I'm a full-time professional Webtoon and Comic creator and I'll be reviewing viewer submitted comics and Webtoon Canvas. I will look at art, storytelling, lettering, etc. This is to try to help you learn how to get better at comics by giving an honest critique.

This video critique was requested by the creator. I don't offer unsolicited advice because I don't believe it is appropriate to force your opinions on someone you don't know, even if you have good intentions. Imagine walking up to a stranger on the street and saying "yellow's not your color."
I'm not going to focus much on anatomy and other aspects of drawing that simply require practice and time to learn. Saying "Draw better biceps" isn't super helpful. All artists are always and forever trying to draw better biceps.

Eeeee! Thank you so much! That being said... I can't believe we haven't stated Nerine's name. Or how long it took for Cael and Asher to be named... whoops.

Thank you so much for the thorough critique! It was actually really helpful and my cowriter and I are already discussing it all for improving things! (I still can't believe we have yet to say Nerine's name, or how long it took to say Asher's! Woops.) Several points of danger are planned to appear soon, but I think you're right that Asher has had things a little too easy, and it makes it less clear that he's cockier than he should be. It's an excellent point (though all of your points are excellent) I will also add that there are some establishing shots you mentioned that were planned, buuuut I ran out of time before I could finish them. ._.;; I'll need to make sure I make sure there's extra time to cover those scenes from now on. (And though I don't have time to go back at the moment... it might be worth doing that as well, just to really give a sense of scale.) Despite not wanting to redo text, I've actually been thinking of replacing Adi's text explicitly because that B, and I think this just affirmed it as something I'm going to do. It'll just take a bit of time, since I'll probably end up making the font myself. (You're definitely correct about the struggle of finding good, readable and fitting fonts if you're doing things nontraditionally!) Nerine I hadn't been paying enough attention to spacing, but I think I should be able to tweak the font more so that spacing between words is more consistent, so thank you for pointing that out! :) The icon itself I, uh... never actually designed and just grabbed something from one of the first collabs I did. ._.;;; so I think I'll make an actual one. I was wondering if I should try to get all the main cast in, but I'll try focusing on Asher. Thank you! :) Anyway, I should stop now, but thank you again, this has been incredibly helpful. (And hopeful to plenty other people too!)

Great critique as always! I'm a fan of Asher and it's creators, done a collab with them once too (super nice people and so talented!!) and it was cool to see your perspective again. It's cool that all these critiques apply to anyone wanting to make comics, helps us all grow together! Webtoon seems to have a great vibe about cultivating artists' explorations.

I like your insights and thought processes; the way you approach critique is very useful and you have an excellent talent for speaking truths without making a reasonable person feel a need to be on the defensive. When I put that science-fiction war story up on webtoons I may ask for your input. I have another webcomic (self-owned site, not Webtoons) that I'd be interested in hearing your insights on but the project has run for 7+ years and has way, waaayyy too many episodes to reasonably wade through at this point (800+ at this point). So the next project will just have to do I guess! XD

Thank you for the critique. If you decide to do another one, you should consider reviewing "Ghost Eyes" but Mr.Circus Papa. It's honestly one of the best things I've ever read. Their are a lot of chapters but they are VERY short. It also updates 2-3 times a week if not more. Anyways, i HIGHLY recommend this underrated Webtoon. TRIGGER WARNING TO THOSE WHO ARE CONSIDERING READING IT.
