For what are supposed to be "chill streams" where one can forget their troubles and relax, there sure is a *lot* of talk about... taxation, lack of money, internet drama and trolling, and overall an abundance of debates and arguing. DSP doesn't just play games badly he's just a bad streamer in general and I love that the TIHYDP's highlight that.

@@mad-counter7393 Late af, and I'm not entirely certain, but I'll take a stab at it regardless (future commenters want to confirm/deny?): my understanding is that the "Dave" gag/meme/nickname came about because someone called Phil "Dave" one day on a stream or something and Phil got assblasted by that. So people call him that sometimes to taunt him now (I'll admit, I've done so a few times myself).

Yoshi's Island is just as much polished as it is ambitious and inovative. So many new ideas that were never done before in a game like this (at least not that I know) and they all work extremely well. Not just for a first attempt, but generally speaking. Sure, the game isn't flawless, but the few flaws in this game are either due to hardware limitations of the SNES or because that's how games were back in the days. Sorry that the game doesn't have enough checkpoints for the "King of Retro", but that's just how games used to be. (That's why I find it a little hard to go back to these old games sometimes, even though I grew up with them. Or, you know what, maybe it's actually BECAUSE I grew up with them. Yoshi's Island especially has caused me a lot of frustration as a child. Getting 100% in some of those stages is just evil.)

Sure, games can be tough, but we're not all cut from the same cloth, dude. We don't ALL need our hands held when we play games. Sure, I can admit needing help with games, when I was a kid, watching my dad play through n64 games like Super Mario 64, Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, Majora's Mask, Resident Evil 2, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Banjo-Kazooie, and Banjo-Tooie, DK64, Star Fox 64, and Super Smash Bros, it's not like I never played the games myself; I just wasn't as good as my dad was. But, I still had fun and played with the games. Yeah, recently, I had to look up a guide on how to get the best endings as both Chris and Jill in the RE Remake, the PS4 version, but I've played games and beaten them legitimately. Like when I went through DMC3 on Hard and Very Hard as Dante, and when I beat DMC5 on Normal, and Son Of Sparda mode. And, I beat the RE2 Remake as Claire in her 2nd run, on Standard, and The 4th Survivor, as Hunk. Both without guides. But philbert here, couldn't even figure out how reload his gun without asking chat first. He's that incompetent, and always has been. Always will be.

Just once I'd like to see Phil play with controller overlay visible (Controller Overlay is basically something that enables streamers to show their controller and what button they are pressing during a stream). An entire new categorie of clips would be born out of slow-mo shots of him not pressing a button/pressing it too late and then saying it's not his fault/he pressed it. A few streamers use it and it does make for hilarious moments when you see a player, in a horror game, just mashing 90% of the controller in panic XD

I tried to sit through Phil’s playthrough on his channel, but I couldn’t even get through the first video, because he just kept rambling about the stupid Hype Train and playing around with the Helicopter mode in the second level. So I went here to see this “detractor” video that edited down his videos to see all of the Pig’s salty fails and rages.

sadly this is one of the worst tihydp, the main reason being phils inability to play this game and constantly ranting about irl stuff. The opening was killing me over 10min before he started to play the first level and once the entire bankruptcy starts it only gets worse.... normally I can laugh at phils bad gameplay but here its just insulting to any "normal" gamer out there (blaming the game for having no eggs when he had more than enough opportunities to get those). Just being able to edit all those scenes together requires nerves of steel..... kudos to you Outsyder

What cracks me up, and I still can't cope,is Phil's dishonesty. I mean, when he rants, he's articulate, repeats his points (often), and make sure his opinion is clear. But when he has to read a donation and he fears it's mean, he goes full Hanako : "Someone donated a hundred britch here and says woahyoupeepeepoopooheadlosesomeweight". Like he thinks his viewers are too stupid to understand if he speaks quickly. Then he bans the person, and talks shit.

Well... I'm not a psychiatrist, but I do have a degree in psychology. Actually taking joy in the downfall of others is perfectly normal... we call it schadenfreude. Roughly translates to malicious delight. It's why we find slapstick funny, and so on. I'm fairly new to the whole Phil drama, a few months at most. But wow. The basic failure to acknowledge that no amount of negative responses will force his hand to spend money from his account and increase his debt. Does it hurt his income? Perhaps, but, "trolls" even vicious trolls, won't drive away viewership unless they have a point. Actually more likely if he was actually a martyr of baseless attacks, it would draw his fans closer not push them away. It's shocking he considers, his own words and footage of his actions coming back to bite him, as somehow somebody else's fault. Banning anyone who pokes fun at you, is not a good way to earn positive attention, any "normal" person could tell you that. If he responded with a clever quip, rolled his eyes, or thanked them for the attention, completely ignoring the negative implications, he'd come across as so much more, mature... but no, insult them as stupid or just ban them as a troll. You wonder... can he really not see, how his diminishing prospects are his own doing? That mockery and anger directed him, are a symptom of his state, not the cause?

