In this video, I’m going to talk about what I believe is one of the most potent superfoods you can eat - beef liver.
Before you click away, hear me out. The key to liver is the quality you get. I don’t recommend going to go down to the local grocery store for beef liver, because you can’t be sure of the quality. I recommend a company called US Wellness Meats. I’m not affiliated with them, and I don’t get a commission. They’re a good company; their cows are grass-fed and grass-finished.
One of their great products is beef liverwurst, containing nothing more than organ meats, sea salt, and spices.
I was forced to eat liver as a child, and I don't like it! But I’ll have a little bit once a week or so because it’s such a potent, nutrient-dense food. Beef liver is full of vitamin B12, all the fat-soluble vitamins, and a form of iron that’s more powerful than iron from vegetables.
Beef liver has a high amount of vitamin A, which is good for your vision. Some people are concerned about vitamin A toxicity, but that’s not an issue with beef liver. Vitamin E is good for your heart. Vitamin K2 keeps calcium from building up in your arteries but transports it to your joints and bones.
You’ll also get folic acid, and a trace mineral called selenium that’s excellent for detoxification, along with essential fatty acids in a good ratio. As well, there is lots of copper, coenzyme Q10, vitamin C, and zinc. There is no other food that has a comparable amount and variety of nutrients. The beef liver will provide you with strength, endurance, and energy. You don’t need much; a small amount once or twice a week will do. And it’s a great alternative for nutrients if you don’t like vegetables!
The body uses the liver to neutralize toxins, not store them - unless you have fatty liver. Toxins are mainly stored in the fat cells. If you consume liver from a quality source, the toxin load is very low.
Beef liver is full of stored nutrients that can improve your health.

Man!!! That's great. I believe you. My grandparents lived on a small farm, grew most of their food and made some food of what nowadays most people won't even taste. They ate pasture raised beef, chicken and eggs and alot of organic vegetables and fruit. I don't remember ever seeing them sick, and were very active , healthy, happy until their late 80s. They both died of natural causes. Beef liver, kidneys, bone broth, whole chicken, lots of veggies, fruit and other foods raised on a farm was in their diet. We have gotten away from that, nowadays most of the food has alot of pesticides, artificial flavor, color and alot of other stuff that is not natural.

I HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE. Oh, don’t forget beef liver once a week and beef heart occasionally. It really has taken 20 years off of his looks. He mixes the molasses with some kinds of seeds. Not sure which ones. He has been doing this almost a year. Will it put his color back like when he was 18? Probably not. But he doesn’t look 100 years old like he did before either. I mean even Columbus took a chance. I was training for a 10K run and my legs felt like lead bricks. I did some research and figured out this was an iron issue (causing low blood oxygen) so I loaded up on spinach and liver for about a week to 10 days before the big event and I had the best run of my life. I have asthma and my breathing was so much better and I had noticeably more strength in my muscles. I attribute that to the nutrient density of the liver I was eating. It truly is a superfood.

vegan diet doesnt cause that. Anemia is an individual problem, not a vegan diet problem. There are millions of vegans who have been eating vegan for decades who do not have an iron problem. Same goes for B12 which everyone seems to think is unanimously a vegan diet problem. Might surprise people but the vast majority of those with B12 issues are still eating animal products. These problems stem mostly from the gut being damaged and the liver/kidney/adrenal system being down, not from not intaking the nutrient in question.

Iron deficiency is the most common nutritional deficiency on the planet, and over 90% of people on this planet consume animal products. Iron is found in plenty in plant based food, and B12 normally wouldn't be a problem either. The problem with Iron Anemia and B12 Anemia/deficiency: 1. People are clogging their bodies with toxic food resulting in the body needing several times more caloric intake to get the same nutrition as before. A state of perpetual starvation. 2. Glyphosate, Gluten, Gmo's and other harmful chemicals are damaging gut absorption and even causing leaky gut resulting in less nutrients getting into the body even if you consume those nutrients. 3. Soils contain less nutrients than they did 100 years ago. 4. Food is mostly all sanitized, pasteurized, sprayed, rinsed etc getting rid of B12.

