The stall may not have been what the crew or passengers wanted or expected (although the passengers looked happy enough), it made for very dramatic video footage. Well captured, Alan.

I am American and so like American steam the best; but British steam is nice, too, and has a classy, elegant look all its own. Nice video, beautiful engine.

🎵"Out here in the fields...." Well that made for some excellent listening!!! That was a bit like a scene from the Railway Children with the kids running and waving!! Good to see the old ferry still plying its trade, heart in your mouth you weren't going to make a pillock of yourself driving down that slippery ramp🤔🙄 Thanks Alan for the beautiful Devon idyll❤👍👍, all the best.

Hi Bob, I thought that opening shot of a B1 in the highlands (of Torbay anyway!) would strike a chord. The whole day turned out to be a "make the best of a bad job" day but I think it turned out O.K.. This video took 15 hours to upload with my current broadband connection!!!!! Just got back from Torquay with a 5g router from "3" on free trial, hopefully that will sort things for future uploads. Best wishes, Alan

Hi Bob, been trying to decider your cryptic message and worried that my clips "don't impress you much" or even worse "man, you feel like a woman"!! Can I urge to to stay off that well known fortified wine made at an Abbey not far from here and get straight back on to a good single malt, I would recommend Longmorn, my favourite Speyside. @@Steamclips Sir Alan, glad you worked out the references - even though I've passed that stage now, ooooh, but you are awful!!!! It's just I didn't want to upset the masses by decrying said locomotive, (whoops, that'll open the floodgates) I certainly wasn't casting nasturtiums on your usual excellent videography. Even though I fly the tartan that's one tot I can do without so I will toast you with a chilled glass of local Tinwood white. My very best to you both.

I went on the 'proper' Torbay Express from Pddington in the fifties headed by a Castle with fourteen coaches behind. At Newton Abbott the Castle left us as did a number of coaches which split off and went to Bristol. We continued on to Paignton for our holiday at Broadsands and I saw City of Truro one day going over the Broadsands viaduct. That was a very memorable holiday.

Hi and thank you for your interesting reminiscences. City of Truro was stationed at Paignton to promote the launching of Westward TV, the West country ITV service. I've seen the exact same Steam Dreams Railtour, one month ago (11th May 2024), at Chester Station. The Class 47 at the rear was in Intercity Swallow livery, and the steam engine upfront was a different LNER steamy: A4 Sir Nigel Gresley. There's a video on my channel, Sir Nigel Gresley with Saphos Steam Dreams Railtour & Friends, which is calling your name.
