Garage Strength - Please provide an adaptive version of this video for beginners that want to avoid any caff, hamstring and other muscle injuries and (importantly) cannot sprint 300 let alone 400 meters sprint yet without absolutely collapsing at the end. THis should apply for people that hardly exercise and those that use to be athletic but haven't trained or exercise at all (even walking less than 2000 steps per day due to Covid) for over a year, thus causing their body to go back to level 0. It should be a tip to get the person back up to strength in hope they can start sprinting 800 meters very quickly and massively increase their endurance, stamina, power, the works. Looking forward to it!

People, if you are a beginner or been inactive for over a year (not even walk a lot outside even), do not start immediately with a 15 meters sprint without doing LOTS of stretching, warm-ups and more beforehand. Definitely don't do this till weeks later until you feel your legs are stronger and more stable. Otherwise, there is a VERY high chance of - frequently - pulling your muscles that will put you out of action for 2-4 weeks depending on the injury level. Use the other exercises highlighted here and others to train your body/legs up first so when you do start the 15 meters sprint it will be safer on your legs. Before you start, make sure you warm-up and stretch for 10 - 15 minutes, and then follow it with 3-5 minutes stretching and loosening every 2 reps of sprinting. Keep it like this for one week or until you feel you are ready to increase your reps. Lastly, while running, if you feel any part of your leg muscles (typically the hamstring or calf) building on tightness almost like it is about to start hurting/pop, PLEASE STOP IMMEDIATELY. Stop and start stretching for that's usually a sign of an incoming muscle pull. Trust me, injuries will mess you up so bad they will heavily delay your progress and dampen your determination, so do your best to avoid them at all costs. Listen to your body.

I train 5x per week as a sprinter and I use all of these. Hills I only train once per week but the rest I actually use as warm up exercises every single session because they target the muscle groups I'll be using for sprinting and they teach my body to move in the correct way, before I've even started the session.

I've found that instead of bounding simply because of the impact, that single leg drives might be better for the body overall and will teach proper mechanics on ground impact. The idea being that you're driving like well actually move your body forward as your peg leg is lifted. I believe it's best to do one side than the next. If you don't feel Ford motion then there's probably a part of the mechanics that's not correct. Just a thought. Keys are dorsiflexed foot good arm drive tall body eyes forward and good knee drive. Opposite legs should be pegged and slightly behind center.

Dear Dane! Thank you as always for the awesome video... Just small tiny question though if you don’t mind! I am not sure whether I should open my fingers during sprinting as it hurts a bit because the blood sort of pumps up to the tip of the fingers... But all the videos I see the athletes seem to have open spread fingers reaching far out while sprinting... So what I do is I imagine as if I am holding an egg in my palms... is this normal or is it just me... Could you be so kind to give a short advice? Thanks!😁

@ahobosjohnson7429
@ahobosjohnson7429 3 жыл бұрын
Contrary to general opinion, if you’re trying to maximize overall recovery and rest (integral for avoiding injuries and rapid development) you want to train twice in one day, with sessions separated by at least 6 hours of recovery and refueling. Then, the following day should be a complete recovery day with stretching, proper nutrition, and no intense physical activity. Your main training priority should be the session in which you train the hardest (ideally it’s the first session of the day). The second is your supporting session. So if your priority is sprint training that’s your first session and the one you focus on exerting the most energy on. Then weight training would happen six hours later maybe hitting the legs relatively lightly, and hitting your upper body a little harder.

@@longday3607 You most definitely need speed for cricket. Very few players can just sit and hit 4s and 6s back to back. Stamina and speed need to be balanced in cricket with explosive movements for speed but enough stamina to keep those explosive movements up for hours.
