you seem to fail to understand that paper is not "broken", but in fact working as intended. it's meant to disable/dull all systems which can produce lag. its intended use is for a lobby server for example, which just needs to serve a static map as reliably and low-resource as possible. of course your redstone contraptions won't work on a system which intentionally nerfs them

I don't get why the TNT when being pushed into the entity-processing-chunk goes down towards the blockers first and only then moves horizontally. What is stopping it from going diagonal as soon as it leaves the piston's y level since it has a downward and forward velocity?

I feel like Paper has a different audience. They have these defaults and changes to optimize for speed. If speed isn't a number one priority for you, then the Fabric server works great - especially with performance mods.

Though some of your frustration is warrented, a lot of it just comes down to your unfamiliarity with server software. There's a good reason why most of these server things work the way they do. But I agree with you that the paper devs have their heads up their asses.

Could you make a tnt strike cannon for us bedrock users? I know our mechanics with chunk rendering and tnt are awful, but it'd be awesome to have one.
