I bought a Baron B55 that was destined for the scrap yard. Let’s see if we can resurrect this abandoned Baron that has sat for 15 years.
Don't for get to check out the video on the abandoned Cessna 182 Sky Lane. Both airplanes where owned by the same owner and sat at the airport for 14 years. These planes where destined for the scrap yard. Thankfully I was able to purchase these planes and rescue them from the scrap yard (hopefully). I am a combination of Jimmy's World and Rebuild rescue. If you haven't seen their videos please check them out. This journey is just beginning.
This video is for entertainment purposes only and is not intended as instruction in any way. For instruction please contact your local flight school.

If I win the lotto, I will just rescue planes to break even, maybe even a loss. Lord I love aviation. For now I will just keep my 1961 210A airworthy.

Nice vid. As a pilot, I find these “abandoned airplane” vids interesting. Makes me want to get my A&P. If I remember correctly, the guys that owned this Baron also owned that 182 you worked on.

It looks in very good shape considering it sat for 15 years. The lack of corrosion in the fuselage is encouraging. B55 is a great plane.

@@Daybreakaviation I flew an A55 for a while. It is a great flying plane. The 470s have plenty of power and are smooth running engines.

definitely need to tighten the cables up need to be piano 🎹 tight where you can tap it like tuning fork. definitely lube then just move all the flight ✈️ surfaces lube the hinges check fluids run the engines up to temp if they’ll light give her some throttle back n forth check mags . then after an annual another run go run the cob webs out of her. one thing with twins shut an engine off in flight it’s gotta re light make sure feathering works. seats 💺 most likely either re covered n dyed fuel sender unit works but they love go go juice yea i’d love to hear a smoke off clear prop. landing lights beacon marker lights i’d swap to led’s then jack it up see in landing gear works three green n locked

Hey man, nice video. I spend a lot of time flying out of that airport. Let me know if you're interested in a V-Tail that sits about an hour south of you guys, down 65. It's been sitting for a long time, but happens to have a zero time engine. It's probably internally/externally corroded by now, but might still have some value. I doubt the ruddervators are any good. Keep it up man!

@@Daybreakaviation Sure thing. It's down in Prattville. I can get you access. No clue about the owner, it's just been sitting forever. I'm sure the folks at Shelby were glad to open up a shade hangar spot. Any parking spot is in high demand these days! Do you have an email I can send my contact info to? Just as a suggestion if you haven't already, I would probably setup a dummy Gmail account for stuff like this.

While interesting, I just don't think any older twin prop like this is worth making it airworthy. Because even if it is, its just too expensive to operate and maintain.

Dont walk away, run. You would spend $100k getting it licensed and flyable, and another $100,000 on avionics
