Ah Countdown to Infinite Crisis. Where Jimmy got uncontrollably dangerous powers, got a bug lady to crush on him then had the bug lady dump him after losing the powers. And that's just part of the mess of this

I think I can add (no issue in particular) Brian Agustin an Mark Waid as writers (specially for The Flash and Impulse). Also the Cliffhanger guys (Campbell, Ramos, Madureira). There are others... Just to metion some important characters from the 1990s comicbook world.

I heard there was an issue of Marvel Swimsuit Special with a fake ad featuring a grotesquely muscular figure with the tagline “Zip your zipper!” This was a dig at Rob Liefeld, who had been in a jeans commercial with the tagline “Button your fly.” Get the feeling Marvel was a little salty about their guy leaving them for Image?

You may be speaking in terms of sales being ahead of DC, but as a reader myself I find Marvel much harder to get into because of how confusing all the different titles are, with all the spin-offs of different X-Men, avengers, New mutants, X-Force, etc. So many stories that really don't go anywhere it's hard to find a good jumping on point, where is at least with DC there's a few strong anchors that I can see where the story is going and I can jump in

I'm not a fan of how the topic is framed in terms of, who is on top or who's beating who. To me I look in terms of quality of story, and what the characters do for me as a person and how they make me feel. I feel inspired when I read DC, and I love where those stories take me in my imagination, always have since I was a kid. Marvel is cool but I've never resonated with anything really that Marvel offers, And I don't think the conversation should be framed as far as who's beating who. That's just my opinion

Ya that first appearance of Deadpool book is going crazy high now 🔥 out of reach for a lot of fans, carnage and venom however are at all time lows 🤷🏻 just bought ASM 361 yesterday for a good price in a high grade im happy 😄

90s comics were the end of any quality, when the slimy corporations took over, and began telling classic writers like Chris Claremont of Xman fame, what to write.

Integration, the Comics Code,Rock & Roll and I all got going at around the same time.In late 1954 I was a baby in Mom's arms. That fall the Comics Industry wrote the code to,"clean up,"comic books. Songs like Rock Around the Clock or Sh-Boom were on the charts then. Because of an early court decision, formerly segregated schools were just starting to admit blacks.

The marvel swimsuit specials are amazing. These are fictional characters. Nobody is destroying their self-esteem by objectifying them. They are the equivalent of fanfiction for those who draw. Please let’s get some perspective. offensive is the amount of money that influencers make. That’s offensive.

Watchmen wasn't originally a graphic novel it was a monthly 12 part series. and even if we were to call DKR a graphic novel, (it's technically a treasury) watchmen still would not fit that format in its original state...

If you think these are the worst, then you need to read more comics. You didn't live through the 1980’s black & white independent publisher onslaught and it shows.

I didn't quite understand your list. You kept the watchmen out because it was a limited series, but you included the secret wars and refer to it as a story arc? I don't get it
