@@mainstreambuilds more work, less talk. If you're in it for views and really want your channel to be successful, buy some gaskets and do it over. Should be pretty easy since you already done it before and figured out the problems that viewers will come across with 7M's. Otherwise there's plenty of channels on KZfaq that are actually getting down and not just throwing shots out to companies. I like you because you're a real 7mgte enthusiast regardless if you started with a N/A, but I will tell you that when start talking, and keep talking and there's nothing but small work to follow, people will bounce to other channels that's really getting down. Doesn't make any sense. 😂 Plus there's more important and reliable parts that could've been installed before the muffler. Example. Radius rods, catch can and better springs. Im sure the lower A Arms hasn't been replaced yet.( The weakest link). And The bump steer delete...

Since I ended up going with forged internals, it wasn't necessary to add oil squirters. I was actually talking to a guy the other day about overall costs. I saved a bunch of money by doing all the fab stuff myself, but I'd say overall, I'm probably 8-10k.

im curious if belt length matters when relocating the alternator? and also without intercooler piping running to the other side how does it route to the passenger side of intercooler
@mainstreambuilds
@mainstreambuilds 2 ай бұрын
Yeah belt length does matter in this case. The 7m has 3 different belts with the factory setup. When moving the alternator down below it actually brings it closer to the crank pulley which requires a shorter length belt. The intercooler pipe runs from the intake down through the battery tray to the intercooler. From the intercooler it runs up along the power steering pump and to the turbo.

I’m running the same RPM BOV, I’ve also got the extension hose to vent it inside the air box (not installed yet) so it’s not open to dust/dirt. I’ve ran other BOVs, I’ve always wondered how to adjust the adjustable BOVs. I think the one I put on my brothers x3 is adjustable. Any input on adjusting one? I also would recommend using a removable boost pressure gauge after removing the boost hoses, I’ve found leaks more then once where I thought the hose clamps/connections where tight but needed just a little more attention loosing valuable boost pressure. I bought the gauge from KWI clutch, I was trying to diagnose a power loss, sure enough a boost hose was leaking.

It just depends on how much power you are trying to achieve. If it's just the stock PSI or a few PSI above that it should be fine. The forward facing manifold has decent low end torque, better throttle response, better intercooler pipe routing.....and just looks way better.

Poor Supra. Not that he’s doing a terrible job but I hope ppl realize that these are rare cars, the more ppl do these “mods” good luck finding one OEM. Wow thanks for the support man! Sorry MY car upsets you so bad. If you actually watched the video I talk about how the car had been hit and it was beyond my knowledge and repair skills. To answer your question, yes I want to be different and make the car how I like it and will enjoy it. My plan is to fit a larger tire which wouldn't fit with stock fenders. To say my car will end up in a junk yard because these so call "mods" will get it there quicker is a pretty far reach. I'd love to see pics of your supra. With your expectations it sounds like it's in absolute perfect condition. 👌

I just installed the kit on My X3 Turbo rr max. On the ride i noticed the bov would open and remain open at around 5300 rpm. I also noticed as I was driving down the road and every time I hit a bump and my foot bounced on a gas pedal a little the BOV would also dump. Do I need to put the next Stronger spring? Or are you sensing something else? Any help is greatly appreciated
@mainstreambuilds
@mainstreambuilds 3 ай бұрын
That's interesting. I did disassembled my bov and cleaned a bunch of grease off the plunger. It was acting like glue and would hold the plunger open. I would also try swapping the springs out. Typically the plunger and diaphragm are held closed under boost pressure. The positive boost pressure will push on the back side of the diaphragm and will hold it shut. Since yours is staying open at 5300 rpm I'm willing to bet it's opening and then getting stuck and remaining open.

So what "we need" as a 7m community is a good detailed electronics guide when it comes to modernizing the bay. I've looked all over for information should I go to a custom harness and a standalone like a haltec. There is no information as to what modules and the like can be removed and which sensors to update across the board. It is funny that when it comes to the FFIM side of things, there too is so little actual information post 2006.
