What is the sail that has the most power to start planing sooner in light winds? Exceed? Spectro? Vector? Some other? Thanks you very much!
@gunsailswindsurfing2 ай бұрын
Hi Carlos, my personal favorite is the Spectro in the moment, easier to start planing than a Vector. The Vector is a powerhouse over very wide wind range, but a bit more technical. Cheers Jörg

Upon replacing the 3 parts between camber and sail to 2mm in order to reduce the camber pressure, I still struggle with too much pressure on the cam on my GSR 2022. Hard to place cambers (impossible without max outhaul then releasing downhaul). Once in place, still very hard to rotate. Any other tips pls??? Cheers
@gunsailswindsurfing6 ай бұрын
Hi, if you still have to much pressure with the right trim, you can take off all spacers to try and in the worst case, even grind off some mm on the backside of the camber. I suppose you use the correct mast for that sail?? Cheers Jörg

Just ordered the 7.5 and 8.5 to replace my Severne Turbo's 7.0/8.1/9.2. Mast for 7.5 with RDM , for 8.5 SDM (select 100% C). Hope they give the same bottom-power as the Turbo's, feel as light in the hands, but require less force to downhaul. I feel that the Turbo's have become more and more racy/high-wind optimized. More freerace than freeride. That, next to the price, is the reason I switched to Gun Exceeds. For me a big step after 8 years on Severne. Can't wait to test!

Hi, thanks for your order and happy if you let us know how they feel compared to your old sails. Enjoy.

How do you know where to place your footstraps on your board? In the video they are place on the second hole from the front and in the middle holes for the back foot. How do you choose?

@1:52 see how the boom is in the middle of the gap in the luff, i'm 178cm tall (and i would imagine that's kind of an about average height) but in all my sails i have to set the boom as low as i can be in that gap. what's up with that?
@gunsailswindsurfing Жыл бұрын
Hi, boom openings are made in a way that even smaller persons than you can comfortably sail. Maybe you prefer a quite low position of the boom. I have same size and normally I place it in the middle too, a bit deeper when it is really windy, never touching the bottom line. Cheers Jörg

Need a advice.. For a boy, 12 years old, 44kg, want try a wing on grass with a mountainboard, 10/15knt the 4mt is right or better a small?
@gunsailswindsurfing Жыл бұрын
Hi Giorgio, would take the 3.0. The span is smaller, so less risk touching the ground and the drag in the hands will be less too for that weight. You do not need much surface on the board with wheels.

Off means you release backhand and sail has no draft in that moment.

Does this apply to the Exceed as well? Or just the Vector?
@gunsails2769 Жыл бұрын
Hi Claudio, for Exceed as well, but it is anyway easier to rigg as luff tension is less and camber pressure also.
@windaddict Жыл бұрын
Thanks. The video says to pull the downhaul leaving 8-10cms, then push the cambers onto the mast, then apply rest of the downhaul. However if I do that with my Exceed 7.0, it is too hard to push the cambers onto the mast. So I just pull the downhaul all the way and then push the cambers onto the mast. Is that ok or am I doing something wrong?

I'm really struggling to rig my 2019 GS-R every time. I just can't find the right downhaul tension so I can pop the cambers onto the mast easily. Do you have a tip for this sail?
@gunsailswindsurfing2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc, maybe try to set downhaul 100% and then pop on the cams. When pushing down the batten, do it firmly to gain more space for rolling on the cam with the other hand.
@marctenhove8742 жыл бұрын
@@gunsailswindsurfing already found the solution yesterday. Trim the downhaul to approx 10cm from the max, then the cambers are easy to install. Just like in the instruction video!

Very good video. The de-rigging changed a bit from the previous video from 2016 - I will try that new way tomorrow - should help with the mast pocket and battens/cam longevity :-)

What about outhaul tension? Can you explain how to set it correctly to avoid to have a too flat sail?
@gunsailswindsurfing2 жыл бұрын
Hi loskiff, I would start to set the boom to the indicated legth, the rest is a bit try and error and really depending on the wind. Do some runs on different settings and find out what works best for you. Cheers
