Around The World by Motorcycle
TeapotOne is the story of Bruce Smart's epic 74,000 miles, 54 countries in 442 days, solo & unsupported around the world by motorcycle adventure, to keep a promise.
From 1st October 2012 to 14th June 2014, Bruce Smart rode a Suzuki GSX-R1000 74,000 miles around the world, solo and unsupported, through 54 countries to keep a promise he made his mum before she lost her battle with cancer. There were ups, there were downs, highs and lows, but one aspect shone through, the overwhelming friendship and support shown from almost everybody he met around the world.
From Europe to South East Asia, Russia to Australasia, South America to the USA and Canada, almost everybody he met opened their lives and homes to a complete stranger, and the journey grew and grew.
The entire RTW adventure was caught on film, from issues with motorcycle shipping, to the most dangerous road travelled, this travel blog, or travel vlog, is a documentary you just can't miss.
-----
The 4th episode in the TeapotOne Around The World by Motorcycle adventure covers the restart of the trip following the Delta Energy Services involvement. After getting ready to go once more, I leave in a somewhat more discreet fashion, begining the trip with a quick circumnavigation of the UK, before crossing into Europe and heading North. This vid covers right up to on the way to Nordkapp in Norway.

Squire’s Cafe, wow that brings back some happy memories of when I was a young guy and lived in the UK. Wizzing around on my YAM 250 RD. Plus back in the 90s me and 11 others toured Scotland on our bikes, what a blast. It rained all bloody week but didn’t dampen our spirits one bit.

Ok - admitted: I'm about 5 years late to watch this incredible series. I'm doing it from the Mid West USA as I've relocated from Denmark 4 months ago. I'm sitting here reminding myself of my own fantastic Arctic Circle motorcycle tour last year which was my 50 yrs birthday gift to myself - and I've just realised: I'm actually living my life!! Your mum was so right - that's what we all should do. Thanks

OK. I'm back picking up this series again. Man I wish I had more time to watch videos! 🤣 "I'm not just talking about the red light district of Amsterdam" But I get the feeling that was part of it! 🤣🤪 The Netherlands has Assen though! Did you stop there? Norway looks amazing! I'd love to tour that part of the world. Even the time off the bike in the cities looked pretty cool.

Jared I KNOW!! So sorry, probably my greatest regret is that I didn't find out more about production and filming techniques before I went. The sound is terrible for loads of parts throughout the entire series, my apologies. I've since leant though, and my new weekly vlog series uses professional mics with wind socks so should be much better. Every Wednesday at 7pm GMT

Hi Bruce, did you do the editing while you were out on the road, or did you have a big stack of memory cards to go through when you got back home??
@teapotone
@teapotone 7 жыл бұрын
+Aron de Vos No I edited on the road, generally once every 4-6 weeks I'd book myself into a hostel or cheap motel for 4-5 days and write the blog, write the article for Fastbikes Magazine, then do the vlog. A lot of work but hopefully you all enjoy the vids 👍

Great trip Scott. Norway is the highlight for me there, have to do Trollstigen, Atlantic Highway, Lofoten Islands, Arctic Circle Raceway, Tromso (most northerly city) to name only a few. Every ferry your ride, fjord you cross, hill you crest and corner you round, brings another ‘Wow’ moment. The scenery is just epic. Enjoy

Maybe I missed it, but of all the bikes, why a sport bike? It barely made it off the start line before the frame gave out in the earlier episodes. All these adventures sound amazing, I wish you recorded and shared more of the actual riding rather than just taking about how awesome the experiences were.
