Hey Kevin hope you’re having a good summer. Quick question shoul you put the oil pump mark dead on or would it be better to put it alittle passed it to over oil it. I rather run it rich then have it lean out. I don’t have much experience with these oilers and I am not sure how good they are. Thanks in advance
@2strokeguru20 сағат бұрын
@gilmar5946 it's best dead on if you advance it you can foul plugs the other way will lean it out

Hi Kevin , I've got a just purchased, 1979 ke125 that is missing one of the three coils on the stator , the blue and pink wires are disconnected with the black wire going to the points and the yellow wire going to what appears to be one the charge coils ( based on your video). This coil is made of the heavier gauge wire. The other remaining coil is of lighter gauge wire and appears to be the exciter/primary coil and is wired to the condensor. My questions is can you tell me where the pink, blue, yellow and black wires should go and what they do and where should the wires go from the condensor and points and what they do , right now the condensor has a green wire going to the points and a black going to what I think is the primary coil. thanks,, i can provide photos but am unable to upload to this site,, There does not appear to be a regulator on this bike, nor the wiring for one, there is a recitifier by the battery,,, the issue with the bike is no spark to the plug, ,

Interesting. Back in the early and mid 70's I flat tracked a highly modified F5 in mile, 1/2 mile and short tract. I raced Ascot, San Jose, Sacramento, Orland & Calistoga 1/2 miles. I had a Champion frame, 38 mm Mikuni carb cut and pasted the rotary valve cover so the carb fit probably. We filled and reshaped the combustion chamber and heavily ported the cylinder. I had an F81M transmission as well. Needless to say it was really fast. I ran premix in it for the whole time. Never had unusual bearing wear. I did suck a rotary valve into the port due to valve flutter and it wore a divot in the cases. I had to fill the space by welding material into is and then report the intake but leaving a little more material running against the valve. But never had any issues with premature failure and it ran a LOT harder than any street based Kawasaki rotary valve engine. That may have been because I did more maintenance than the typical street bike but never had any issues.
@2strokeguru2 күн бұрын
@bryanwhitton1784 the rotatary valve was a compost or fabric solid disk and can handle premix the steel with out oil injection destroys the housing
@bryanwhitton17842 күн бұрын
@@2strokeguru Uh, no. It was a steel rotary valve. I was at Orland when it pealed it into the crankcase. Wrapped itself around the rod. Really cute.

@@2strokeguru It sure surprised me when it happened. Main event and I was coming out of T2 hard on it and the rear wheel locked up. All the other riders went flying past me and I was trying to figure out how to use the clutch and have my hand in the air. The one good thing that came as a result was I now watched that edge of the intake port on a regular basis. Man, that bike was fun to ride.

great information, my son recently bought a 1979 ke 125, that was supposed to have been running when parked in a shed 20 years ago but not running now. After getting it home, and having discovered that it had no spark. We then removed the magneto and discovered that the lowest coil is missing ( I assume this is the coil that you are talking about in the video above) and someone appears to have "rewired" one of the lighting coils to replace it. So there is only two of the 3 coils currently there. There is a red and black wire hanging loose. Will this setup work ? If not do you know where can I purchase either a new or used complete stator > thanks and again, great information ,There also appears to be no regulator on this bike, although one is shown in the parts fiche for a 79

My wife and I got a 1980 MX80. Ran when we bought it, but not well. When I got it home I took the carb to check it and realized everything was installed backwards or upside down. The throttle slide was upside down, the needle was just loose at the bottom as well as the regular screw screwed into the A/F Screw with no spring or washer either. How it ran I don’t know. But after “fixing” those issues it won’t even consider running. We have spark, compression, and fuel. Oil injection was deleted (clipped off but all there). Im stumped.

Hello, I have a 1974 MC1 90. I keep having a problem where it seems transmission oil keeps getting into my cylinder. After a few kicks I can pull the head off and there will be more. I tried draining the trans oil but there was almost non in it. I was able to get the bike briefly started before it flooding out again. Any idea what would be causing this? Thanks for the help :)
