Unlike all these memes, I have a real Chuck Norris fact/story. In 1968, when I was a junior at Rolling Hills High in Palos Verdes, Chuck oversaw a Taekwondo class there. This was before his movie career. He was soft-spoken, but intense, and demanded no one in his club ever use the techniques they learned there in an aggressive (non defensive) manner. He didn't formally announce those goals he wrote in his later creed, but he certainly expected many of them from us. He was a firm believer in physical fitness, and had us lie on our backs in a circle as he jumped (albeit not too severely) from abdomen to abdomen talking about his philosophy of martial arts. He said the only thing he regretted about teaching in Southern California was the lack of freezing waterfalls for us to stand under while he continued his education of us! He expected us to respect each other, and put our all into whatever we did (in class or out). He was truly a memorable teacher and role model!
