Thank you for this video - just got a new Toro & everyone recommends using Trufuel. I was anxious because I was confused as to whether I needed to add oil IN ADDITION the Fuel+Oil Trufuel. If you have always used gas & oil separately for decades - this kinda threw me for a loop.😲 Step 1 - ADD the oil that comes in the bottle supplied by Toro (or similar), and Step 2 - ADD the Trufuel (instead of regular gas). Now I know - THANK YOU!

I just bought this mower today and I unpacked it and got everything setup and I charged the battery, then tried to start it using the start "key" and it wouldn't push in. I picked up the manual to look into the section about how to start it, and the one thing that I find strange is the lack of information on the electric start. There is almost an entire page on how to attach the grass catcher bag with detailed pictures which is great, but for anyone that has ever used a lawn mower with a bag knows how to do it. In contrast the electric start system has maybe 1 or 2 sentences about it without any examples, which is strange because I've never used an electric start on a lawn mower and I'm smart enough to figure it out, but it would be nice to actually know for sure. The instructions aren't to clear about how the electric start operates, and on the key there is a symbol of some sort with an arrow above indicating turning in a clockwise motion. So I wasn't too sure if I needed to insert key and then turn or turn key first, or don't turn at all. After looking online for a bit and doing some research I realized that my "key" wasn't hitting the button correctly so when I put the key in it just slid 3/4 of the way in and stopped. There was no in/out pushing of a button. I had to manually align the key hole with the button so that my key made proper contact. After playing with it I realized that the "key" and "key housing" is basically just a safety measure so that you don't accidentally push the start button. I just wish there was more documentation about this feature in the instruction manual, or even the troubleshooting section. It would have saved a lot of aggravation.

I agree. There are no clear instructions on how to use the included charger and where to plug it into the starter button. It only shows that 24 hours are needed to charge the battery but where on the mower is as clear as mud.

What's a push start and it's a brand new oil burning motor ?

No. All new engines burn a little oil at first startup - it’s oil used in the manufacturing process. Plus, these small air cooled engines ALL burn a little oil during use. It’s a fact of life.

I'm assuming you used the whole bottle of oil? And wished you would have shown where battery charger hooked up..

I have this model. Just installed new key assembly and now have extra hex nut and metal washer. Reply if you want them. First come and no holds.

TrueFuel is great if you cannot find 100% gasoline (with no ethanol).

Don’t need to change the oil???? I just got one and they told me to change the oil in it once a year???

TeufelHunden im sorry to tell you this but this man does not know all of what he is talking about as you should change mower oil every 20 to 50 hours of run time or consult the owners manual. And also a fuel like Trufuel is not necessary as long as you make sure the gas you buy from the gas station is non ethanol or for recreational vehicles and you service your mower in a timely manner according to the owners manual.