3:57:07 Way to ruin an incredibly heartwarming ending by having no idea what you’re talking about. No. Mario and Luigi aren’t from the “Earth World” Mario grew up and went to New Donk City (It is stated that new donk is the same city Mario fought DK in) which is on the same earth as the mushroom kingdom. The only time where anything like what Phil mentioned actually happens, is the Super Mario bro’s show. Which clearly is not canon...

Bro, this is honestly one of Phil's worst playthroughs in recent years. From the constant complaining about how this isn't Super Mario World, the unnecessary egg usage, the failure to understand simple shit like the water mechanics, Yoshi can't die except for death traps like spikes, lava, etc. God, this is the condensed version and it's just awful.

Just watched this after replaying the whole game after like 20 years and gotta say the boss fight at 3:37:12 is easily my favorite part with the editing highlighting his terrible attention span/problem solving skills, which to this day is one of my favorite edit focus styles in TIHYDP (along with when he says "WHAT? That didn't hit me, that's bullsheet!" or somesuch and there's an instant replay showing what actually happened, usually ending with a slo-mo version of his "WHAAAAAAT?"), it strikes me as something that was a lot more prevalent in older TIHYDPs without schtreem chat and him constantly ranting about other shit but it's always a happy time to get a glimpse of that more wholesome style of fail again.

Thank you so much for making this. Yoshi’s island is one of my favorite games (specifically the Gameboy port which added some levels Phil would never be able to beat). Watching him trash a childhood favorite along with Super Mario Sunshine was infuriating, but at the same time enjoyable because it shows how incompotent Phil is. And of course, it’s extremely fitting that there’s a “Yoshi commits tax fraud” meme and Phil plays it right when he’s having his own financial incompetence.

Oh my God, that's horrifying. Wouldn't he have to have I don't know, some sort of "talent", to be a part of CA? I mean, I no longer support CA, but the people I did watch there had some semblance of talent, and already left that horrible place. You know, people like: Spoony, Todd In The Shadows, Angry Joe, etc. Only the people who are truly talentless, or haven't realized or care that CA is a terrible, piece of shit place yet, are the ones who're still there, I think. I don't know, I haven't seen any of their bullshit in a while. I don't want anything to do with them anymore. They're NOTHING like how they used to be. Which is, funny, and good. Now, they just throw shit at the wall, and seeing what sticks. Now, they're basically, "But, the chart says..." but, they're actually living that, every single time they upload a video, which sucks. Because the truly talented members of CA have already left. The others need to take the hint and leave too. Because if they're really talented, then they wouldn't stick around such a shitty place like Channel Awful.

It would have been worth it just so Phil would have been in the Channel Awesome "movies". His "performance" in what I saw of Project 7 showcases already how much fun that would have been. Though he might have been a better "actor" than some of the people on there.

@@MariaIsabellaZNN Maybe, but those movies were long enough already, ma'am. Philbert/Isaac Heimler's nazi jokes wouldn't have helped the pain of sitting through those 3 hour torture sessions, trust me. And, if DipShitPhil were on CA, I would've stopped watching them much earlier then I did. So, I guess that's 1 good thing Davebert would've given me, a clear warning that CA was not a good place, despite having some pretty good talent, like Spoony, Todd In The Shadows, The Rap Critic, Angry Joe, etc. But, I think some of those guys already had a huge following BEFORE they joined CA. Especially Todd and Joe. The best that CA had, already left and pursued other things, like growing their own channel's, and NOT associating with a racist/anti-semitic/sexist/talentless/unfunny/worthless/annoying/stupid/whiny dumbass like King Pigroach. But; I think you may have a point. I've never seen project 7, but from the clips I've seen of it, it's almost like The Room of shitty internet "movies". I think his whiny, monotone "acting" would've more than likely, made the CA "movies", even worse somehow. I don't think he's a better actor than most of the people who were on CA, or in those pathetic attempts at "movies". They ALL sounded like they didn't want to be there, like they'd rather be filing taxes or something. None of them could act, if I'm being honest. Those movies were so godawful... I wish I could wish them out of existence. And take back the time I wasted on them. So terrible, ma'am. Mostly in a "so bad, it's good" kind of way, but that wears off quickly, when you see what the guys and gals at CA try and do in the what is quite possibly the worst performances of their lives. I'm sure Phailbert would've been slightly worse in the movies. Only slightly though. Though I don't quite get how adding a nazi would've improved the quality of their dogshit movies.

This dude loves and 100% Super Mario World, but hates and didn't 100% Yoshi's Island because of his toxic attitude, greedy e-begging, blaming Nintendo, and garbage gameplay and doesn't learn from his mistakes and improves from them.
