Just found your channel & really enjoyed your video. I just ordered both the grater and the spiralizer. Not sure if I'll like the spiralizer. Hope you do a video on it too if you get it. Also do you have videos on dehydrating?

Did you have the heat turned up all the way?
@CHwT2 күн бұрын
I turn the heat up nearly all the way while the steam releases from the valve. Once I put on the weight, I leave the heat high until it starts to rock. Then, I lower the heat, enough to keep the weight rocking gently but not too much to over heat and risk breaking the jars inside. ❤

It will still be good. Not sure how long you let it infuse for. The longer it sits in the oil, the darker it will become.

Hi Patti. Yes, actually I have used Almond Oil and also Sunflower Oil. I have also used a combination of Almond and Olive oils together. The carrier oil used is a personal preference when you make it. Jojoba, Coconut, Apricot...etc. so many to choose from and all great! God Bless❤

They will last in the pantry. Just place them on the self (unopened)! Once you open a jar and the seal is broken, you will have to keep it in the fridge.

Can the used comfrey be used in my compost, or should I discard it? I like to compost most anything that I can. I just finished making this recipe and added essential oils to it. I'm super excited because it's my first time doing it. Thank you, for your teaching.
@CHwTАй бұрын
Hi! Yes, you can add the used comfrey to the compost. You can also mix it with grass clippings and use it as a mulch around plants. Your salve sounds wonderful! Essentials oils always make things a bit nicer. God Bless ❤

Thank you so much for your help. Will you tell us what you will do with the corned beef/your fav ways to use it? I have a big one in my freezer I forgot to cook for St Patrick’s day.
@CHwTАй бұрын
I have used my corned beef in different ways but my favorite way is frying it with my canned potatoes and some onion. It makes a wonderful meal. Also, I will open a jar on "lazy days" and it will be fork tender enough to mix with mayo, onion, etc... and have a corned beef salad sandwich. Possibilities are endless! God Bless ❤

Thankyou maam . God bless you. I have got comfrey roots. I have planted few and rest I am planning for comfrey salve. Can I use coconut oil instead of olive oil ? I am making a small portion to begin with. Can you tell me how much Qtys should I use for 2 roots ( 2 -3 inches size each). Request you to let me know in ml or gms. Thankyou.
@CHwTАй бұрын
The process is the same whether you are using dried comfrey leaves or roots. Cut the roots up and put them in a jar and cover them with the carrier oil. (Yes, you can use coconut oil instead of the olive oil). Leave them sit for at least 4 weeks (longer is better). Then strain and make the salve from the oil. God Bless ❤
@Mister.DoodlerАй бұрын
@@CHwT thankyou. The roots I have are Approx 1 to 2” in size. Do I need to moist them with water and cut them further or directly infuse them in coconut oil as it is ?
@CHwTАй бұрын
@@Mister.Doodler You will have to dry the roots first. To do that: Wash the roots well and chop them into smaller pieces. Lay them on your dehydrator trays and give them ample space for proper airflow. Dehydrate them at 130-140 degrees F for 5-8 hours. Alternatively, you can string them up on thread like bunting and let them dry naturally. The roots should be dry and crumbly before you use them to make comfrey oil. Once they are dry, add them to the jar and fill with your coconut oil. ❤

Need the recipe for comfrey salve.
@CHwTАй бұрын
The recipe is within the video as it is being made. I added about 1/4 cup of Beeswax. It leaves the salve very soft. If you want a firmer salve, you can add more Beeswax. You will have to experiment depending on how firm you prefer the salve to be.

Where can i get comfrey if i don't have any planets
@CHwT2 ай бұрын
Comfrey is not sold as a plant, (at least I have never seen any), but by seeds. The best place is to check on Amazon for them. Many people sell them on there. Once you have just one plant from them...you will have many. They multiply every year.

I put it into soups, stews, etc while frozen. It will not be soggy when cooked. You cannot thaw it and use it as you would fresh cabbage. It would get soggy that way. You can see me use it in this dish: kzfaq.infoq8cK1eRd0cg

Hi Teresa, I was checking out your recipe, but none of the ingredients you're using have collagen in them. Collagen is predominantly found in animal connective tissues, so fruits and vegetables themselves do not contain collagen. However, certain fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients that promote collagen synthesis in the body, such as vitamin C. Would it be beneficial to add collagen powder as well? Thanks, Deona
@CHwT3 ай бұрын
I am not sure if it would really be more beneficial, but I do not see where it would hurt at all to add it.

@CHwT3 ай бұрын
I will wash it first if it looks too dirty, but usually once I remove the outer leaves, it will be pretty clean. (looser heads may need more cleaning). But I just chop or shred as is and freeze then use it right into a soup or stew. (it will not be good enough for say Cole slaw or that nature). It is delicious.

I've been making variations on this more than 40 yrs. Most traditional version is just mash, kale(or cabbage) & bacon. So many things you can add to it. My favorites are cheese, sauerkraut, sausage, peas, baked beans, asparagus & all kinds of oniony things.I make it at lest twice a week, most often with instant mash to save time. Try snipping the green onions with scissors, to me it's easier.

Depends on how you choose to serve it I think. Made the way it is here; it is more a side dish. But I believe if you add ham or bacon (or any other meats) directly in with it, then it could be a one pot meal. They say it is very adaptable that way. ❤

As I state in the video, you can use freezer ziplock type bags, but it WILL freezer burn as those bags cannot seal out all the air like a vacuum seal bag can. If you use zipper bags, you should use the cabbage within about 4-6 weeks time.

You can if you wish to. If you do, it must be completely dry before you freeze it or it will cause it to freezer burn. I do not wash mine first, just for this reason.
