Great video! Love to see the country. Beautiful and very very rough. We can all see who is plainly trying to keep this info hidden. Read the comments because this has clearly hit a nerve. You guys telling him to be quiet are not promoting hunting. You are silencing it. EVERYONE: read Bill Butlers book: The Versatile Trophy Hunter. Bill has killed several rams in the Unlimited Sheep Units of Montana. There are all the keywords. Good luck everyone.

Great story. I've been eyeing the unlimiteds for a while. I took a ram in Idaho Unit 27-1, so I know so well this type of hunt is no easy thing. I've been on my bike daily pedaling a thousand vertical; next transitioning to wearing my boots all day long ... so when I get back into country, I can rock and roll! I'm pretty sure most people, and nearly all non-hunters, have no idea how even sheep hunts (hunt units) vary. There are hunt units that humble even the best hunters. I have respect for what you did.

Thanks. I've put in for 27 in Idaho the last couple years. Headed to Idaho spring bear next week. Still haven't spent the money on an unlimited tag again. It's in the middle of other seasons. I feel like money wise id have to do one or the other, elk mule deer or sheep. I keep wanting to scout in the summer. But never made it up there. To busy with the kiddos

I spent most of my youth hunting with an old .270 hunting rifle. I think it's a great round.

Hey just a heads up, Using the walkie talkie's is illegal. I know you didn't use it to find the moose are anything like that. Just a heads up in case you ever make another trip up. I'd hate for your hunt to get spoiled by something like that. Beautiful you by the way.

What happened to the Burris Eliminator ?
@cocheran Жыл бұрын
It's not legal in Idaho. I got it to hunt here a few years ago. It's on 6.5 in my "William tell" video. Shoot from 100 - 750 in it. Coulda been anything here. It looks bad that i miss when I'm not using the eliminator. But I'm mostly blaming ammo. I couldn't find any and bought some reloads for the 28. I shot it out to 750 with this scope. But always had some fliers. When i got back i bought a savage 270. I think I'm giving up on the 28. Cheap available ammo. It's been shooting amazing with this scope. I've got a lot of confidence in it going back.

Just did it today in my mostly stock 2019 on 34s. Scraped my hitch multiple times but kept it on to save my tips. Running boards got a few good drags nothing too bad.

It doesn't come seam sealed. I did that part myself. I just did it again all over. Taking it back out next week for elk in Colorado. Condensation is a real problem with it though. I'll be in my kuiu. Cousin in the black diamond

@cocheran Жыл бұрын
I traded it in July 2021 with 172k miles on it. For a the hybrid f150. It's an amazing powetrain. Having the generator than can run without the engine running. Drove it to Alaska and back after i got it with 2 deep freezes. Gets like 23.5 mpg.
@DavidGonzalez-do9fl Жыл бұрын
enjoyed the review, did you have any issues with condensation? i had the Alaknak and it was horrible for condensation.
@cocheran Жыл бұрын
No. It's a double wall tent. Can leave some vent open on the inside part if really humid or cold. But no real problems ever. Is the Alaknak a single wall? I've had a few single walls including tipi's where it's inpossible not to have the walls soaked inside. Often dripping on my sleeping bag. On the double wall the condensation forms on the inside of the outer wall. So it stays out of the interior of the tent.
@DavidGonzalez-do9fl Жыл бұрын
@@cocheran yes. it was a single wall, it was dripping so bad we had to scoop water off the tarp floor. we ended up sleeping without a fire the last few nights. it was probably in the low teens at night.

Did u REALLY try to PUSH OFF the tree using your ARM? Hilarious! Didn't think u was gonna MAKE it that squeeze was pretty TIGHT. Just a few pointers alwayS drop ur spare tire and put it in the BED. Those sharp rocks could have given u a flat and u wouldn't have been able to reach it had u gotten STUCK. Also I didn't see a WINCH. Tell me u had it hidden under the hood. Great job bro.

their is so much wrong with you shooting it being not sure if it is legal.
@cocheran2 жыл бұрын
I keep wanting to edit that. It didn't come off right. I thought it was legal. But to close to legal. I thought it was 56 before it looked at me. Then i thought no it's not that big. I thought it was big enough. But to close to be shooting also. I thought it was 53 probably when i pulled the trigger. I also edited out where I said, the worst part would be hauling all this out and then having to turn the meat over. It still wouldn't go to waste. It gets donated. I'd have to pay a fine. But nothing is wasted. A resident could shoot any bull.
@cocheran2 жыл бұрын
And shooting any bull no matter how big without enough brow tines is nerve racking until you get the tape on it. Never know if you could be wrong judging
