I have an older Hot Springs Jetsetter that I'm converting to 220/240v. I have the new wiring in place but do I need to change the dip switch settings? The wiring to the terminal block looks to be from the breaker to go to black wire to #2 white wire to #5 and ground to ground bar. Where does the red wire go? Is there any white wire to remove as you've shown on the balboa?

@@JavierMunoz-gy9sn I thing that it is your Heater and if it is leaking it will need to be replaced . If that is the case its not a really hard fix just take a lot of time and you have to take special attention so you don't break other part while removing the heater . I wish there was a better aftermarket heater - it is such a lousy design and not a good quality part. I just replaced mine with a supposedly OEM one and one of the temp sensors that came in it was DOA and out of spec so it would throw a temperature probe error. I was able to use the ones from the bad heater which worked. Now a few months later the new heater is tripping the GFCI again. That electrical connection on the heater is such a bad design too. I had to grind down a wrench to hold the stud because you have so little room. Guess I'll buy another one and hope it is a better unit.

Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble.. In all of the years that I have been doing Spa repairs Balboa is by far one of the best designs on the market. So I see this all the time with home owners You might of bought the wrong heaters with the wrong sensors. A lot of DIYer think they are buying an OEM part when in fact it is an after market part sometime you get lucky sometimes not. As for the electrical connection... Make sure you put the washer on the right side of the connection and they make a special 1/4 wrench for that task. I never use aftermarket parts because of the problems you are having Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

@spaman5440 26 күн бұрын
Something is not right with your Hot tub... A 110 volt Plug & Play will go up one degree an hour and a 220 volt 5 to 8 degrees per hour depending on the size heater Now that being said your Hot Tub could be in the wrong MODE and only heating during a filter cycle or you could have it in sleep mode...NO heat at all just outside temp heating it ..Or you might need to replace the heater with a new one. Hope tis helps Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

***Question***Right off the bat I think you helped me! Last spring my hot tub tripped a couple times after I had everything clean and prepped after the winter. I also noticed the water level slowly going down. Instead of figuring it out, I just shut it down (busy times). Now, a year later I need it back up and running. Last week I opened the panels and turned the breaker on. I instantly noticed water spraying from the bolts on the heater. The breaker quickly tripped. Now it doesn’t come in at all. Your video showed me that I have a heater problem. My question is, because my system doesn’t do anything at all now, should I replace all the components in the box, or should I just replace the heater and fuses? Appreciate anything you can offer!!

Thank you for this fine video! I have a Boca Grande 10000 I believe from 2005. The entire cabinet and frame rotted out and animals ate some wires and hoses. The bottom is also rotted out. I want to attempt to fix it. I will build a new frame, although I'm not sure how to tackle the bottom yet, but I'll come up with something. There is a kit to create a new cabinet, but it requires a sturdy frame. I feel it will be considerably cheaper than a new ones and everything else is fine. What are your professional thoughts on taking this on? Is it worth it? Or is it a tail chaser.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no... Some spas are so thick that those type of cutters will not work very well. you have to be very careful that you do not pinch the blade. Do you suggest to try with a new switch and sensor heat anyway? or go for a new pump? or cardboard? please note last year my cable melt in the cardboard. A technician just shortened them and reinstall them, they didn't melt so far but maybe the cardbord is dead? any idea? Thank you :)
