Unfortunately the reality of the situation is that HE didn't even start thinking like that until he was faced with the odds of having a black daughter. I'm glad he's putting thought into it now but I doubt black men will flock to this video or share it with their friends when they don't really sit with the reality of things like this until it's theirs and their loved ones. It's a free for all in the black communtiy tbh. Younger black men won't care until they've found their wife and worry about having a daughter like him. Hopefully the wisdom he aquired saves his daughter from the grasp of these kinds of men. Hopefully her husband didn't wreak havoc on everyone else's daughters before he claims he found a wife in her. I'm hopeful although I acknowledge the cycle of things... it's unfortunate.

As a dark skinned single woman who makes six figures being called a gold digger is a regular experience for me because of this reason. There are microagressions that men (not just black men, now it's all men) have for black women because of the media portrayal... and it makes it so difficult to feel safe or even date without being attacked from the jump. Thanks for this video.

@ZARA Moreira most of the ppl who are passive aggressive with black women are envious/threatened or mad that they could never get a beautiful black woman. They try to make you feel inferior because they secretly feel that way in comparison to you. I’ve noticed ppl are way more nicer to black women they don’t view as a threat. But when you are beautiful, the world can be ugly towards you.

Talk about not being shy with their disdain for black women...last week a friend of mine (black male) shared a Facebook post that had been circulating, and it chastised Henry Rugg's wife for not taking the charges for him so he could continue playing and making money. And because she didn't take the fall for him, she was a gold-digger and wanted his money for herself while he goes to prison. Never mind the fact that he could've killed her and did kill someone else; his wife was in the wrong. I was appalled. Particularly because my friend's wife is herself a dark skinned black woman, so I couldn't believe he'd post something like that. I commented that "I guess for some shameful individuals black women can't do anything right", and he responded that it was just a joke. When I tell you how disappointed I was...I considered arguing with him to drive home the point that posts like this are part of a broader pattern of anti-black woman hate and very much NOT a joke, but I dropped it. I say all this to say, I feel everything you said in this video❤.

If you have them, surround your little girl with GOOD men in your life (brothers, uncles, fathers, etc.) If you have any male cousins that are supportive, add them too. I must agree with you. The way to sidestep this prejudice is to give your children so much concern and love, they love them selves, other peoples opinions of them is not really important, teach them values, manners make sure they are well educated and have compassion for others, appreciative and they will be able to brave the ups and downs of life. The love of their parents is what is important and what will mold them. Children are like pure clay in the hands of a potter, it’s up to the parents to manipulate that clay into beautiful vessels. I appreciate seeing beautiful dark skin women, I’m dark skin and have been told many times I’m beautiful. I appreciate dark skin because I know we have to work a little harder than light skinned people and when I see them become the cream of the crop it makes me proud. I love all people, love and beauty in a person stems from the inside, no matter how pretty a person looks on the outside and if they are ugly on the inside it will overshadow that outer beauty every time. I worry about children in these critical times, you have to watch them 24/7, there is so much hate and demonic behavior especially towards black children, boys and girls. My only son is 50, very dark skin and 6’3” raised in the toughest part of Philly, single mother, but guess what he’s a Clinical Psychologist and a Professor of Psychology in NY. He calls me along with his wife and daughter his responsibility, I can take care of myself and live in a nice suburb. He always ask, whenever he speaks to me, Mom do you need anything, I’m good. It’s black men like you that needs to be heard. I don’t know your mother but I do know behind every good man there’s a good women. Proud of you. Keep telling them.

I thank you for your candor and authenticity and the heart that you put into your videos, truly. What you're sharing is so disturbing so deeply disturbing - there's a book called "The batterer a psychological profile" and it stipulates that men who are functioning in a batterer's mindset go on "seek and destroy missions with women". This is real. I'm so glad to see men like yourself, Devon Franklin, Dandre Whitfield, speaking truths and striving towards health and demonstrating alternatives to such toxicity; and who are functioning in away as to be uplifting. Also demonstrating the beauty of black family and speaking direct truths about the epidemic that is sweeping through our communities. In my lifetime I have been a child raised in domestic violence, experienced sexual assault and stalking before the age of 18 and having become a professional in working with such violence, I've tried to hold on to the black man. I felt determined up until recent years to believe that all men and specifically black men are not predatory. I've enjoyed black male friends, and black male relatives who have been a beautiful example and a blessing to me.... I've been determined and refused to fail to see beauty in my communities' men. So when I hear men of our communities generalizing I'm appalled; and if we look at our history as African-Americans, our unique history as African Americans, I don't want to comprehend it. I want to add that when you shared about the disrespect and dishonor endured by dark skinned black women.... the comedian Richard Pryor who often used the N word in his comedy skits, he said that after traveling to Africa and seeing the Sea of black people there and seeing with his own eyes the culture and the richness and heritage, when he returned he said he couldn't use that word anymore. Black American men who are putting down dark skinned sisters need to understand there's an entire continent of dark skinned sisters and dark skinned women all over the world; South America and all different parts of the world. It is poisonous because such sentiments on social media, in music lyrics, etc....this poisonous rhetoric doesn't just stay in the US black community; it is heard all over the world. It's affecting not only Black American women here in the United States, it's affecting black women around the world. There's no conscience, there's no insight or care about the far reaching implications. I appreciate what you're saying about roots of pain anger and rage. It's being released into the world at large. If that poison is not addressed individually, it spews onto everything it touches. Programmed Canableism. Thank you so very much for your platform for your voice for your integrity.

