i watch these even when i never consumed any of the related media because i think it helps a lot to add context to references people make and how shows can affect an entire generation of kids. and your voice is so relaxing lol

There was also a lot of chatter of moving the Garfield park closer to his hometown and integrating it with the James Dean tourism. People were buying homes and farms in the areas for hotels and B&B's. Hendricks County didn't want a theme park, but sleepy Fairmount IN did. Davis even put in a Garfield trail with themed statues in the area just north of there. People took it as a positive sign that there was a done deal. I do appreciate this, not being from Pennsylvania I always thought KennyWood was Kenny Rogers version of DollyWood.

How would someone go about verifying if photos are of this place? I obtained personally taken slides mixed into a box of commercial ones I bought at a yard sale and a bulk of photos appear to be an america themed parade in a theme park setting, they are marked 1965 and were with a Viewmaster set from this park

Wow, this documentary was so well done and captivating. As a Marketing Creative Director, it also pulled at my heartstrings in all the right places. Honestly, after this and the Lines doc, I’m convinced you can make any topic into a full, engaging story - you are so talented! 🔥👏

I have been Barbie fan & collector since 80s. I lived in NYC when they opened in Times Square. I remember being disappointed in Barbies display. It should have been top of the top in this location

I’ll never understand some of the comments saying “kids these days don’t understand” why do we have to destroy our bodies to have fun? Why should a neglect for paying customers be ok? I understand previous generations don’t have much self respect and are used to being spit and stepped on but come on

53:58 OMFG! People go through this now? Old system - take a vacation to Kiddie Land with the kiddos. New system - get a degree in logistics and start work-from-home at 6AM, for no pay, to please the ticketslaver, err fastpass machinelord. Pay $1000 & Fly 1000 Miles to pretend kiddie land is and always was a thing that adults take seriously, marching in lockstep around a theme park according to machinelord itenerary. *I lived in Orlando in the mid-2000s and learned what days to visit an empty park* Yes I rode everything to death, and learned that about 6-7 times in one hour was my human limit for the most aggressive roller-coasters. I had annual passes for multiple years to every park except the new LEGO land. FWIW my favorite ride in Orlando, overall, if it still exists, is the Popeye and Bluto River rafting (forgot exact name) ride at Universal. I have never seen a better water ride anywhere and could go on, but its basically like a log plummet except with all manner of splashing and sloshing, and multiple drops. It looks like a lazy river on the map but oh no.. Those rings hold (iirc) 10 people and freely rotate the whole time. You never know who will go under a random waterfall backward. You might get barely a squirt, or drowned from head to toe like a dunk tank riding this. No roller coaster parallels this experience that I know of. Also, this ride had a modest line most of the time. Loved seeing drenched & excited kids running the line to ride it again. 1:10:10 Hmm.. I don't remember Shapeland very well. Its all kinda hazy from Thirteenth Triangle on. I tossed my Octoroons with Squircle sauce. If I had known you were counting, I would have rode 42 instead of 39! (FWIW having rode more than anyone not an addicted trust fund baby, I quit parks after leaving Orlando. I was sickened by what happened to SeaWorld and Busch Gardens after divestiture, and Universal had eliminated their bargain AP deals shortly after Disney did anyway.) Back "in the day" you were just-a-body in a line and no one knew that some hax were bringing their GFs and riding 20x a day, just that the rides were busy. Although these numbers (Shapeland: Fastpass+) seem to suggest the most modern system is equally game-able, its not so much by choosing the right day to visit, as outsmarting the average paying customer. I don't like that. No, not at all. 1:24:05 Are you, or your "industrial engineer" a ramblin-wreck? because I spy The Varsity. 🤗"What'll ya have?" 💯

American Idol was one of the most overrated "reality" shows of the 2000s, humiliating gullible people just for the sake of ratings. Show the world they have no talent, let three people berate and deride them until their soul is the size of a wart of an ant's toe, and somehow, that became a worldwide phenomenon. Then Disney had to throw together this pathetic excuse for an attraction?? If they HAD to do something American Idol related, have guests record a few lines of a song, then have an animatronic Simon lambast them for it, then walk out.

Watching this really shows me how much these characters were such a giant part of my childhood… not just big bird, Kermit and Miss Piggy but the Swedish Chef, Animal and the two older guys who sit off to the side making cynical comments (I didn’t know their names were Waldorf and Statler) as well as countless others (I loved Rizzo the Rat, too) I don’t remember a time when I didn’t know these guys.

I’m seeing a lot of people here saying either they or someone they know went on the AI experience and had a lot of fun and don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it was. But to me that sounds like such a nightmare. Youre already paying an insane amount to go to a subpar crowded theme park and instead of spending your time at least riding fun rides, you’re spending hours waiting for a chance to be in another round of a fake reality show, where the prize is another round of the fake reality show, and the prize of that round is the *chance* to be on a real reality show. I wonder how the shows existence would have impacted the real show if it had been around earlier.
