They literally did Finn dirty in this movie. They literally made him a interesting character in episode 7 to a side clown in this movie. The funny part was they were kinda pointing out he was force sensitive in episode 7 but dropped it in episode 8.

They didn't drop it. Finn keeps saying "Rey I wanted to tell you..." blah blah blah and it's explained in interviews and the novel that Finn was trying to tell Rey he was force sensitive and then that was going to explain why he defected. All the other kids who defected that he ran into were all supposed to be force sensitive. They were going to explain a bunch of shit that wasn't in the final movie and I have no idea why not. Instead, he's just mister overly attached wannabe boyfriend.

When Rian Johnson got JJ's work, he didn't know how to make Luke's disappearance make sense. As he said, it couldn't be cowardice for exemple. What it shows is that he doesn't understand cowardice since Luke was a coward, and that the issues come from TFA and Rian Johnson wasn't able to fix it. And not just that, he made it worse. That said, Rey didn't beat Luke. He easily and casually disarmed her in the first part of their fight which was with sticks. Then she pulls out a deadly weapon and he said "hell no I'm not doing that" and ended the fight. As if someone in a fistfight pulled out a firearm. The other guy would obviously do the same. Doesn't mean he lost the initial fight. But in then end, especially now that we've seen it happen several times in Kenobi, Luke should've immediately Force Pulled the lightsaber to his hand and ended the fight that way. Showing the same thing in that he refuses to fight against her with a deadly weapon (sh*t's going way out of hand), whilst showing he's still the more competent fighter which would be more consistent lore-wise. Also, what definitely should've never happened is this half-*ssed attempt at a Star Wars sequel trilogy. Cheers from France! 🍻

I feel like they brought it all back with the disney series, but not having a central producer or anybody steering the ship for the sequel trilogy was such a mistake. People hate force awakens for dumb reasons, but it served its purpose of giving you something familiar yet different and easing people into new star wars. Even people who hate the movie came away thinking "That was ok", and that's all it needed to be. I just don't understand why they gave the next movie to Johnson and everybody read the script and everybody greenlit the damn thing. The only thing I can think of is when Rian Johnson signed his contract, he stipulated that Disney could not interfere with his movie. Then rather than make a good star wars movie he just wanted to be clever. Rise of Skywalker is hard to blame people for because if you watch videos on the development of it...ugh. Abrams and Terrio only had a few months to re-write the script and figure things out before production started. And the bones of the original Jurassic World guy's script are still there. Then again, who knows what star wars fans want. People like Mandolorian but there's literally bare bones to the episodes. Barely written. Rip offs of westerns and samurai movies. They are basically concept art with words to tie it together, and then they pour plenty of fan service on it. And the simplicity is GREAT. Even if you have a bad episode, you have something else next week. Obi-Wan was a terribly written show that was basically just written to get us a really good duel and catharsis. It succeeds in that and making Vader a mean mofo.

The one thing is they actually contradict themselves THREE times with the Holdo Maneuever in different pieces of media. In the Last Jedi, both Poe and Hux know what she's doing once they see her turn around with Poe saying, "She's not running away..." and Hux screaming, "Fire on that Cruiser!!" indicating that they know exactly what she's doing and what it's gonna do. Then in Episode 9, they just write it off as a "One in a million" which wouldn't warrant that response in TLJ if it wasn't even really possible. Then in the books they explain it as, "Oh, the Raddus had experimental shields!" as if that makes it any better, since if that was the case then why not make that the main way of taking things out from now on. Holdo and her plan were idiotic, as if the First Order just didn't have windows to see the transports, and they also have "decloaking scans" so why aren't they just running that constantly? Supposedly those transports just don't have hyperdrive for some reason, even though much smaller ships do, which I assume is a quick canon fix they made in a book somewhere to just avoid the very obvious, "Why don't you take the 30 transport ships and just lightspeed away in 30 different directions?" which they still could've done away with their main ships, lightspeed away, transport troops to some nearby planet, run from the First Order again, then lightspeed when you can, rinse and repeat until most the Resistance is safe? You have droids, why not have one pilot and do that so everyone can get away. The Dreadnought was also ridiculous since instead of firing on the preparing to jump to hyperspace ships, it just destroys the base on the planet, like why?? A hastily abandoned base is perfect for information, they could've sent teams to find out where the Resistance gets money, supplies, where other bases are, or literally anything they might've left while leaving in a rush. Plus, the Dreadnought is so stupidly designed that it literally only has anti ship turrets on the top side of it. The super lasers on the bottom are also like the most powerful shown at that point meant to literally melt planets' crust and immediately destroy planetary shields, so Poe's plan actually saved the entire Resistance, since if that ship was involved in the chase, it's turrets would've made much shorter work of the shields if not bypassed them immediately, so Holdo and Leia acting like Poe was some asshole for attacking the Dreadnought is one of the worst things they could've done, I'm surprised Poe just didn't hop into his X-Wing and be like, "Aight, I'm gonna just leave the Resistance now." I'm not even done with the video, I'm only like 30 minutes in but this movie pisses me off so god damn much.

