike follows the Black Walnut Bottom Trail, which takes you through both a beautiful forest filled with you guessed it, Black Walnut trees, and a wide-open meadow which is the perfect playground for insects and birds! Photographing in fog is one of my favorite weather conditions. It can calm down a busy scene, invoke a feeling of calm or eerieness depending on the subject, and can really make an otherwise boring scene into something beautiful!
I am so grateful I had the flexibility to go in late to work so I could take advantage of the fog! Fog is beautiful any time of the year, but in late winter, I find fog even more beautiful as it gives a completely different feel than fog in the spring or summer. This is a trail I look forward to going back to over and over again!!
