I want to buy a flying V bass in the worst possible way. So how soon might we see Dean and/or any other guitar companies come out with their versions of flying V basses to the consumer market? Also, if Dean was told to stop selling their V and Z series models of guitars and basses in 2022, do they possibly have a warehouse full of previously produced models stacked up on top of each other? Will somebody take my money for a flying V bass, and how quickly can I expect to have one in my hands?

@@bravobri8426 I don’t know much about bass guitars to be fully honest. I’m an electric guitar guy. But regarding your question about Dean having a full warehouse, no they don’t for a few reason. 2 of them being: 1. They never stopped selling Vs and Zs despite the court orders. That’s why they were found in contempt of the court. 2. They also had to deal with other legal issues such as the one from the Dimebag Darrel’s estate. All of which put the company in a worse financial situation. At some point they had to go in administration because they couldn’t pay a bank loan of $4 million. So they won’t have a full warehouse like post-covid Fender.

i have two 8 strings with floyds, they are no different than 6/7 strings with them. some alternative points on why one might say floyds ARE user friendly: 1. tune once and not really have to tune again until you want a different tuning 2. you can keep strings on basically forever... i change strings very rarely, keeping them on for years. if you break a string near the bridge (almost always where strings break), you can unlock the nut and pull more string down (extra windings at tuning peg allows for this many times over) then re-clamp into bridge. I have done this during shows and it can be completed in just a few minutes. 3. locking nuts are the best nuts for electric guitars. they take all string gauges without having to be filed/adjusted, do not go out of tune when locked and also hold tune very well unlocked since hardened steel is quite slick and there is no binding spots. 4. blocking a floyd rose is not hard to do and there are many ways to do it, some very temporary or even permanently if you like. once blocked, it's a very good fixed bridge. obviously I'm a fan, but these are some points a lot of people don't seem to consider that are actually more convenient than a fixed bridge. what you gain in some aspects you lose in others, so at the very least floyds are on par with any other bridge (or in my case, it's the best bridge ever invented) so to summarize, if anyone likes 8 strings and likes floyds do NOT be afraid of this guitar it will behave like any other guitar with a floyd

@MooseWilliams
@MooseWilliams 2 күн бұрын
@@mr.sorenzo the additional tension. You’ll find that 7 and 8 string guitars with locking tremolo systems will actually hold tune better over time also. As an example, if you cut 3 of the 6 strings off on a regular guitar with a floating bridge, tuning one string will more drastically raise or lower the tuning of the corresponding strings due to the lack of tensional support from the missing strings that provide ample tension from the springs attached the the claw in the cavity on the back of the guitar. I have 6, 7 and 8 string guitars which are all equipped with floating bridges and the 8 string is the easiest to tune from unstrung and remains in perfect pitch the longest. Bizarre I know, but it’s actually true and it surprised me quite a lot as I was anxious about this when I was ordering my 8 string guitar. I hope this is easy to understand :)

This is a weird take. Ibanez doesn't do enough with the Xiphos model as it is. And this is a really cool iteration. Giving him something unique is actually an improvement over his previous 2 signature models: Tim got a black beauty-inspired AZ with HSS (mini humbucker), so Scott got a signature AZ in a different color with dual full-sized humbuckers. Tim gets a signature RG, so Scott gets a signature RG with a pickguard and a different finish. This is something uniquely Scott, and it's on-brand since he previously played the Iron Label Xiphos in the Ego Death video. If they are both going to keep getting signatures, it's nice for Scott to get something that isn't derivative of whatever Tim gets.

@@guudbyenme3399 fair enough. remind me why SLM10 was discontinued? Also why Jem is getting new iterations since 1987? As long as Polyphia/Tim have that hype, Ibanez will throw new stuff at Scott. He can ride on that coattail. For a big established producer like Ibanez, throwing all these out and seeing what sticks won’t cost them much. Look at all signature models across different brands. @guudbyenme3399
@guudbyenme3399 13 күн бұрын
@mr.sorenzo the Jem has been around for decades and isn't going anywhere. Vai and Satriani helped make ibanez the name it is today. They are also actually fully custom models. The Jem is kinda an RG, but with the monkey grip and whatnot, it's not really. Closest thing to the Satch is an S, but it's still it's own thing. Tim's nylon thinline is the only real "custom" model, and it's not really since it was based on an old model, and they also made the cheap non-sig model after it got so popular. I'm not sure what point you are even trying to make, to be honest. My point was that the Xiphos would actually be a unique signature considering it's different, and there aren't many xiphos options. Just making more and more RGs in slightly different finishes with custom-voiced Fishmans is boring. People who don't know or aren't even fans of Polyphia might see that Xiphos and want it. Who cares if they discontinue his other model or not? And they also discontinued the THBB10, so why wouldn't they discontinue the SLM10 which was it's partner at launch? Maybe Tim and Scott both wanted to switch it up.

