So to recap: in the middle of the battle, sans wanted you to reset and do a pacifist run. You refused to do that and continued to fight. You eventually killed sans, then reset to do a pasifist run. Confusion 100.

The fact that Toby made specific dialogues for a "Pacifist/Neutral run after an Incomplete-Genocide" Route is impressive. It's been YEARS and I still find stuff in Undertale that I didn't know.

To be honest a different reaction, or disappearance from Flowey would have been better suited. He learned what you are capable of. That you can destroy him, and everything, and everyone else.

This isn't just after beating sans, actually. I tried a genocide and got no farther than papyrus before wimping out and doing pacifist, but flowey still said this.

Imagine saying to Toriel I know who’s was your husband and two children, You know sans through the door and papyrus, and telling her everything else and she’s like What the fuck

It would've been amazing if, when you do a pacifist run after almost finishing a genocide run, Flowey would encourage you through the entire pacifist run, not because of some gambit but because he's terrified that you'll kill him if you drop the pacifist run. Even better if he ends up attacking you at the end like normal but mostly out of spite because he feels like you betrayed him by giving him a goal to work toward with you after he was alone for so many years, only to drop it in favor of the pacifism & love that he no longer understands. He lost Chara when they were kids & he wouldn't kill. He lost Chara again when he was a flower & he wouldn't be peaceful so now he thinks Chara will always abandon him no matter what.

Flowey: why you have to screw it up? Chara: you told me to go back.

Frisk: "Are we friends now Sans? I did restart and I didn't come back to finish genocide"

I am impressed how this game took 2 years to make, and a large part of those months of game development, were putting different ways to end the game, with infinite alternative endings.

He literally just went "y-you should go back!" 5 seconds before the battle of sans and now he was like "tf why didnt u see it to the end???"

So Flowey doesn't even fight you until the end this way? That is an interesting one. Even more so that in the genocide run, by the time you get to Sans and beat him, Flowey is scared to death that you were going to kill him. But you reset and he's suddenly annoyed with you for not finishing what you started. Apparently, along with kindness and love, Asriel also lost his sanity and sense of consistency when he became a flower

Sans knowing the past run sent the same chills down my spine as when he says “Why didn't HE deserve your mercy?” when you only kill papyrus.

Aside from the Flowey dialogue and the "don't. capiche" all the dialogue can be triggered by a regular reset except for "you look like you've seen a ghost" which comes from if you kill Toriel and reset the game or before saving after killing her (I've learned from experience)

It would be cool if Sans thanks you in the last corridor for resetting...

What I'm surprised wasn't in the game was new diologue if you do a Pacifist/Neutral run IMMEDIATELY after dying to Sans' mercy attack. Like Sans can tell you're looking at him oddly and claims someone must have "helped you through a bad time" or something.

I did this with my game, because I was so goddamn regretted after killing sans, after that I did another pacifist, making the happy ending without selling my soul and then never touching the game ever again. I didn’t know that actually completing Genocide makes your game “corrupted” at that time, thank god I didn’t finished.

You can get all this stuff also by not killing sans. I already knew this could happen if you didn't finish a genocide because when I first tried a genocide I felt so guilty, and when sans said (after the "get dunked on" death) "if we really are friends, you won't come back", I couldn't take it anymore and just resetted. I was so surprised by the fact that Flowey acted like that, like, when he was talking at the new home he was scared of me, and when I reset he's all "why did you have to screw everything up", like, DUDE I LITERALLY SAVED YOUR LIFE, WOULD YOU MIND SHUTTING UP FOR A SECOND

After Deltarune, Toriel being able to notice Frisk's face showing fear due to seeing her die before, is honestly really sad. I've always thought of Frisk as a vessel, and Deltarune pretty much confirmed that, while also showing it wasnt Chara's fault.

okay im so many years late to this the reason why flowey reacts the way he does even after being terrified at the end is because he doesn’t remember what happens at the point where we have more determination than he does so all he remembered was us getting past hotland and - at most - the speech he gives nothing about the fear of being killed

So... I want to point out that 80% of this is just what happens if you reset once. The Toriel response to your expression happens any time you kill her and then reset; it isn't limited to resetting after a Genocide run. The Flowey stuff is the new stuff. That doesn't make the other stuff less cool though. It just isn't from the Genocide part.

There's another interesting flowey response that I got by accident. So I watched a bunch of easter egg videos on KZfaq and just wanted to try them myself on both pacifist and genocide routes. So I started off with a pacifist route, fought and spared the omega flowey, and then reset the game without actually finishing the pacifist run. Then when I first met flowey on my second run, he told me to not kill anyone. I continued with genocide route anyways. I beated and killed sans, and then immediately reset. I was truly expecting what flowey would say on my third run, cuz I know my actions must have been very confusing to flowey, first sparing everyone and then killing everyone. But on my third run flowey never appeared, not at the intro, not at the end of ruins, not even once! I don't know if he would still appear as omega flowey in the end (I'm still in the middle of it), but this arrangement is already very intriguing.

Resetting in the Judgment Hall after killing Sans was the best way I avoided starting a Souless Pacifist Run. The little dialogue of the characters somewhat being aware or knowing is just the cherry on top for me. You'll still be able to get a True Pacifist ending if done correctly.

I actually got this when I quit after The Undying's fight and reset, and needless to say, I was super freaked out... to this day, this game never fails to amaze me.
