I answer the question, "When reporting the results of a usability test, should I say, '3 of 5 users experienced the problem' or 'The majority of users experienced the problem'?"
Here's the confidence interval calculator for completion rate that I mention in the video: measuringu.com/wald/

In ergonomics and human factors we are used to tell apart the severity, the frequency and the consequence of errors. I think there's a lot to be said about being truly scientific and neutral about the numbers when communicating results to the wider organisation. I always run into this philosophical dilemma of amplifying things that stood out from the study or just being as neutral as possible. I know my job is research (as unbiased as possible), translate the findings the best way possible to the organisation and ultimately help build knowledge....but...where does my fair interpretation ends and my unbiased amplification starts?

Good explanation. I got the first part where quantifying the qualitative results isn't good. But I dint get the suggestion. If I give the range I would be told that it's just data and asked to provide insight or recommendation. Any help on this?