Once we come to understand that they were not making a movie in the traditional sense. This was intended to DESTROY the original Star Wars Trilogy of the 1970's and 80's. It took them several movies to do it. Part of the destruction process involved nonsensical or contradictory or meaningless plot elements which apparently were intended to trivialize, de-legitimize and subvert all the basic aspects of the story. They succeeded.

I hate that in TFA, Han makes it a point TWICE to pass through physical objects unaffected by entering hyperspace. First was the haul of his own cruiser and the second was the shields on Starkiller base. Then Rian was like, nah, it goes boom.
@TankHunter678
@TankHunter678 Жыл бұрын
Their excuse in TFA was that they were already lined up to exit the landing bay, all that was in front of them was an energy barrier that kept in the atmosphere while the Starkiller base shield was supposed to be a case that they fly through during the shield refresh which happened in a fraction of a second every second thus both cases being very technically clear line of sight. Neither the atmosphereic barrier nor the base shield in theory would be able to block the jump. Course in prior star wars lore you actually have to slow down through an atmosphere barrier, and base shields are like in the prequels where you have to enter them slowly as they are designed to block high velocity objects like weapons. There is also the issue that a planet puts out a massive gravity shadow in hyperspace which actually makes the destructive collision range of a planet larger then the planet physically is. This is why you drop out of hyperspace on the edge of a system, so you do not blow yourself up. So technically Rian Johnson was closer to star wars lore then JJ Abrams, the point where he messed up is that the collision would happen in hyperspace and nothing outside of hyperspace would be effected, as hyperspace is an entirely different dimension unaffected by normal space aside from gravity mass shadows.

16:10 The reason I absolutely hated G1 Cliffjumper is how not only did he disobey a direct order to not engage the Decepticons, but he missed a clear shot at Megatron which almost got one of his teammates killed. This same shit goes on to accuse another teammate of being a spy...the same teammate that stopped the Decepticons from escaping the planet to potentially win the war! Holdo is the same piece of shit except she's trying to force Poe's hand to take action. Everything bad resulting from the Resistance once Leia was out is ALL on her. But unlike Cliffjumper who admitted he might have a hole in his head, Holdo did it intentionally partly because she likes him? WTF!

Rey being a nobody also sucked. TFA alluded to her being related to someone (probably Luke) and that's why Rey has the flashback of her parents she did. Plus it would help to explain her insane power levels and skills, if she was say Luke and Mara's daughter who was trained then while a kid, then stolen away/presumed dead. Also Rey's being a "nobody" is useless to Rey the character, it's only another poke in the eye to the audience. Rey didn't think/care that she was related to anyone important, she only wanted to be cared for by her parents. That her parents loved her, and would come back to her. Which is why in TFA she thinks she can't leave Jakku, and wants to go back to it, until she admits they are dead, and begins to move on. Also there entire Prequels are filled with Jedi not related to anyone, heck Yoda and Obi-Wan aren't related to anyone, so the concept of 'nobody' Jedi was never needed.

Indeed. In the original trilogy we had a small group of plucky rebels fighting against a Galactic Empire, with the Empire having all the resources necessary to make two vanity projects like the Death Stars. In the sequel trilogy the resources are all on the side of the New Republic, but somehow the former Empire have the resources to build fleets of Star Destroyers and a new Super Death Star. A Super Death Star that Rise of Skywalker shows to be completely irrelevant because you can miniaturize "Death Star tech" enough to put planet destroying technology into a Star Destroyer. I described the difference between a Plot Convenience and a Plot Contrivance thus. In A New Hope Tatooine is a planet, and the droids still manage to land in the general area that gets them to Luke. That's Plot Convenience. In The Last Jedi, Rose and Finn get thrown into a prison cell with a master code breaker when they were looking for a master code breaker, after getting arrested for a parking infraction and attacking police officers. That's Plot Contrivance.
@Kraemerrr
@Kraemerrr Жыл бұрын
Exactly! Plot conveniences are in most movies too, and most of the time the reason the movie happens is because of a plot convenience and just because it’s convenient doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad like I’ll use your example from ANH, there’s nothing inherently wrong with the droids somehow ending up with Luke of all people because it’s not impossible for it to happen and the series of events leading up to that are believable. so when it happens you don’t really question it… it doesn’t really even cross your mind but then look at TLJ, the series of events leading up to Finn and Rose meeting Dj are so unbelievably stupid it makes you question every single thing that happened and it takes you out of the movie completely
@freman007
@freman007 Жыл бұрын
@@Kraemerrr Not to mention, if Rose had turned round and said, "You know, I have done some study of old Imperial security systems. I think I can get us in," that would have eliminated the need for 45 minutes of sidequest, and actually provided a reason for Rose to be in the movie. Of course, it's pretty amazing that Finn and Rose can go from having no idea that a hyperspace tracker exists, to having a complete spec list, including its limitations, after five minutes of technobabble, and without ever actually seeing the hyperspace tracker.

