There is nothing to do, nothing to see. Everywhere is slum area. No toilet that you can use anywhere. You should shit at your own place. The whole place is a giant slum with two malls. Everything costs 2-3 times than China. In the malls you cannot sit. There are no seats. Have to spend money and then go home.

I have vacationed in Iligan City, northern Mindanao every year since 2008 staying about 4 weeks each visit. Never had any problems there and in fact they have been the best vacations I have enjoyed anywhere in the entire world. You are a lot safer there than on a New York City subway LOL. The people there are great, very hospitable, lots of sites and great restaurants. Just use your common sense and you should not have any problems.
