my manager forced us to smile and small talk which a lot of old men took as flirting but the biggest issue was we were all 14-18 years old...

Yea i would get the drink. I am also edgy sometimes and i don't always act nice...but i mean no harm, sometimes it just happens, it is what it is. But a drink always fix my mood

Homestuck is also the reason why some conventions have banned body paint, cuz afterwards the whole place would be covered in grey paint

"Benevolent mischief" I swear, I can't help it sometimes. Even falling-down tired like this poor girl, sometimes it's worth it to have a little harmless fun with a positive spin on the end!

Same, except for one time where the GPS put me in the path of a level crossing, where a train was stopped at a signal and I had to sit there for a few minutes as it wouldn't show me another route I could take.

I love the interactive videos, and was about to comment something to that effect.... Then I realized I basically LIVE the interactive video every time I deal with customer service at [insert business]. Or, when you really think about it, dealing with anyone anywhere. Welcome to LIFE: The Fully Immersive Interactive Role-playing Game! Choose wisely.

Was at a science fiction convention at a hotel that also had a dog convention. The people from the dog convention kept complaining about us. One of the guys went to a pet store and got a couple of dog whistles. Some guys went around the hotel blowing the whistles so the dogs were barking.

As a Christian, it bothers me when people who claim to be Christian are rude. There is a meme about Christians being rude to restaurant staff after church. It's sad. People should be happy to see the Christians coming. I hope that I'm always kind to others.

Hi, I'm an ordained clergyperson with 12 years of pastoral experience (not counting seminary internships) and another 11 years in theological education, and...well, lets just say I did not gasp, as I literally wrote the book on that. Theres a difference between believing in Christ and believing into Christ, and it got literally lost in translation over the millennia. I'm sorry you got the worst witnesses to Christ at your convention.

As someone who attends an annual church convention for teens, I want to apologize on behalf of everyone who attends this event for any additional stress that we cause the hotel staff. There is a ridiculous amount of us at this convention every year and on top of creating a lot of work for housekeeping (we’re all in high school so we don’t keep our rooms very clean.) it’s also a lot on the kitchen staff who cooks special breakfasts specifically for us, it’s a lot on the staff at the little market inside the hotel because about 50 of us will suddenly flood the place all at once before our conference sessions and it’s a lot on the security team because there’s just a bunch of high school kids running around their resort and more often than not we’re out late at the pool and in courtyards after our chaperones are in their rooms so we’re usually unsupervised. We’re also all Catholic though so we’re generally not a lot of work. But still, my sincere apologies!

I was at a hotel in Fort Worth to visit Tandy. I stepped into an elevator with a bunch of people. They decided that one of their members was speaking in tongues. Half the elevator were attempting to cast out her demon. The other half was praising the miracle that was happening. I was just glad I was on a low floor.

I go to a small convention every spring and this year too many people had to pull out so we didn’t make the room block. Luckily we have such a good reputation with the hotel staff they will let us come next year, but we will be doing our best to make sure more people can come too.

Fun fact: the disney ones are just as dumb. All the key card and any RFID card holds is a string of numbers which are written into a "dead" circuit. When a RFID reader (and RFID power source) comes in contact with the card, it energizes the card and the reader can "read" the response. The way to reset them is to usually hold a really strong power source next to them and send a code or even easier, just over power them with static electricity (hence the wallet issue). The disney ones are the same dumb system. They just added an RFID reader, a database connection to a room/pin/credit card database, and some fancy code to their payment terminals that just does the same thing as swiping your card or tapping does. When you honestly look at it, most systems are actually really really basic and aren't that complex as people make it out to be.

People just don't get the hint I am 17 this happened a couple hours ago actually. So I am doing a closing shift as a cashier and this 50 year old man that doesn't really speak English fluently asked me for my number naturally I said no and not a no with a question mark like a straight NO and this man had the audacity to go but why like ummm hello I am a minor. And once I told him that he proceeds to giggle and tell me I am cut and stay there so a went to see my friend at the self surve only for him to still me at my cash waiting for me and the second I go to the office to grab my supervisor to get rid of a man at is making me uncomfortable he leaves. I was so scared he would be waiting in the parking lot asked my dad to walk with me back home.

I grew up in a state that was a "Dry Sunday" state. Wait until people like this find out that there are entire "Dry Counties" (usually in those same states) where you can't buy or possess alcoholic products at all (ironically except for certain churches🤯 SOMETIMES). 🤣🤣🤣
