walaikum salam. good Q. think of the answer this way, the immigration officer is going to check if you have 'resources' to pay for the duration of your visit. The resources can be cash, credit card, a family member or friend local in Canada with whom you are going to stay. Example: If your visit visa is for 5-yeras, and you arrive in Canada with 1-month of return ticket - it means you have to show to immigration officer you have 'resources' to handle your accommodation, food, travel expenses. If you tell immigration officer you do not know anyone in Canada - the immigration officer will expect you to have a hotel booking for your stay in Canada and for you to have resources (cash/credit card) to pay for this booking. In this case better to make a reservation with hotel in advance and show to immigration officer where you will stay. You will need more resources/money if paying everything on own. But are planning to stay with a relative or friend in Canada - the immigration officer will ask this person's name, address, how you know them etc - and if the immigration officer is satisfied with answers they will not expect you to have as much money/resources. Whichever option you select (staying on own or with friend), when you are coming to Canada (or any country) the traveler has to have good idea where they will stay, and the address - even if you are planning to stay at a hotel. If you have a phone number that works international it will help you a lot - see my other video on getting a Global phone number - you can make account on Uber, food delivery companies etc with that phone number.

Pakistan and most countries allow passengers to carry less than USD $10,000 cash with you. If you need money for expense in Pakistan, open Roshan Digital Account in dual currency USD (or other foreign currency) & Pak Rupee which is super convenient. Put funds in foreign currency and exchange the amounts in your own bank between accounts as you need Rupees. The unused foreign currency stays in foreign currency.

To my knowledge, the official fee of a 'porter' (luggage cart attendant) is Rs.400 per cart. When I arrive from USA the porter sees that from luggage tag and usually ask for $20 (= Rs.5000) and they keep asking for it all the way until I get to your family/friend vehicle in the parking lot. My suggestion is: if you do not have many gifts or items to declare then just pay Rs.1000 in the end and porters are happy with it. If you have bunch of gifts, are traveling with family/kids, have many suitcases, and don't want to be hassled by customs - tell porter if he can get you out without checking and hassle and in turn you will give him good money, and $20 per cart works well to not be hassled after a long trip. Has worked for many people I know. But this is just a suggestion, not requirement.

Yes, Passport control puts 'entry' stamp in passport on arrival. When leaving the country the Passport Control puts an 'Exit' stamp on passport.

Walaikum asalam, I have taken bath sets as gifts, and also taken individual shampoo and lotions as gifts several times and there was no tax anytime. But if you have a a lot of these in your luggage as gift then it is hard to convince customs that these are gifts and not for reselling. The only issue of taking these is they are very heavy items and you hit the max baggage weight (50 lbs per bag) limit allowed by airlines. But, if you are traveling as family you can put these gift items in different suitcases.

MY ANSWER: Walaikum Asalam, herbs (plants) are not allowed entry into most countries through passenger baggage. If you see my video about going to Canada, during the customs and immigration process they ask if passenger is bringing any plants. See video count 5:45 of this video below. If you bring dried herbs there may be an exception but you will have to discuss with the customs staff. They will decide if they do or do not allow entry of these herbs.

Copies / attested copies you can carry in checked luggage (suitcases), but originals are very valuable so always carry with you. I carry mine in my backpack that you see in my 'luggage' 'video.

Do custom officers check your hand carry bag of every passenger? if they observe original documents then they can ask why you carry documents on tourist visa ,

​@@Alihassan-im7hh When 'Customs' starts checking bags, they check everything - not just handbags. In most cases they check bags only if they think the passenger is not telling the truth, because then they have to search the passenger to find the truth. A passenger on visit visa can carry a few credentials with them, that is not unusual. But if someone is carrying their entire life of credentials without a reasonable explanation, it may raise some questions.

Sometimes govt changes policies or some incident happened at airport and they have more stick checking.

But, based on the Questions / answer with you, if they think you are not telling the truth or are hiding something then they will check the mobile to verify what you are saying. Congratulations on receiving the visitor visa. You can arrive in Toronto and then travel to Edmonton, Alberta or any other city. If you are coming from Pakistan, then PIA has a non-stop flight to Toronto. And you can then take 'Air Canada' or 'West Jet' flights from Toronto to Edmonton, Alberta.