The Last Jedy the episode considered as the one who wiped his butt with the creativity of George Lucas. This arrogant Ruin Johnson created a narrative mess, completely disrespecting the originals #1-6. The characters have no depth or development and the story is blurry. KKK Kathleen Kennedy, JJ Airplane, Chris Stereo and Ruin Johnson have just created an abominable mess. They can try to complete whatever they want. It's not going to change the fact that the sequel trilogy suffered from poor writing and inconsistency from start to finish. If they wanted to create something new, perfect new characters and stories, but they didn't have to destroy the original heroes, stories, and mythology to improve the new characters. That is called lack of creativity. Imagine that these writers take Superman and put him in a bat suit and the kryptonite hurts Batman and it turns out that the villain is Chapulín Colorado, just because they thought it was so funny and original. According to these brilliant creatives Jj Airplane, Chris Stereo and Ruin Jhonson, this Rey Skywhatever is the daughter of Mr T and Wonder Woman, granddaughter of the Wizard of Oz and Queen Elizabeth II, this explains why she uses Zorro's sword and Shazam's cape to have the power Grayskull.

Luke can obviously see the profound darkness in Rey. So in defiance, he rushes to the shore to do another hit to make the demoness go away. Because that's how blue milk works, it supresses the midi-chlorians. So Luke is using the placebo of green milk, to convince himself, that that's how he's cut himself off from the Force. So he can continue to pretend, that X-wings don't work when they have like, water, on them. To continue to pretend, that he's not dead! LaZ0r sO4rd is a term that normies, and Jedi mockers would use for lightsaber. The reason why they have to, is there's a power-trip subsection of the fanbase, who wouldn't acknowledge that "hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster, kid!". They decided, that they don't need a crystal attuned to, and as an extension of their soul, but rather, that they could just swing a flashlight around for a really long time, and then they'd be really good at killing space wizards. But it doesn't work that way, to an extent, a lightsaber is a kind of magic spell. Or a flashlight for a normie. It's not a sun with a handle on it. This is why Obi-Wan says it's "an elegant weapon, for a more civilized age!" - it's space wizard chess, only ever as powerful, as the one who wields it, the pen defeats the sword. So Luke is saying: "Don't try it! It doesn't work!". Maybe he's just a bit sad, that all his useless students, could defend themselves with a flashlight. Leia is also dead, after the explosion. But she's a space witch, so there's some sort of post-mortem retaliation curse. On a side note, they should've all been instantly dead in the asteroid field in Empire... Because the one thing atmos-6 masks don't do, is vacuum. But as I understand it, Hollywood doesn't like hiding faces in space suits, so they cheat a little. She wouldn't get sucked out faster than the fire and debris, though. There's no way, she could be hit by any of that.

It still bothers me that rian really once said that he likes the idea that half the audience love a movie and the other half hate it like wtf shouldn’t you want them all to love it for a reason like a good one idk I understand wanting to make people mad like South Park but people love South Park for the fact that it’s made to be that way and it’s satire it’s okay for a show that doesn’t carry on the legacy of these characters it’s okay for other shows to do this but star wars meant somthing and it really makes me feel like he wanted to ruin this movie for his own pleasure and that really hurts very selfish to ruin somthing that so many people have found love and meaning in and how many of those people can recognize how they’ve grown and changed by relating to characters that they grew up watching it’s just a shame that this movie went the way it did because he wanted to have a laugh and failed to at the same time creat somthing actually good like say South Park sorry for comparing these 2 medias that are not a like but it almost seems like this movie just wants to be satire