I called triple A the other day and a bm driver came out and he gave me dirty look and had an attitude with me for no reason. I immediately told him if he don't want to be here. And on the subject of bm not being attracted dark skin women they are actually but they want they want to follow the self hating crowd. They tell dark skin women that they cute for a dark skinned girl trying to play on what they think is the dark skinned women low self-esteem. It's trick psychology, but they don't realize that dark skinned women love themselves and they try to put their own self hate onto the dark skin. Bm need to start being leaders and not following. Bm are actually watering another races garden and it's sick and sad.

Shumake, you have a clean heart toward people & life, sadly this has become rare. I say this, I will do my part by living righteous & doing what I know is right, according to the Word of God. I pray for everyone, including myself. Thank you for such a transparent video 😊

KZfaq algorithm recommended this to me and this video was very interesting and enlightening. Thank you. So correct me if I'm wrong, but the moral of this story is that we should never generalize people, because no group of people is made up of the same exact individuals.

I want to love everyone and try to check myself when I find my mind going south. However, I can't help but feel fear and dread when I see black men on the street. I don't want to have to kill someone in self defense just to make it home alive. I find myself clutching my knife and pepper spray and it just makes you dislike the group as a whole. I've been followed in cars and had abuses spat at me when I politely declined their advances. My own father spews some of the nonsense mentioned in this video. He hates black women and tries to convince me that I'm the problem in a marriage that hasn't even happened yet. I know not all BM are bad, I've met many kind ones, but they seem to be shrinking in number. I hate that I have to racially/visually profile fellow black people for my own safety, but I do. I wish more black guys like him would speak up, maybe it can be safe in our community for once.

I love your videos brother. I don't think these men are just attacking black women because they are hurt or have suffered so horribly with black women. A lot of them are jumping on a bandwagon because disgracing black women has always been fashionable in our culture/society. Most of them have never really experienced enough suffering/pain which is why they mishandle black women so often. I look at it like this...black women have endured so much that we have the strength that a lot of these men envy because they allowed their pride to cause them to relinquish their God given responsibilities, which has made them weaker and unable to measure up now. Black women have really come to a place where they really don't need the type of man that society now has to offer. It will be in her best interest that she remain single. Sad, but it's reality

Tell it! & I'm half black! mixed with native American, 😋 and I don't like it! But thankfully the men & women in my life are good to me and very respectful! It's not right to do this on both sides, we are all individuals! I was done wrong by someone, I don't like or deal with that person, I don't blame all men or whoever, I have my performance, what I like and that's all! It's still based on the person, if they have a good ❤ heart, a family member wanted to hurt the person that done me wrong, as it turns out, I left, never looked back! Best decision I ever made, we live separated lives, I go my way & they go theirs! Luckily it worked out for the best, lesson learned!

I have a beautiful chocolate drop daughter. I have no concern for her because of idiots she may come across. Even in the 90s as a fair skinned woman, I had to learn to love myself and my dad and mom were integral in that process. My beautiful brown skinned daughter is growing up with the same support and with God's grace she'll be a woman with healthy self esteem. I 🙏 the same thing for all of our children. We have to be the remnant to help the community flourish! 😉

Cyn G is needed. I used to ALWAYS specify that NOT ALL Black men are bad but then I realized MOST Black men is like this in the community. I’d like to think the community have something to offer I and my family but it doesn’t, it’s unclean, it’s unsafe, it lack substance and most of the men just want to turn the young ladies coming up into whores. Before Cyn or the red pill etc… Black women were ALWAYS being treated like trash in the community. I’ve gotten to the point in life where I’m more scared of Black men than I do a the KKK.
