Join me for a 10 Minute standing pilates full body workout and stretch which will move your spine in all directions to help it feel more flexible and strong, you'll do stretches as well as exercises to tone your thighs and challenge your balance. You can do it anywhere, at home or on holiday. It's a simple, effective Pilates routine, explained clearly and at a steady pace so you can do it along with me. It's a nice simple routine that's easy to learn and can be done daily to keep you feeling fit and flexible wherever you are. I loved this video! Your instructions were excellent!! I’m a person who frequently forgets to breath when I exercise, or I hold/strain my breath during a tough move. Unlike other videos, where they demonstrate the breathing in the beginning, and then assume you’ll continue on your own - you constantly instruct in the breathing throughout!! Thanks for that!!! So glad I found this channel!! 😀👍

Hello and thank you for the wonderful feedback! Yes I know what you mean about the breathing, you can concentrate so hard you forget to do it! I always instruct the breath as I find it helps people relax as well as understand the breath. Good work for trying it, so glad you enjoyed the instructions! This is a great video for anywhere - just need a place to stand. It doesn't feel like ten minutes, the time flies by because the movements are so comfortable and energizing

Hi Mari, Thank you for your kind words. As you have found, I have a mix of different workouts and at different lengths, so you can combine them to make the class as long as you want. It sounds like you are making great progress, so you should be ready to try the longer classes and the intermediate levels as well. There are plenty more in the pipeline, so watch this space! Rachel

I love your gentle spirit, friend! This was a nice standing session and would certainly serve as a wonderful warm-up for a full length class or as a stand alone "just get the body invigorated" session as well. And I'm realizing it is nearly 5 years old! :-)

I agree with all that Lucy Stiles has said. I have a ballet background and love your movements which really help with easing out my very old bones at any time in the day. I follow several of your standing exercises and particularly like the ones filmed in Madeira. Thank you.

I've seen so many people benefit from regular pilates practice and I would recommend two to three times a week as an ideal way to manage as well; as strengthen your back. So, I no longer need physio as Pilates is working well for me. Your other videos are great too and added to my exercise list. I'm also sharing via my Twitter pages.

Hi Rachel, many thanks for this and the other standing workouts which are a really great way to start the day whilst we are self isolating. They are about the right length of time and difficulty. I don't know how long it takes to prepare one of these but I wondered if you could do one to include exercises for creaky knees? I have greatly benefited from Pilates to strengthen the muscles to support the knees but these have been done on a reformer which is not possible at the moment!

Hello there, really glad to hear these standing pilates exercises are woking for you and I will film another soon for creaky knees! What a great expression😊 Without a reformer we need to create some resistance but you know there is no better resistance than your own body weight so you have chosen the ideal workouts whilst you cannot go to your reformer sessions. I've made a note about your request and would recommend you take the other standing workouts on the channel too. With your knees just be mindful of not over flexing them or hyper extending and you'll be fine. More to come soon! Best wishes, Rachel