Better yet, cut it into bite-size strips and sear them in a very low heated pan, just to leave the inside almost raw. Add a good quality sea salt afterwards. You don't need anything else, it taste amazing! One of my favorites. I do the same thing with beef kidneys as well.

@Rachel Avila I don't pressure cook it. Liver and kidneys are very soft, they don't need such high temperatures. There's a KZfaq channel called River Cottage. There are a couple of videos there by Steve Lamb about how to properly cut liver and a recipe. It's all very simple. The way I cook it is even simpler. I cut it into bite-size strips, I sear them in a very low heated pan just to leave the inside tender and almost raw. I use a good sea-salt and sometimes a bit of black pepper after they are done. At least for me it taste incredible. Kidneys have a very similar taste and texture to liver. Hope this helps.

Recipe I can recommend, soak liver for 1 hour in water( not milk like many do, milk changes how it tastes), then fry up butter and onion, remove from pan, fry the chopped liver( white pepper, salt and BBQ seasoning), add back the onions at the end. Eat with potatoes and a good salad.

Large dices of beef liverwurst, one onion. Medium heat with about 3 tablespoons of coconut oil, Himalayan salt and pepper to taste - it was fantastic! Wellness shipped pretty quick and arrived frozen. I added some fatty grass fed burgers which were on sale. Those are delicious too but careful on the grill. I pan fry grill mine since it’s hard to control the fat dripping from catching fire on the grill.

I recently started eating liver and I instantly powered up! I make bone broth over the course of two days from roasted beef bones and a few leaves of comfrey. I separate the tallow (fat) by chilling it in the fridge. This is when the magic happens, I make a short crust pastry with gluten free flour, half tallow and half grass fed butter which I then roll out to make pie crusts. I then brown up some steak and liver (soak in milk overnight). Simmer this in some broth, thicken with corn starch and add into your crust and bake for half an hour. It's crazy tasty, has great fats and is very nutritious. I get so much tallow from the bones I even add some to my dog's food which seems to help with her coat and joints.

I literally just bought some grass fed beef liver from wholefoods today and cannot wait to have it with breakfast tomorrow.....I have been doing keto for quite some time and haven’t really been feeling that surge of energy that so many have. I have pretty significant adrenal issues. I really feel that having some GF liver a few times a week will help. All of the vitamins and minerals in beef liver are what I am pretty low on and I seem to have reactions to taking supplements. So I’m really hoping that this will help make ends meet......Been hearing nothing but good stuff....

I get beef liverwurst from an organic supplier out in the Midwest, and it's good! Reminds me of a prior job where there was a co-worker who used to get a liverwurst sandwich from the local convenience store at lunch everyday with mustard and onions. It was cheap too. I ended up trying it and getting hooked myself. Yes there was bread but we were all oblivious to the effects of carbohydrates back then.

@@olblu8746 yeah it has more nutriets than any other version of it (cooked, baked, fried etc). That being said I don't think the good sides of it are so strong that everyone should do it. You are waaay better off just using supplements for certain vitamins that you might not be getting through every day life. For example I don't get enough vitam d (vitamin from the sun) because of work, so I use vitamin d pills instead. Similar with protein powder, creatine, zinc, magnesium, calcium, c vitamin and also b vitamin. Things like this is all different for everyone and our lifestyle so please do research on vitamins and chemicals that you eat every day and see what you might be missing. Magnesium can help you recover better during sleep if you have it before sleep. You can imagine things like this have a huge effect on us and our every day life. Take care!

Then smashes garlic, Himalayan salt, black pepper 🌶️ and a sprinkle of whiskey over the marinated liver, then let it sit for an hour. Then Frye it on butter. When you see it's getting grey then turn it over. You will love it Doctor. I am soooo gratefully to know that liver is very good for woman. Stayy happy in Good Health forevermore dear Dr Berg.
