They do crow a lot in the morning. I think if you have more than one they will try and out crow each other all day which can cause quite a bit of noise.

Hi there! I got my chin about 2 months ago now and right from the get go, she was coming up to me. I literally brought her home, got her cage set up, put her in; and she came up to me. During playtime she runs around and climbs on me and is very interactive. She’s very sweet and gives nibbles a lot and sometimes even kisses. But sometimes randomly in the middle of the night (I have insomnia which is partly why I chose a chinchilla, cause we both have similar sleep schedules lol) she’ll start making this loud rhythmic sound that I cannot for the life of me figure out what it means. I’ve watched all of your sounds videos along with all of the others I’ve found and I can’t find the sound she makes or what it means. Everytime I go and check on her and she seems totally fine, she made the sounds about half an hour ago and she’s drinking water and eating pellets now and she’ll probably get the zoomies soon. I just wanna make sure she’s not upset or anxious 🥺

@@liamparker98 It could be alarm barking , alarm barking is a loud rhythmic sound, it is perfectly normal just means she wants to alert other chinchillas of a potential danger, they can get spooked quite easily. They can make a similar sound when they are hiccupping too this is also completely normal but unlike the alarm bark it's involuntary and it normally goes away on its own.

How do you get everything done on a daily basis with so many animals to care for plus a household to run, spending time with your daughter and work?
@AllysAnimalAntics11 күн бұрын
It is a struggle sometimes , I normally only work part time but for the last 6 months or so I have been working full time crazy hours hence the sporadic videos. But my husband only works part time from home so he helps a great deal with feeding and cleaning all the animals. Honestly God forbid if anything happened to him there is no way I could look after all the animals on my own.

You are such a wise & loving woman Ally! I adore You & Your philosophy about Your animals. I also noticed that birds just know where their home is & why would You want to leave Home?? 🤔☺️ As You say unless there is a terrible fright like the storm or a predator, they never tried to fly. Thank You for sharing Your beautiful babies with me as at 70yo I decided to not take on any long term commitments so... no more babies for me. I've never been alone before. 🤕 But watching You & Your babies warms my heart & gives me a little warmth in remembering all my sweet times with my babies. You are a beautiful treasure in this world Ally 💎😍

When am I going to have chinchillas?🥲 My son is 27 and I can’t get him to move out so I can keep chins in that room!!! I’m 51 and can’t wait to be old to own them I might have to settle for rats instead 🥲

Hello, i know this video is older but i still have to ask here. My small chinchilla who is like 5 years old or so broke her tail in half. (we treated her already) but giving her, her antiobitics is an issue...I am being gentle with her as ever and i am doing my best not to harm her or cause her fear, but she then starts to wiggle and squeek and i am scared that i did something to her... we gave her the antibiotics few times already (sadly with my mom being forcefull and holding her) i did yesterday without an issue but this morning it being very problematic. i dont know what to do, sometimes she crawls around my shoulders without a fear, and next thing i know she hids behind a table where i cannot get her out...i really do not know how to get her to like me more, she hears for her name and reacts but doesnt come over...

Lol im guessing you chose Maestro to be your "prop Chin" for THIS video because he's a pretty chill-chin who doesn't mind being used to accentuate your narration... "REALLY *shifts wild haired Maestro chin to one forearm* "GRINDS *starts shakes arm* MY *with Maestro shaking* GEARS *right along for the ride, obviously 100% in agreement* !!!"

Hey ally I’m just curious. I have 2 females living together, if one got pregnant, would the other be ok with the kits? Thanks :)
@AllysAnimalAnticsАй бұрын
Usually yes. chinchillas are very maternal and the other female chinchilla may help with caring for the babies ,cleaning them, keeping the warm etc. The only issue is occasionally the mum during the first few days after birth can be very protective and can get aggressive towards other chinchillas in the cage if this happens its best to remove the other female. That being said I know loads of breeders that successfully keep trios so 2 females to 1 male and when one of them gets pregnant and gives birth they keep the other female in the same cage with them with no issue.
