Another trick, air pots ( or fabric root prune pot, air pots are my favorite), plant in that for about 2 years then transfer into a large normal pot. If you have grow lights they make them grow faster but once you transfer from a root pot to a regular pot it will take off with crazy new growth. The root pot just establishes thinner feeder roots that soak up water and nutrients more efficiently so when you transfer it those roots are no longer restricted and the plant takes off with more top growth to fuel more root growth.

Thank you so much for this video. I've been using miracle grow soil for my houseplants for years. I've had people look down on me for doing so. My pothos are extremely healthy plants. You make me feel normal rather than shunned because I didn't spend $50 for some fancy bag of aroid mix. Now I gotta go watch all your other videos. 😊

I think it would've been better if you would loosen the roots a bit, at some times its even advised to cut a part of the enstrangled roots because if the roots are completely stuck in the pot they cannot absord water properly and oxygen can also not reach the roots anymore.

Is there any rule on when you should or shouldn't trim/prune back a plant? My tetraspermas are all really long and I didn't repot during the summer/spring but now we've come into "winter" in Brisbane and I'm afraid to do anything. They're really lacking structure and I would love to repot, give them a post to climb and trim a bit, but I'm afraid the time of year is not good to do anything. Even though it's not really cold in Brisbane, I assume the plant still has a slower growth time. Any advice?
@plantluxxe28 күн бұрын
Hello! Yes, you could trim it and propagate the cuttings and create a fuller plant. This time of year is a good time to do it. Place the cuttings in water. Refresh the soil. Place in a controlled environment…sunlight is key. Warmth is key. Use a heating pad if it’s too chilly. I was thinking about doing a new video about this because I have some new suggestions. Would you be interested in watching another video about it?

Great video, it was very informational and I actually learned something from it for my Pothos unlike some other videos. When you were talking about growing a bigger Pothos, you said that you should use some sort of pole or stake. Which kind of pole would be best for a Pothos? I just recently bought a moss pole for my monstera deliciosa, and I now have an extra and thought about putting it in my golden Pothos? And thanks again, this video was really good and your Pothos looks amazing!

Thank you ❤️🌿💚 yes, miss piles are great! I have both wood one and moss one. I like them equally. The moss acts as an extension of the bed. The leaves will grow larger on a moss pole. Water the pole regularly and give it good sunlight and your plant will be a giant in no time🌿💚❤️ Let me know how it’s going and how you like the moss pole! 🪴

I love how straight forward you keep it!! You just clip those pothos vines, and stick 'em right in the new pot, I love it!! I also love that you like to use wooden stakes/poles and not always moss poles! So much easier to source, and less expensive! Thanks so much for this video, I keep watching it as a point of reference, as I just repotted a bunch of pothos babies and one philodendron brasil into a "jungle pot" with 3 massive branches to train them up! I started doubting myself, and wondering if I messed up with not doing moss, and then I watched this again and BAM confidence restored! Thanks again :)

Thanks for the sub! I love the monstera adansonii …. She’s a wonderful diva but worth all the effort! So easy to propagate and grow. Her leaves get super large when using a moss pole. Since I created that monstera adansonii video I have grown a few 12 foot giant ones that I need to post updates about those as well…in the coming month I hope to post a new video about that! I don’t know why, but my monstera adansonii is the preferred indoor plant my dog whiskey pees on when I’m out of town. your better off to use a damp soil and not trying messing with all that dust flying, and its much eaiser to repot a plant thats been watered already, and DO NOT USE TAP WATER ON A POTHOS NOT EVER!!!!!! MAKE SURE YOUR WATER SITS OUT A FEW DAYS BEFORE YOU USE IT, THEY HATE CLORINE,

Like the recipe for plants . Can you use that for fiddle plants, Alocasia plants, Zz plants I have lots of different plants. Thank you for sharing.
@plantluxxeАй бұрын
Hello! I would tweak the recipe for different species of plants…remember it’s also very important to consider these things as well: lighting, temperature, humidity. These determine how long your soil will stay moist and what soil amendments are best for your plants, given the environment your plants live in. Thank you for watching. Would you find a more detailed video about soil and amendments helpful? I could create something more comprehensive? 🪴💚❤️

I also make sure it’s in a warm window with great sunlight! They thrive when the roots mostly dry out and do not stay moist in the soil for too long. Most soil for too long =root rot

Pl suggest whether moss stick is better or wooden stake is better as u used?
@plantluxxeАй бұрын
Hello! Either one is great… it depends on what you want to do… Moss poles are like an extension of the pot. A wooden pole is like a tree the plant can attach to and grow up… what look are you going for? Moss poles make it easier to grow large leaves faster. Wooden poles provide more support to drape /attach/tie on several vines. I have both and love them the same. With a moss pole, you need to water the pole regularly (weekly) to get the desired growth result. Thank you for watching and commenting …and thank you for your patience awaiting my response. I’ve been moving and life has been crazy 🤪 🪴💚🌿

I’m really late to this video 🫣🤣. But…the mother plant you propagated from - did it come with several stems in the same pot? Or is the from you propagating and then adding them back into that pot? I have one that only has 2 stems and I’m wanting it to be full like yours! ❤
@plantluxxeАй бұрын
Hi! Sorry for the late response… Life has been crazy and been moving🌿🪴 The great thing about rubber trees is when you cut them, they bush out with several shoots on their original trunk. It’s fascinating. All I did was chop it and it bushed out. When I originally purchased the plant it had a few stems (trunks). And it took several years to grow that big. I have made several new trees using that mother tree…. The propagations seem to grow fast. Best time to propagate and grow them is when the weather gets warm outside and then put in several pots. By end of summer it’ll be fully rooted. Thank you for watching and commenting. Update me on your plant experience with your rubber tree…what happened?

I just stumbled across your channel for the first time today. I have to say I’ve seen such a magnificent pothos such as this! I just got several varieties of pothos this week. They are in 6” pots at the moment. But I definitely will be trying to stake at least one of them. I wanted to mention how right you are about good vibes for the plants. I had a very nice small collection of plants many years ago when my boyfriend at the time moved in. My pothos I trained it from the floor and it went back and forth on the ceiling beams. Well he was there less than a year and literally every plant I had died off! Even my beautiful pothos that is normally hard to kill. I did nothing different to my plants. But I swear his bad energy killed them all.