Haven't bought one, but i think they look cool. I just think you're wild for making a video just to weirdly obsess over mocking Scott's nose. 99% of artist signatures get discontinued after a year or three. Making a comparison to the Jem is while. Yeah, it's been out nearly 40 years, but it's a a ton of different iterations in that time. They don't release the same spec every year. Even the monkey grip has been made in different patterns. The TOD10 got a new color because Tim still likes playing that guitar. Scott seems to dig the xiphos right now, so maybe they'll switch up and do a different sig. You just seemed more interested in making fun of some dude's nose than anything else. Honestly, I wish ibanez would make signature models for other artists on their roster in this price range, rather than who we get. But at least the Polyphia models are cool. Getting the "tree of death" on Tim's is awesome because you can't get the tree of life on any ibanez models that aren't made in Japan. Getting a cool inlay in the import budget range is cool. So... getting a whited-out xiphos with a cool inlay is cool, no matter how big the guy's nose is.

Tim said in one of his members only videos that Scott was working on "other models" with ibanez and I don't think they're going to discontinue the KRYS10, it's most likely just his 7 string signature, and maybe it made sense for them to have their guitars looking similar so that they work together but idk that's just my speculation 👀

9:45 Paul did a video (I can’t remember which one) where he explains why he prefers nickel to stainless steel. If I recall correctly, it comes to the fact that the Stainless steel is too strong and it affects the tone… or something like that. I honestly have no idea, I’m not an expert, but I recall that his explanation was more detailed and made sense to me at the time I watched it… it was a Q&A during a clinic video. I saw it like 2 years ago, maybe even more (during the pandemic, hard to remember dates)

0:45 WRONG! Maybe you’re too young and haven’t study PRS history, but PRS already released bolt-on (strat) guitars in the past such the NF3, DC3, EG3, Brent Mason, etc… (not even mentioning the CE line). All of the mentioned here were released BEFORE the SilverSky and Fiore. That’s why the SE NF3 isn’t a baby-SS, but simply a rebirth of the NF3.

@@mr.sorenzoYEAH, that’s what I thought… also, PRS were not really famous for their first bolt-on “Strat” models, you can only know if you study their history, or if you lived it. The Brent Mason was only available for 2 years, and I don’t think the first NF3/DC3 last very long either. I remember that I wanted a DC3, by the time I could save the money, they were not available anymore… and I got a Brent Mason (very nice model too since the scale is neither 25” or 25”½ but 25”¼… that’s also why I want to add a SilverSky (25”½) and a SE NF3 (25”) to my (small) collection, so I could cover different tones we can get from those specs. And to reply to your question, yes the specs were great; I think the SE NF3 will find its place as a fatter, darker, smoother Strat, while the SE SS will keep being the best ‘63/64 Strat you get at this price point, with a brighter, snappier and twangier tone. At least that’s what I get from the videos of the SE NF3 I’ve seen so far… Noiseless Pickups and 10” radius are the TWO main specs I wanted the SilverSky to have… so I’m pretty positive I will get the SE NF3 Maple in Metallic Orange. The only question is before or after the Silver Sky? They’re both on my wishlist :)

There is a sense that Swift has been a positive influence on guitar popularity as an instrument in pop music, especially from the point of view of guitar companies and retailers, who have seen declining sales lately. But it's not from PLAYING the guitar that she promotes it: obviously she has a very basic strum & occasional use of it, almost like a prop on stage. What her contribution has been is by just appearing to play a guitar, being photographed playing a guitar, she has kept the idea alive of a guitar as a cool essential instrument in modern music. If you think of all female divas so popular in recent decades--the Pinks, Adriana Grande, Adele, Beyonce, etc--the don't play any instrument, they just sing. People notice this, or maybe just subconsiously notice it. The message is: the band is not important, the guitar is not important, it's all the singer, how flashy and cool she looks, how well she belts out the notes and dances her little choreography. At least with Swift, she takes up the guitar as if to say: this instrument is an important part of the whole music experience. Those whose livelihood depends on guitar sales are grateful to her.

@@loiswells3062 you have a point. She having a guitar as a stage prop or in limited use promotes guitar. And she has a large following. IMHO campfire songs about breakups, with cowboy chords anchoring 2 fingers, don't justify being in the top 10 best guitarists...most influential I'd be more open to. The article does state "inspirational players", which she is...just not all that good. There's still a lot of them to consider if you go out of the "pop" genre. Jim Root is the only one that stands out as a #1, Mick Thomson should be there also. Adam D from KSE, Mike Amoth and Jeff Loomis from Arch Enemy, Mike Tremonti from Creed (and Tremonti), Nita Strauss, John Petrucci, Tom Morello, Synyster Gates and many more.

The American made Narrowfield pickups were first introduced in the core model Swamp Ash Special NF back in 2010. They discontinued the model in 2012. These pickups were also in the original core model NF3 as well as the core model Studio and the Modern Eagle 3 (most starting around 2012). You can also find it as a middle pickup of the Super Eagle (John Mayers Dead guitar) and the special 22. All of these predate the Myles Kennedy and NF53.

The SE NF3 is an SE version of an earlier core model NF3 which was produced from 2011-2013 and was the first to feature the narrowfield pickups. The NF pickups have also been used on other models like the middle pickup of the Super Eagle. While many are comparing the body to the Silver Sky, the NF3 body style proceeds the Silver Sky by around 7 years.
