Thank you for the video! This is I would say one of my biggest problems that I am afraid or bracing the shot and I kinda run throught it so that my backfoot ends up ahead of the front foot when I throw and the momentum is wasted what I have generated from the X-step basically resulting me only throwing with arm. This is also very very good that I can do these inside at home!

Loved the radar speeds! Once shops start setting up radar speed stations and also Tech disc stations I think people will start making disc selections based on how fast they are throwing a disc.

I feel that I would be more suitable for my style and my body with the plant to ground and push up style (in video Style 1) but I am wondering which one has less toll on my body. I mean, I am bit on the heavy side and I feel that this sport helps me to move and I want to play this sport for a long time so I am trying to come up with a style that would allow me to do so.

We try to throw the disc how we actually would use it and if I’m throwing it flat on the course it’s gonna be high mostly to prevent cut rolling away unless it’s downhill

Thank you so much for this video! I feel like it's finally giving me a feel for how my body rotates, how the hips swing first and cause everything else to rotate after, which is starting to get the timing right, and how the arms swing freely because of the hip movement, which is what creates the slingshot effect. It didn't immediately translate, the first time I went into the field, into great form and distance, but I feel like this might actually be getting me started working on the stuff that will get me there. I've watched so many videos on engaging the hips and how to get more distance, and I was not able to engage my hips or increase my distance at all. I hope hope hope that this is the beginning of finally learning what I've been missing.

Ok so I’m a little lost. With my techdisc I’m averaging 63mph, and topping out around 67mph. In the field I’m right around 400, with the 420 flat being my max so far. My nose (usually positive) and launch (usually slightly negative) have to be the main culprits, and turning the key isn’t helping me much. Do I just suck beyond repair?
@OverthrowDiscGolfКүн бұрын
Do you suck beyond repair? No. You just haven’t fixed your nose and launch yet.

With positive nose angle and negative launch angle you're throwing an air bounce shot. They look cool, but you're destroying your distance by throwing this away because the air bounce is nothing but added drag early in the disc's flight which quickly scrubs speed off the throw. Honestly it's incredible you can throw 420 feet this way, which is a testament to how much power you have. So don't get discouraged, get excited, because you're close to being an absolute bomber. Get the nose down and the throwing plane up and you'll be throwing 450+ easy and pushing 500 depending on the line and disc.

Wait, I just realized...what if disc golf shops/retailers had this set up, and this way, you could (kind of) try out a disc before buying??? Obviously hand-feel wouldn't match in a simulated throw 'cause of the Tech Disc, but like....this could be pretty cool! It'd give as accurate as possible measure on your speed, launch angle, etc., and could show you close to what a disc would do with your actual throw before buying it!

Also my feet naturally point outwards. I noticed the more flat my foot is towards my walking line the better I'll get that straight lined snap release. And if I really need to throw on the right side I let it naturally relax and it snaps to the right more. Using my weakness as an advantage. Just an idea

I think the guy in the last video is using your advice from vertical bracing and is over exaggerating the sinking motion onto the brace leg. I was doing this too, but came to the realization that motion from high to low ending on the brace leg’s heel is all that’s needed, and not so exaggerated like his sink on the video. Once on the heel, it’s time to brake and no longer sink as you said. I don’t think his arm is pulling through though or not as quick as it maybe should, as the shoulders appear to be outpacing the hand.
@janneskanal1286 күн бұрын
What really made it click for my brace timing, was leading the disc slightly forward with my elbow during the x-step. That way, I could finally do a full coil, aswell as not throw before planting. I see ALOT of pros doing this (McBeth, Heimburg, Lizotte amongst many others. Would this be a good tip to coach? : ) 1) use elbow to move disc slightly forward DURING x-step 2) Coil DURING your lead foot moving into the brace