If you have Mobilink SIM card in your phone and activate International roaming before leaving Pakistan, then arrive in Dubai and your phone connects to a local Dubai phone company like etisalat, your phone and text charges will be mobilink. If you have a dual-SIM phone and have two SIM cards in the phone (1) Mobilink SIM card + (2) etisalat SIM card active and working in the phone, when you arrive in Dubai and your phone connects to etisalat network then your phone will use etisalat network and charges will be etisalat.

Yes, if you get a international roaming package from Pakistani mobile company that includes internet then yes it will work. If you do not get a 'package' but only activate international roaming with mobile company (Example: Jazz) then phone and texting will work but internet will not. You can find a wifi spot locally to use internet.

If your question is how much money is needed at the airport, the answer depends on what type of visa you have. A person who has visit visa needs to have enough money to pay for the visit/tour. If coming to Canada as permanent resident, then government requires you have six months of funds available. If coming on student visa, then should have money to cover your expenses during the year. If coming on work visa then very little money is needed because you are expected to work in Canada and earn here. Also, if coming on family immigration visa (example: if your parents or wife sponsored your) then very little money is required to bring because it is expected that your family will support you.

IN ENGLISH: Walaikum asalam, Your quesiton has three important words: vist visa, sponsor, agent. I will try to provide relevance of all three. If you paid money to an agent and he guided you to get a genuine visit visa issued by Canada Consulate then the job of agent is done. Please understand that a visa does not guarantee entry into a country. Visa only gives opportunity to arrive at a border crossing and request entry there. The immigration officer at the border crossing makes the final decision to allow a person into the country. Visit visa means you are coming to Canada as a tourist to visit and will go back to UAE. So immigration officer will try to confirm this info from talking to you. That how many days you will be in Canada, where will you go, who will you visit, where will you stay, do you have money to pay for your expenses, what you do in UAE and will you return back to UAE. If you have a sponsor based visit visa, then immigration officer will ask about this sponsor, who is this person, how do you know them, why are you coming to visit this sponsor. These are most common questions, and there may be more questions. As you see in the video here, when answering immigration questions be confident and honest. Immigration officers do not like when people are not honest and it just complicates things for the person traveling. Best of luck.

When traveling on visit visa, be ready to answer the most common questions during immigration check are a) How long will you stay b) Who will you visit (friends, relatives, or just tourist sight seeing) c) Where will you stay (name & address of hotel or people where you will stay) d) Where or which cities will you visit d) what gifts did you bring with you? e) How much money did you bring for the tourist visit? f) Did you bring any commercial goods (that you will sell in Canada. You shouldn't) Primary purpose of the questions is to confirm you are coming here as tourist on leisure trip. Many people use visit visa to come into country and then try to change their visa to a student visa or something else. I hear it works, but I do not personally know anyone who has done this successfully. But, if you are thinking about this then talk to a lawyer in Canada and have your things lined up and ready.

IN ENGLISH: Only Allah knows the future. Based on the knowledge of my travels to Pakistan, I would say there should be no issue in bringing PS5 console in carry-on bag. Be sure your friend is not carrying the PS5 box in his bare-hands, by this i mean: PS5 should not be *visible* to everyone. when PS5 is inside a carry-on bag, only the customs scan machine will see it. Any gaming console is basically a high performance computer dedicated to gaming. No issue with bringing it as long as it is a gift, not for sale. Anything for sale is a business and requires tax and custom duty. I have brought several computers, laptops and phones as gifts. No custom duty was applied on any of them.

I hope all went well with your father's travel to Canada. They have language translators at the airport so hopefully it was seamless. Sorry about the delay in answering, I was away from the channel for couple weeks.

It is hard to tell what will happen on the day of travel, but from my experience there should not be any problem with it. In the scan machine the latest Xbox should look like a desktop computer which is okay to travel with. The only time anyone would know it is xbox is if they open luggage and see the retail box. I travel with two laptops and lots of gadgets / tech items in my carry on and there is never any issue. No Qs by customs. It is smart to carry it in carry-on. Best of luck.
