Great job articulating your point without over explaining yourself. The second camera angle offered a good angle to see how you put pressure on the dog with your thighs. I've a 130 lb 8 month old blue tri XXL bully. He loves when I straddle him to play tug o war. He'll have fun learning this. You rock Bro. Thank you.

I hold a leash like the reins in English Horsebackriding. To grab the loop and a part of the leash to make a second loop and to lead the leash from down between the tiny finger and ring finger upwards between the first finger and the thumb, closing the hand now to a fist and fixing the part of the second loop with the thumb. In this way you can't only keep absolutely safe a leash without a loop (which i prefer), but also you have control over a 500kg Horse. You instinctively will never open your fist and your hand and fingers are absolutely safe from constricting. The power of the pulling dog goes over the arm, shoulder and to the core, so you are able to stay calm and will not damage your lower back and knees. Works for me all my life time so well with my 55kg Also this opens a really fine tuning with the hand and the wrist in communication with the dogs neg

I hope people don't destroy this breed too like they did the German Shepherd with their stupid body standards that got them prone to serious medical problems.

Please make sure your dog isn't drinking water immediately after exercise. Allow them to pant and cool off for a few minutes and then give them some water

I adopted a bull mastiff mix. He was probably pit/bull mastiff. Sweetheart of a dog but when my abusive brother came at me screaming at me this dog scared him and me. He didn't bite but his whole body was trembling and he showed his teeth,he had his lips ALL the way back. I gently held his collar and got him to calm but he was in another world for a minute. Absolutely capable of violence. He was ok around my brother after that but he would sit next to me and watch him the entire time. He was totally capable of really hurting a human. Eye opening experience. He passed at 13. Never bit anyone.

Do not use cotton swabs. The fibers will get stuck in your dog’s ear canal and cause serious trauma/are harder to remover than dirt

I do have children but my 2 dogs are / were also like children to me. Sadly 1 of them (they were 2 sisters) died this week from renal failure (cancer drugs) very suddenly. The loss is deeply felt, I really don’t want to talk to people who enquire about my feelings - it’s extremely personal - she was my dog, my friend and she was too young for this to happen to her.

Yes but there are more alpha dogs and more submissive dogs. It’s hard to give an alpha structure… especially when you can’t play on dominance because some are dominant and some will even go dead game on something even their owner… if they feel like they are being dominated and they’re dominant oriented. It’s about choosing the right dog to be giving structure too.

I am going off the tangent here, but some dog trainers sell themselves to the dog owners with reputation from dolphin training, or learning from dolphin, seal, Penguin trainers... Do they and the people realize that they confine those animals, controlling the environment to the extend that those animals only amusement is the food and interaction with trainers!!! Those animals with instinct to not care about strange people/the spectators in the first place unlike dogs!!! I don't see them can train random wild animals out in open sea!!! So much for positive only without truly explaining the controlled environmental factor

I have a german shepard and husky mut. He is the most loyal and loving dog I've ever had. He gets a bit over excited some times. The "Growls" he makes during play time can throw some people off. He is very vocal and loves talking to us when he knows we are talking about him.

My 5 month old boxer is amazing on the walks, I use a sl ip lead and try not to overwhelm her. I have started to bring her into the city for socialization, and I noticed her getting more distracted. Should I move up to a prong ? Is she too young? She understands leash pressure, so I don't think the prong would be too much of a change. I have used prongs in the past, but the dogs were way older. Thanks

Thank you for this video. I was starting to feel guilty because I just recently made the decision to re-home the Belgian Malinois puppy that came into our home by random chance. I told my husband and step-son that we would give her a try but any signs I didn’t like she would be out. She “playfully” bit my 3 year old and my 2 year old on the second day. After much pleading from my stepson, I granted her a second chance. He looked up training and was on top of her every second. Guess what, still broke skin as my daughter played with her. My stepson was literally inches away and still the bites took place. YOU HAVE NO IDEA how many people suggested “gentle hands” to my kids and insinuated or quite literally told me directly that I need to discipline my kids and teach them to interact with the dog correctly so they don’t get bit. Even as I type this, it infuriates me. They are 3 and 2 years old and already being held responsible for their future wellbeing when this dog is 40- 60 lbs with one of the biggest bites in the canine family. The fact that people think this is a fair fight or it’s a “two way relationship” is BEYOND mind boggling. I know she is a puppy and we can “train” her, but I’m a mother and I have my mother’s instinct and I’m sticking with it. Short and simple - NOT EVERY DOG IS FOR EVERY FAMILY. This pup is gorgeous and the calmest Mali out there I think. But she has that drive. She will be a wonderful pet for someone WITHOUT toddlers. I am now being labeled the “evil step mother” and that’s ok. My stepson’s disappointment will lessen over time but a tragedy like this could never ever lessen with any amount of time.

My dog of 14 years got sick and suffered and I had to euthanize her a few days ago. I have gone crazy mourning her 😢😢😢💔💔💔 I never was able to have children so she was my child - my innocent, precious, kind, loving dog: my baby. I don’t know how to move on 😢😢😢

Not smart without protective gear.
@lukeryuzaki23282 күн бұрын
And you just showed your stupidity. This is not bitework. Experienced dog trainer like Mr. Cabral know how to hold the leash. There is zero chance that allows the puppy to have a go at the helper. And more important, a young dog should start protection foundation in defense drive toward a helper in casual clothes. You want your dog to be civil in that when SHTF, the dog would fight perps in casual clothes. Not that it only engages in fight with those who wear protection gears.