The Resistance was funded by the Republic? They said that? I always thought they were space-Hamas, and the Republic couldn't officially back them.. I saw it as implied that the cleaning lady and her sister were some type of space witches, because 1) Finn kills Phasma twice, and she doesn't die (back in deleted scene). Somethings fishy, like he can't because she tried to Fateburn him for submission, but then he resisted her, and Rey smells the Dark Side, and he burns with her instead. Then (deleted scene) Rey says "No, Finn, YOU take the gun, I'LL drive!", so that Finn can woohoo genocide all his bestest friends slave stormtroopers, which is different from traumatic retaliation against innocent, non-combatants. Or maybe just because she wants him to be evil. and 2) Cleaning lady witch magic-sexually-assaults Finn, which is an oddly convenient spell for rapists, with the red in his eyes, to ?replace? the curse or something along those lines. So that's how other cleaning lady catches the oddly handheld bomb launching device.

i've heard that Mark Hamil tweeted about his character being developed in the The Last Jedi and he said that he actually believed in Rian Johnsons vision after many conversation with Johnson of his character although i'm not certain. I see The Last Jedi is the most polarizing topic, now i see many people telling that Filoni , Favreu and Lucas must save this franchise but we must remember that Lucas sell his franchise not only for money but also because he received alot of hate from the fans of original trilogy, now of course no one remembers that but that was a big thing. Lucas also just wanted to spend time with his family and not be bothered by fans that hated him so much. About Filoni and Favreu i like them but on the other hand they always want cameos and i don't like that in the various shows like mando, boba fett are so many cameos especially in the 2nd season of mando where basically every episode is cameo fest, and idk why but NEW animation Tales of the Jedi are contradicting Ahsoka novel as well as Book Dooku: Jedi Lost which is infuriating to me so Filoni and Favreu are good writers but they lack the respect for various autors of novels and books.

Actually the reason for the blue lightsaber being shown in the forceprojection is probably because Disney's Star Wars is all about celebrating the parts of Star Wars generally celebrated. Before the prequels and Disney's Star Wars, Return of the Jedi was considered the worst Star Wars film and since that is the film were Luke has his green lightsaber they wanted to honor Luke by giving him the sword from the films that made the franshise so sacred to so many people to begin with.

Something i never thought about... how are the space llamas able to slam through walls? Either those things are incredibly durable or a lot of them got hurt badly slamming through obstacles. Which is not something animals generally do. Knocking over tables would likely break their limbs. Fancy tables tend to be heavy, imagine running into one of those things. I have a argument about the Y wings. First off i agree, they should have used Y wings or B wings. Buuuuuuut here is where I give credence to using heavier ships with more powerful shields and faster engines. a single properly equipped cruiser could start shooting down a squadron of y wings very quickly... you know the one i am talking about, so the rebels ... the resistance, would have planned around the Empire logically bringing the most important thing they could to deal with rebels, Anti Star Fighter weapons. The fact they didn't is a serious flaw on the Empire, First order, so imagine they launch 7 or 9 wings of star fighters, they are performing an assault run on the star destroyers, suddenly two or three Carrack Cruisers and Lancer Class Frigates undock or appear from the star destroyers rear positions, quickly firing and shooting down squadron after squadron of incoming fighters, tie fighters have launched but they have orders to stay back to let the lancers finish them off, the resistance pilots try to go after the tie fighters, who run from them to keep the distance so the lancers can keep destroying them. This is very bad for the resistance. So option two. They defend the planet with a Golan defense platform network, planetary shields, a few ion cannons, and a few squadrons of frigates that can survive a few rounds of turbo laser fire, long enough to get in close enough to drop huge swarms of torpedos or bombs on the enemy ships, incase they are sitting outside the defenses. Maybe their dreadnought is slowly destroying the golan platforms so they have to rush in, if they send the star fighters, the cruisers will pick them off at a distance or entire complements of tie fighters from the destroyers will get them. This leaves the final conclusion, If empire conducted successful long range bombardment of a properly defended planet, the movie could have been a interesting fight between two fleets. but by running, it creates a interesting dynamic that is not played on enough. Their should have been more cat and mouse games, and a reason they couldnt jump beyond fuel... which was never an issues before. maybe the imperials have interdictor spheres on their destroyers so they can keep the rebels from escaping, instead of hyperspace tracking, just interdiction spheres. I actually see something rather interesting about the hyperspace tracking that could explain and stitch up huge amounts of the movie, as far as the fleets go, but thats just my wild ideas i will hang on to for now... if you disagree with all this that is fine :s

