Love what you are doing. Watch for mixing metal when working plumbing. Copper, galvanized, brass all react with direct contact together and corrode really fast. Trust me I’ve worked maintenance for 30 years. Keep posting bro.

FYI: Your outside pipes are gonna freeze unless you cover them really well. Even in an insulated house they freeze. I’d hate for you to go through that.

I would build a wood box around the outside pipes at the water heater and insulate it well

Have you tried MAG® Flakes to help control the dust. Apparently they hold water which reduces dust?

Thanks for sharing this with us. I admire what you are doing going off-grid. I may have missed it, but how do you keep the water from freezing in the winter months? Specifically the big water tote.

We haven’t winter-proofed the tote quite yet, but our most likely option is building a little roof on it that funnels water into another tote, and using foam board insulation on the inside of the outer skin. As for the pipes, I actually scored a really decent deal at Lowe’s on foam insulation tubes!

Btw, our frost line is only 12 inches here so we don’t have to be too crazy with the insulation

He’s a expert at working by himself with little to no distraction. I think being out here has been different for him though because theres no signal, so he can’t listen to much or call around, or even consult KZfaq for pointers.

How much in US $ are you asking for your Barn dominium?? And how much acreage does it come with.??

We aren’t selling it, we would take a huge hit in taxes so we’re looking at other options. Plus we still have a lot of things we want to finish there and projects for this property we need to work on in the shop there.
