Picked up a dead one of these Free with stand, changed the brushes and away it went. The laser wire was also loose. However I was unfamiliar with some of the settings it was locked down and angle cut was also locked (didn't have the knob to release lock)and this is the best video I've seen on how to use it. As I say it was locked in the down position and I found the orange locking knob (not on the one in the video) and it would not pull out like it was siezed however in this video I noticed you have to push down to release the tension then it released no problem. Thank you for a great video better than the manual online.

Just purchased this saw as I thought if it's good enough for Chez, then it's good enough for me. Only a couple of slight adjustments needed to get the saw cutting true and now all working like a charm. Picked up the diamond blade at the same time as I am tiling the kitchen and it is cutting the tiles perfectly. So thanks for the great review. Have a good week.

I've got the small machine R210CMS, I only use it for cutting metal, very handy, small & quite rugged enough to put in the van when i'm going to be cutting things like shelving strips & bolts etc...

Helpful. I recently bought one and after assembling it I needed a fine-tune.🙏 I wasn't getting a perfect tuning between the fence and the blade at the back. I removed the fence and noticed some minor imperfections on the bottom of the fence. A little sanding solved the problem. I got perfect tuning.

I have the 210 non sliding version which i only use for cutting up wood that i know have nails in, eg pallet wood or for cutting some metal etc as i don't want to ruin the blades on my Metabo Saws that i have. Bought mine and used it for the first time today. While it states the max cutting depth is 65mmish I found it can cut a little deeper at 74mm. Glad I went for this middle version as it was on sale for the same price as the smaller model.

I bought mine a few weeks ago after watching this, bought engineers squares but was bang on after building it up. Brilliant video and far, far, far better than the yankee doodle dandy videos, cheers for taking the time and uploading it and edting, takes longer to edit than set the saw up. cheers.

Any advice on how to cut bored wood? I'm doing skirting at the moment and neither the front nor back are flat so it's a nightmare getting sharp corners.

Absolutely awesome video once again. Great thorough review and some very good, easy to understand information. How did you attach the R210SMS to the saw stand rails? When I had the Rage3S I used the provided bolts (with the square shanks and dome heads) going up through the rails and then up through the saw base/feet. I then used the washers, spring washers and wingnuts provided. However, the new R210SMS has recessed hex holes. Is there a different way of connecting the rails with hex nuts? Thank you again for your great vids. Hope you don’t mind me asking for advice 😊

When checking against fence do we need to check on both sides?I'm getting it ok on left side as you showed but when checking on right side it's not square.tiok a straight edge to check if back fence is warped but it's ok

Hi, I just bought the evolution r210sms + (my first miter saw). But I have encountered a problem the blade has a slight play I think it is due to the hex bolt securing the blade to the motor, the bolt has quite a bit of play compared to the thread of the motor block and even if I tighten it the wobble remains, however the cuts are precise at least on the wood. I was wondering if yours also had the same problem? Sorry for my English

On the strength of your recommendation, I have just purchased one. Interestingly, the plastic extensions and the place into which they fit are no longer left and right handed. They are symmetrical - no square shoulder on one side.

Great video and needed as the assembly manual is a pita to use. A couple of things I noticed. After I completed assembling is slight play in the rotary table about 0.5 degree maybe less. I'm a little worried this will effect the quality and precision of cuts. Secondly lots of finger prints smudges on the rotary table possibly from the assembly line and not I'm hoping from being a demo model somewhere.

I seem to remember that galvanised steel can give off poisonous fumes and dust when cut. Maybe the reason for the makers not recommending? Great video BTW. I just got one of these for my birthday so looking forward to getting to work with it.

Hi, I was fortunate enough to receve one of these for Christmas! It is the "R210 SMS+" version (not sure what he "+" is though!) Unfortunately I have made a slight error in assembly - I put the slide rails in upside down (not clear from their assembly video and it is a black handle at the end not orange so the "evolution" logo was not so obvious). In fact the handle points up, not down as in your version and the one on their video - so it was a bit confusing. Not a disaster as still operates OK but of course the cable grip is on the oposite side. I was hoping I would be able to push in the locking rods and remove the cutting head in order to remove the rails and put them in the right way upt - but it doesn't want to come off. Any thoughts on how I can rectify my silly mistake? Great video - I will certainly follow the steps to ensure accurate set up.

I have just bought this saw today to do some stairs and decking in the morning. I have just put it together and noticed that the blade has a fair bit of play in it even thought it’s correctly mounted and tightened. Is this normal?

Would you say that a mitre saw is easy enough for a DIY amateur to use? Note, I say amateur, not idiot. ;) Am very careful and fastidious. Keen to build lots of items for the garden (raised beds, cages, compost bins, etc and feel this would be ideal for all the wood cutting needed. Many thanks.

When I got mine a while ago I read the instructions carefully with regards to mounting it on the stand. It said to remove REMOVE the 4 rubber feet before bolting the saw to the two brackets. Unfortunately, this meant the saw sat a little low on the attached rails coursing the dedicated stop to hit the rails on each side, meaning I couldn't swing the saw round completely to the 45degree stop. I unbolted the saw and reinserted the 4 rubber feet and now the saw clears the rails so I can now swing the saw unimpeded to the 45degree stop. So, if you do get one of these saws with the stand, I would ignore that part of the instructions.

It would be cool to see how to attach it to a work bench

A perfectly clear demonstration. But - why does everything now come as a kit? All kit equipment should be clearly labelled as such which at the moment is never the case. Also, tools needed for the assembly and not included should be flagged up. And a guide as to how long assembly and set up is likely to take should be indicated. It may be assumed that everyone buying such equipment as this has some suitable experience but that may not always be the case. For example, when fitting the blade an inexperienced person may make a final tighten of the nut in the wrong direction, as the thread on this device is atypical. I suspect that manufacturers will keep pushing the boundaries to see how much they can get away with but it may take some buyers into danger. Let's have clear labelling please!

Just bought this off the back of his video:- the fixing clamp is useless for cutting bevels in one direction because if pressed onto the plastic extensions on the left side, it lifts the timber at the cutting point . If clamped closer to the blade it interferes with the cutting angle. Very disappointed. There will be times when clamping on this side is necessary. Something should still work despite the price tag.

So this is the Rage 3 replacement for 2018 I can only assume...