It’s funny how despite star wars being one of if not the most popular franchise on earth. Started to fall apart immediately after the first trilogy. Like it was nothing but downhill after episode 6 Everyone considers the prequels to be bad. And the sequels are much much worse. The only reason why Star Wars is even still around is the games and TV shows. And even THEY suck over all The clone wars started out bad The kenobi show sucks. When EA got the exclusive rights to make star wars games all we got for a whole decade was the battlefront reboots. Which suck. The second one especially. I loved TFA when I saw it on opening day. So much so I watched it several times on CAM version in-between the time it was out of theaters but not yet released on home media. Same thing with Rogue One. The I saw TLJ, still on opening day. It's a tradition I had since Episode I. (I didn't exist when the OT came out otherwise the tradition would've started there.) Anyways, I loved the experience. For some reason my brain ignored the things I didn't like (Leia Poppins, Yo Mamma jokes, etc.) on first viewing. The people I met in the theater told me the movie sucked and I already started to fins excuses for it. Then friends started to tell me how bad it was and I kept defending it with awful arguments. I had none that made sense. Then, after some time on the internet, I started to see how bad it was. The people around didn't have the words to explain to me why. The internet did. I still remember the theater experience and I cherish it, because it was the last time I saw a Star Wars movie in the theater. I haven't rewatched this movie since, and have only seen the subsequent movies on home release. It really sucks. I was that hopeful guy whenever Star Wars was incoming, getting ready to go see it on the day of release. And I have to mention that no theater near me screens Disney movies in English, they're always dubbed and it's awful. So I have to take almost a day and spend money five times the ticket price to be able to see it in the language it has been shot. But I did it out of love for the franchise. I can't do it anymore. This movie destroyed the passion I had for this franchise and it really sucks. Recently I've been going through fan rewrites of the Sequels, and also the Prequels. Whether I already watched them or not, because I want to get that love back. Some of them are good, some are great, some are meh... But all are better than what we got. And it's baffling to me that they hired writers whom are easily outclassed by random KZfaq channels. It made the disappointment worse. That said, I also watch videos defending this movie and they make some good points, but it's not enough. They can praise a lot, but the bad still out ways the good. However way you put it. I'll stop ranting or I'll go for an hour. I just wanted to mention a little thing and ended up writing all of this. Sorry to anyone who actually read all of it, and thank you if you did. Every single point you made, I was saying to myself as I watched this movie originally. I loved the prequels, despite some terrible dialogue and delivery, because George had brilliantly created the back story of how the OT universe came into being. Plus, the Obi-Wan/Anakin duel was fantastic and a great plot point to have Obi be the one who put Vader in that suit. I enjoyed the ranting and I'm glad there are so many like me out there.

Personally, I wouldn't say that, I would say there are two Star Wars propitious; the Post-Disney Star Wars and these days Disney Star Wars. The old good shit still exist for anyone to go and see. What, cause Disney's shit is in the one being pushed to the forefront annihilates the existence of the of the past thats still around? Everything Disney Star Wars is mega trash I know that but I won't say cause of that its "dead". Its more closer to being a hijacked franchise which theres a lot of that going on nowadays. Adding to the ruin of the franchise is an overwhelming amount of normies with no standards flooding the subculture along side them a lot of shills together are one side of the problem. The entire entertainment industry has been completely over taken by political actives who would rather die than give up all that power. The others or the Corporatist that care for nothing in this world but money at whatever the cost; if rewriting all the classical works to soot "a modern abundance" just to get 5% more in their account so bit it. Those types never understood nor care about art at alls evern since their disgusting selves were conceived. Despite the above mentioned attempts to over shadow the good old Star Wars and swore a blood oath to never make it good as before they haven't outright mandated a missing to erase all past works from existence and executed people who remember Post-Disney Star Wars as in Equilibrium and I don't think they ever will. Good will outlast all the bad Disney Star Wars has made and when the day comes just as they did the EU it will be done to them but unlike the EU there erasure will be more permanent.

I feel the same way about some people saying Fallout is dead. Seriously, people can still play all the Fallout games.

What most people don't mention is Daisy Ridley's atrocious delivery and facial expressions. With Hayden, the delivery is bad because the dialogue is cringey and no one can deliver it properly. Ridley simply can't deliver dialogue.

I don't get why some people hate the transformers bumblebee movie there is some video about why bumblebee actually sucks even though it the bumblebee movie really doesn't and the hatred for it that movie could apply to the Star Wars prequels and fun fact bumblebee was going to be prequel but for obvious reasons it was turned into a soft reboot
